These are two of our Thanksgiving favorites. I figured I would get this recipe out earlier so that you can get all of the ingredients. The written recipe is always linked in the description (it's the little "arrow" on mobile and a "show more" on desktop). In the description, you will also find my shop and other links with cookware/ingredients and all the other things you guys frequently ask about. Thanks as always for liking my videos and have a great Thanksgiving!
I love artichokes as much as mushrooms. Thanks for the recipe. I don't like sweet, sweet potatoes so I'll pass on that one. I found it hysterical that James doesn't like sweet potatoes but he devoured the whole thing. Maybe the artichokes needed some lemon juice on top of them at the end (before putting them in the oven), & not just in the breadcrumbs. Just a thought. I wish all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving. Take care & be well.
Of all the Sip & Feast recipes I’ve seen, the elation on James’ face when his kid liked the sweet potatoes after giving an initial “one” rating before trying it was priceless.
Loved that "haha" when James said the sweet potatoes were really good. Always fun when your kids enjoy foods they normally don't like. I still never got mine to eat anything with onions in it....
James is like the guy who writes restaurant reviews like this: "Awesome food, great atmosphere, will return. 2 1/2 stars." 😄 Seriously though, the family taste test and rating at the end was so wholesome, and I loved the recipes. Please keep these vids coming.
The look on your face is the absolute best when your kid says he hates something you made (without even trying it first) and then eating it all because it's so good. It's all too relatable! Thanks for sharing the recipes!
Fantastic as usual Jim. You guys are just a blessing and a joy to watch. I can't think of anything you've made that I don't love. I wish you all the best for the holidays 😊
James takes his ratings very seriously and I love it! His mom's being all nice about it and he's just brutal. Future food critic or chef maybe? Lol! Both of these dishes look lovely! I adore sweet potatoes in any form, especially with the additions of brown sugar, cinnamon and marshmallows. Artichokes are delicious when prepared correctly and this recipe looks perfect and way more convenient than making stuffed artichokes. I love the additions of parmesan and lemon juice, those are the best ingredients to use in combination with artichokes because they make the artichokes taste ten times better than they do when they're plain.
Memories. There used to be fights over the artichoke hearts every year, my grandmother would have to make a ton of them to keep the peace at the table. I still make them myself from time-to-time, esp as a side for a roasted chicken. So much easier than making stuffed artichokes. Thanks for the video.
This looks absolutely wonderful. I am definitely going to try the stuffed artichoke hearts, because stuffing a whole artichoke is a pain in the butt and I have never thought to do it this way. Your family is absolutely lovely and I hope you have a joyful Thanksgiving.
Same here, I love stuffed artichokes, but when someone else goes through all the trouble of doing the work lol. I've made them and they were great but SOOOO time consuming. This looks like a fantastic alternative.
Man I got to try those artichokes. I love your channel. I love that your son is often featured and then he's a foodie and really knows good food. Way to go dad!
Crazy to see how your son has grown over the period of time I’ve been watching your videos. Love your channel, and recipes! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
I enjoy watching you prepare your recipes, but James's review is everything! I love watching that kid enjoy all kinds of food and then give a really thoughtful review. He's the best!
"Wait, I need to eat more of this." James was eating those dishes like the old 70s vacuum we used to have that would be connected to a slot in the wall that was sucked out to the furnace. Hoover, I tell ya! Happy Thanksgiving. I am thankful for all of your videos and your lovely family. 🙂
Made both of these on Thanksgiving. Everyone was talking about them all day. My sister is planning on making them when we have Christmas at her place. Love watching your stuff, love it even more when I get a chance to make it for my family!
I’m going to have to try the artichoke hearts!! That looks so yummy!! I’ve made sweet potato casserole a few times; however, I only use my aunt’s recipe. Thank you for those two yummy recipes!! Happy Thanksgiving to you all!!
Woohoo, a bonus video this week! This was so entertaining, both dishes look so yummy! I'm making my holiday grocery list and just added a few items ;) Happy Thanksgiving to you and the family 🦃
Now im happy because Mom is always seen in your videos... Such a Lovely family! Amazing side dishes deffinitly a must try... thanks for sharing this....
