This video was very helpful. It's frustrating trying to find a super cool tail tidy/fender eliminator solution for a 2023 Bonneville. To be honest, I don't like it with the fender completely gone, or with the factory fender on. I wish I could find a good replacement rear fender and license plate tail lights solution to go with it.
Motone should make this adjustable with or offer a narrow version. I’ll do the license plate brackets or make my own. Thank you for the video. Helped me make up my mind.
The reason the indicator bracket is that wide is because it’s designed for the UK market and our number plates are 9” wide. I fitted the same to my Bonneville SE but didn’t use the indicator mount and put them elsewhere instead. As far as hardware goes, I always keep a stock of different size nuts and bolts. You never know when you’ll need them, as this clip proves.
Totally agree. I have some 400 piece kit of bolts, nuts, washers, and crush washers... The problem was that the bolts that were the right size were too long, so they stuck out through the fender too far. I was concerned that if going over a bump with a passenger, we bottom out the suspension, the bolts might make contact with the tires. Decided it was better to go to the hardware store and get something the right thread but closer to the original length. Re: UK plate, yup, I figured as much. Thank you for providing the width for context. Looking at the pictures it looked like it could be adjusted to fit a global audience to me... I'm guilty of wishful thinking when I should have contacted the company and asked. Lessons were learned lol
Good thing you are handy. most people would have sent it back. I think the mod looks better but would have liked the turn signals closer to the lic plate. Cheers
You can get your own Triumph Bonneville STOP light here: amzn.to/3tse2i0 The B1G BUT license plate was from Kraken's Garage & Adventures: ua-cam.com/users/KrakensGarageAdventures Please let me know what you think of the new tail light!
If right at the edge of the license plate you fold it over with a break it'll be perfectly even with the license plate. Saw for the originally is and drill some holes in it. But overall I think it's nice 🧔🏻
Thanks. Yep that's exactly what I was thinking. Bend it at the edge of the plate and then drill press a slot for the signals to mount. If I do that over that over the winter I'll make a follow-up video.
Nice job. That kit is whacked out. I would keep the original main rear light unless going for modern mods. I would however remove the side and bottom reflectors, (easy unbolting job) and try to find some decent signal lights mounted closer together to replace the gargantuan oem signals.
Just a generic dime a dozen made in china universal motorcycle turn signal. Should work on any mainstream motorcycle that's come out in the last half century :)
Great question. I honestly just brought the original part to the hardware store, and matched the thread. If you don't want to have to stop part way through your install (because I get how frustrating that can be...), I would recommend just taking one of the nuts off and bringing them to the hardware store and match the thread. You don't want to get too long of a bolt. I go the shortest I could find that would fit through, that way if I bottom out the suspension the nuts won't hit my tires. Sorry I can't give you exact specs, shot this back in the fall. Hope this helps.
Hey buddy. I have one of those bolt/washer/crush washer/nut 400 piece sets from princess auto, but the ones the right diameter were too long, and I was worried if we were two up and bottoming out they would hit the tire so I decided to just run to the hardware store to get the right size bolt with a shorter length to be safe on the clearance.

Thanks Stephen. This was the best "in-between" I could find. I still really like it.

I agree, it wouldn't be hard, just smarter design is all. Happy this helped.

Thanks! May do some more fixing to it over the winter when I get restless. We'll see!

Thanks! 😊 Is whacked out good or bad? 😆
1:34 what are those indicators you use?will the work with the LC bonnies?

Hey, what were the size of the bolts you bought? I have just ordered the kit and thought I would get the bolts so I ahve all ready to install.

@@YouMotorcycle Brilliant, thank you for your reply, I will do that

I prefer laser cannons :)
😂 lmao, ok fair enough haha
I like the original better. Its high quality , large and bright.
Hey. I'm assuming you also like the original better than the tail tidy then? ua-cam.com/video/kL7HOYqACKk/v-deo.html
Keep it stock, get rid of aftermarket stuff. This tail light looks crap.
But that big brake light is so hideous! Lol
