not to be dramatic (i am going to be dramatic lsdgdhofjidgjsfkd_) i cannot believe im only now discovering this youtube channel - in love with the way you talk about and process through music,,,, when you started describing "everything is romatic" as poetry, i was like... she gets it.,. thank you for this video!
YES!! Like the way she is able to articulate her interpretations of and thoughts about music is perfect. I had the same thought during her Allie X review, she really does just get it
You NEED to listen to the three new songs on the deluxe version, Guess and Spring Breakers are classics. oh and also the girl, so confusing remix with lorde and the Von dutch addison rae remixes are absolutely incredible
"So I" is about SOPHIE - who was a long-time collaborator and music production legend. Her passing was big news and she's known for the song 'It's Okay to Cry.' She revolutionized pop and defined Charli's sound with their collaboration Vroom Vroom.
if you enjoy experimental music, as you say, you should react to SOPHIE if you haven't already! she was a close collaborator and huge inspiration to charli. start with her "Product" album, and if you like it maybe react to "Oil of Every Pearl's Uninsides" aswell! just a suggestion
I really appreciate how eloquent you are in the way you talk about music. not everyone has the depth or vocabulary to describe it with such accuracy and detail.
Hey Joie, i'm just halfway through the video but I can already tell your perspective on things is really interesting, and you're great at communicating it. Good job
22:06 it is WILD you got that off the beat without knowing its about sophie, who was a deeply influential collaborator w charli and that died a few years ago really tragically. love your analysis always ❤ edit: i just wanted to add that mean girls might be about dasha from red scare! i've had mixed feelings about the song due to that but it bumps Hard....
People are talking about Mean Girls more because it’s supposed to be about somebody problematic (but it’s called mean girls, what do you expect? hah). I think it’s a good song, the piano break down is amazing. You have some nice candid takes on these tracks.
the song so i is written about sophie xeon, a close friend of charli who produced much of charli’s most famous work before sadly passing away a few years ago. sophie was huge in changing the trajectory of charli’s career, charli often credits her as being one of the soul reasons she’s making the type of music she is making today. i highly recommend u react to her project ‘oil of every pearl’s un-insides’ if u haven’t heard it already, it’s very experimental but seeing as u mentioned a liking for emotional depth in pop music i strongly think you would enjoy it! :)
u described the album EXACLTY like charli, the brat is a persona, just like crash was kind of a conceptual album about the death of a popstar, brat is about the cycle of returning to what u really are, with the bad and the good that comes with it
Disarming is such a good way to describe the rollout, the whole brat thing being both the forward and bitchy energy supported by openness of needs/fears/sadness is so good.
I love how lyrically messy charli is, like shes here for the DRAMA 🤣💚 allegedly sympathy is a knife is a bout taylor swift, since charli's husband is in the 1975, im guessing it was written when taylor was dating matty healy.
I love your insightful analysis and observations of each song. You gave me new perspectives on some of these tracks. Wonderful reaction! Maybe you check out "Take Me Apart" by Kelela which also has forward-thinking and dynamic production plus beautiful songwriting.
I really loved your reaction and your thoughts about the album :) you really get into the songs and not only listen, but at the same time LISTEN to them. Subscribed immediately! :)

Gesaffelstein produced a couple songs on this album. React to his latest released this year, “GAMMA”. A banger of an album. It will blow your mind.
I've heard it already! Well produced and incredibly spooky in some moments. Hysteria and The Perfect are my favorite tracks :)
Great video
Oh yes yes yes! Everything is romantic doesn’t have lyrics. It’s literally a melodic poetry.