Oh my goodness... I just love this! James will rate it low but will devour the entire plate within moments! Totally contradictory! It's ok though, we know he truly loves it! 💜
This guys and his family always crack me up! They are so loving, real, and really enjoy each other! If I have a tough day, I watch sip and feast to get some dinner ideas - and I end up feeling like I'm hanging out with the folks I grew up with! Thanks James, give your family a big hug, and enjoy the holidays buddy!
I've made the "Nonna's baked", strangely cannot find it on the you tube any longer... It was so classic, whole artichokes, stuffed with the garlic, breadcrumbs, olives, parm, parsley, plenty of olive oil for braising. One of 'those' most memorable dishes. I grew up on the steamed with a homemade French style mayo and we'd peal and scrape so delicious. Artichokes are wonderful in any way one could enjoy them, this being one of course!!!! 😋👍
Second thanksgiving making these. Made a bigger batch and they're still gone. I was getting requests for these over the last couple weeks. Thanks for these recipes and a lifetime commitment to making these for my family!
Happy Thanksgiving! I wish your son had answered the question about what the extra on the artichoke hearts should be! I think that looks like a great every week side.
I just used your sweet potato casserole recipe for this years Thanksgiving . Very similar to my own recipe . I did use glazed pecans rather than plain . Thank you for this great recipe .
As someone who has made and enjoyed many of your recipes without making changes I trust your confident comment that you didn’t need to change anything.
Thanks you just made my decision for two sides for thanksgiving and I love that they are pretty easy to make and they cook together 😊 love your channel
These both look delicious. I will definitely be making the artichoke dish. I thought I was the only person who makes garlic oil like that. I also add little pieces of parmigiana reggianno to the oil. I then snack on the peices of cheese. Love your channel.
Those sweet potatoes and artichokes look divine! My secret sweet potato ingredient is a tiny tiny dash of cayenne pepper. They aren't spicy at all, but it just adds this little twist to the super sweet sweet potatoes that puts them over the top.
I had just barely submitted my grocery order for Thanksgiving when I saw your video. I have always hated sweet potatoes, but your son was so convincing that I changed my order and am gonna try yours! I love that kid! He is brutally honest and I respect that! The artichoke dish is next.
An 8 is a low score?! 9/10 is perfect flavors and textures 10/10 is a masterpiece; perfect flavors and textures as well as a little something else that no one else has replicated or done.
Looking good! Gonna try these! Thank you for sharing such awesome-ness! (I like to put some orange zest, a bit of nutmeg...js) Blessings for holidays! 🙏🦃⚘
Love your videos, love your taste testers. I recently transcribed a few of your recipes into a handmade cookery book for my partner. They have been winners. (Of course I gave you credit for them!) Thanks so much for everything you do on this channel.
Maybe a little pancetta or bacon 🥓 for the artichokes? I already did my Thanksgiving shopping 🛒 but I’ll definitely be making the artichoke hearts recipe for Christmas 🤤 Happy Thanksgiving 🦃!
But those Artichoke hearts though, OMG!!!! Definitely gonna make those, love stuffed artichoke. I think I would add a little melted butter before serving. Just a little something something ya know. 👍🏻👍🏻
I LOVE pecans with my sweet potatoe casserole! Absolutely! The texture and consistency with the pecans make it. Great work as always - Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
Happy Thanksgiving as well ❣ That was fun! Such a nice wholesome Family. I'm going to make the artichoke recipe for sure!! I'm just not a big fan of sweet potato stuff. However, this looks better than most recipes I've seen.
That artichoke heart dish looks AWESOME! I have never seen the canned ones before but now I know where to get them. I will be trying this one VERY soon. Thanks
I think I’m going to make at least one this Thursday. Probably the sweet potatoes. And, lol. We say Pa- conns down here in Texas. Even though I’m originally from the north shore of Long Island. Then, that super delicious-looking artichoke casserole. I will be making that soon. As always, everything thing you cook is fantastic! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving! Great recipes. Love artichoke hearts. This is a great easy version. I usually bread and fry them, your method is easier. Yes I buy canned sometimes but I prefer frozen Cara Mia brand. No citric acid flavor.
A 8 is actually a decent score from James ,I think he's like me when it comes to artichokes once you have them as dip it's hard to want them any other way , it's like when your dad or uncle gives you piece of their steak that's cooked medium you can't go back to well done, those sweet potatoes did look heavenly...

