Side note: if you care to check out a fun example of how good a storyteller Jessie can be with her vocals, I'd highly recommend her duet with another amazing London singer, Katy B's track 'Aaliyah', if you don't already know it - a millennial 'Jolene' AND a reply record in one. When Jessie's purposely chilly, arch vocal comes in, the (unapologetically poppy) proceedings go up a notch, before the whole swirling, hypnotic dancefloor vibe pretty much collapses into the vortex of its own making 😂
(And yes, the title was born out of Katy's love for that much-missed singer).
I had a deep Katy B obsession a few years ago. She's amazing! Aaliyah is a solid track, but Katy On A Mission? Hits every time!

I love this album and your review is so precise and on the nose... 😏 ... if you will. But your beauty and your soothing voice mixed with Jessie's vocals is just... perfection. You should be doing ted talks!! I wonder, cuz I'm new to your channel, if you heard her song with Kylie Minogue "Kiss of life" but also Kylie's "Disco" album. Very similar but different but equally as enjoyable and disco euphoric opulence.

Probably because you went into it thinking you were going to get what's your pleasure part 2 which she already accomplished with the deluxe edition
If you listen to any of the singles or the interviews leading up to this album you would have known that this would be a more Funk and soul driven album. I would definitely say it's not for everybody but I personally love it it's like an older sister to her previous album