I really like artichokes, but I'm allergic to them now; what would be a good substitute veggie with the same recipe?
I do a similar recipe with cauliflower that's really good.
@@SipandFeast Thank you so much... I will be in the market for the cauliflower tomorrow.
Nice & pretty simple recipes, esp. the sweet potato casserole. Love your sarcasm disclaimer - funny how people have a blind spot for that online.
I love watching the Taste Testers!! 😂😂😂 Teenage guys, so picky, but so hungry!! He looked so relieve to see two more dishes on the side!!
LOL, this guy and his family do no wrong! Thank you as always and I sure hope you ALL have good holidays coming up.
"Folding device" LOVE it!!!!

I swear this guy can cook anything, mess up, and it’ll still turn out to be a masterpiece. You need a masterclass on cooking!
James is like the guy who writes restaurant reviews like this: "Awesome food, great atmosphere, will return. 2 1/2 stars." 😄 Seriously though, the family taste test and rating at the end was so wholesome, and I loved the recipes. Please keep these vids coming.
LOL!!!!!!
Glad James is keeping his independence (& making funny snarky remarks)! But also nice to see a loving family.
The look on your face is the absolute best when your kid says he hates something you made (without even trying it first) and then eating it all because it's so good. It's all too relatable! Thanks for sharing the recipes!

Those artichokes look incredible, I'm adding them to our menu!!
Me too I just addd it to my menu

Yes! Stuffed artichoke hack! This is how you feed a crowd!
Made both of these on Thanksgiving. Everyone was talking about them all day. My sister is planning on making them when we have Christmas at her place. Love watching your stuff, love it even more when I get a chance to make it for my family!

I did the artichoke for Thanksgiving. I loved it. I do eat the leftovers with pesto. I didn’t expect I’d like artichoke.
LOL!!! GLAD HE FINALLY ADMITTED IT!!! LOOOOL!!! "I know..." Love the family. I hope you all have a blessed safe and fun, holiday Thanksgiving.

I love this comment, thanks so much. Enjoy the holidays!
@@SipandFeast Totally mean it man! Ok, I gotta' chop up a butternut squash! and cook up some spicy sausage for my stuffing!
LOL! Ciao!

Love the taste tester part of the video over the past year... Feels like James is becoming a professional restaurant critic.
Good ol' James, cleans the plate "Feels like it's missing something...". Another plate perhaps.
"listen bro"! I love it!
Haha that look when he says the sweet potatoes are actually really good! Great video, easy to follow recipe and wholesome commentary, good stuff!
Breadcrumbs with white wine and "easy" artichokes for Thanksgiving...I am in heaven.
Second thanksgiving making these. Made a bigger batch and they're still gone. I was getting requests for these over the last couple weeks. Thanks for these recipes and a lifetime commitment to making these for my family!
I love seeing your family try your food. Thank you for the very practical recipes!
“Listen, bro…” I was dying when you said that!
The look on your face at 10:06 - Priceless. Thank You. Happy Thanksgiving. God Bless and stay safe.
I love you guys it’s like watching my family. So heartwarming. I’ll have you know I’ll be making both of these dishes.
Love your videos. Just easy to understand, and you have a great wife and son!
Happy Thanksgiving! I wish your son had answered the question about what the extra on the artichoke hearts should be! I think that looks like a great every week side.
I think he wants it as the dip! Like artichoke dip appetizer at restaurants, so maybe cheeese
I just used your sweet potato casserole recipe for this years Thanksgiving . Very similar to my own recipe . I did use glazed pecans rather than plain . Thank you for this great recipe .
Okay stuffed turkey legs, artichokes, bok choy and cucumbers, with carrot ginger soup. That’s my thanksgiving dinner this year. Thanks for the video.
LOL
I love the family dynamic. Your son is awesome, and I love your wife, too. Great video.
Happy Thanksgiving!
The spiced, candied pecans are really good in sweet potato casserole
As someone who has made and enjoyed many of your recipes without making changes I trust your confident comment that you didn’t need to change anything.
So glad to see you're still nailing it! Thanks for the effort and the great recipes. The best part of your video is your family.
Both sound really good. I add cinnamon to my sweet potatoes. I would also add a little balsamic vinegar to the artichokes.
Yoooooo this sweet potato dish is so popular in the prairies in Canada!!! I thought no one else knew about it. It’s so delicious
Kudos to James eating something he thinks he won’t like : ) I’ll be trying the artichoke recipe. Thanks chef!
Thanks you just made my decision for two sides for thanksgiving and I love that they are pretty easy to make and they cook together 😊 love your channel

That's pretty much how I make my sweet potatoes. Never made artichokes--definitely going to try this recipe! Thank you!
I noticed the child was still eating before he gave his score. I love the banter here with the family
Happy thanksgiving yall!
Thanksgiving blessings to all of you. This is my favorite cooking show🥰

Best tasting ever! I was laughing out loud during the critique and devouring.
Looking good! Gonna try these! Thank you for sharing such awesome-ness! (I like to put some orange zest, a bit of nutmeg...js) Blessings for holidays! 🙏🦃⚘
Happy Thanksgiving. I struggled with the whole artichoke recipe. I’m glad to try this easy alternative.
Looking forward to trying the artichoke dish. Thank you for all you do.
I loved the dry sarcasm bit. Thanks for another great vid.

That sounds gooood. Yummy.
pancetta was my first thought too!
I was thinking BACON too!
Good call on the pancetta
I’m in! After all,EVERYTHING is better with BACON 🥓!!
But those Artichoke hearts though, OMG!!!! Definitely gonna make those, love stuffed artichoke. I think I would add a little melted butter before serving.
Just a little something something ya know.
👍🏻👍🏻
James could not stuff those dishes into his face fast enough!!!!! Great vid!!!!!!!!!! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE pecans with my sweet potatoe casserole! Absolutely! The texture and consistency with the pecans make it. Great work as always - Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Thanks for sharing your recipes; I have tried many and never disappointed.
You are more comfortable lately in your videos.. i like how your being you .. continue. 🎉😊

Your videos are such a pleasure to watch! Thank you so much for sharing!!!
James' scores should be based on the number of bites he takes, lol. What a character.
lol great idea!
That artichoke heart dish looks AWESOME! I have never seen the canned ones before but now I know where to get them. I will be trying this one VERY soon. Thanks
They're always on the top shelf, out of sight!
I love sweet potatoes so much this would be so perfect to make for any celebrations 😁
I will try both receipts
Beautiful 👪 God bless you all.
Happy Thanksgiving 😊
What a nice Sunday surprise to see this video! 🙂
your son is really funny😀 I appreciate your videos, they are always worth seeing so much 🤩
I like a drizzle of maple syrup on my sweet potatoes along with the brown sugar. And butter never hurts either.
Love your sarcasm. I don't make mistakes either.

Happy Thanksgiving! Lots to be thankful for … like 8 1/2s!
I love your family :)) Thank you so much for these recipes!!
Off topic, but I tried the De Cecco spaghetti noodles and WOW are they Great! Thank you for the recommendation! Keep up the good work!

Hot Artichoke dip is gone in seconds after being delivered to the table
Purée a can of chipotle in adobo and add the amount to your liking to the sweet mashed. Omg it really does take it over the top!!
