- Many wrestlers came and gone from AEW in the 5 years they’ve been around but most AEW departures come from contract expiry and it’s very rare that a wrestler is released from their contract early and even rarer in AEW is when they’re released from their contracts by their request. There are a select few wrestlers who CHOSE to leave AEW and today we’re gonna discuss a few of those cases and why they left AEW.

It’s crazy that Santana and Ortiz never won the AEW Tag Team Championship. They were one the best teams on the roster
Blame Jericho for sucking all the energy

They were plans for it but Santana had to take time off because his dad dying.

Honestly, Allie revealing that she only hung out with QT so that she could drain his bank account was pretty fun way to wrap up that storyline in quick fashion.

If only everyone could be as reasonable as kaz was when discussing wrestling nowadays
Not a single thing was literally lost by those releases.
Kaz never hid the fact that he preferred the TNA system so it was expected.
Anyone who kept up with Andrade knew he'd go with his wife so that wasn't a shock.
I recall Kaz Elite Hunter gimmick giving him a renewed feeling but he was booked so bad that tony made him look as a joke. It made more sense for him to go back to Impact
Well they can't sell out arena they're losing ratings they spent millions on osprey mone and okada still cant get good ratings so again I ask how those releases didn't affect it.
In hindsight, not a single thing was literally gained by them being signed, either. AEW is on life support and I love it.

Ok...why? I'm honestly asking. How does the company not existing make your life better or happier? I mean, I couldn't stand The Big Bang Theory, so i just didn't watch it. I didn't read up on what was going on behind the scenes, nor did i check out what was happening in the actors private lives. So I'd hope that my family & friends (FYI, those are people who like you) would make fun of me & tell me how lame I was if I did something like hope to God for it to be canceled 😂😂😂
Tony keeps biting off more than he can chew and signs way more talent than he has tv time for. At least most of them could wrestle on Dark, but once that was gone, that just left Ring of Honor and he fills that show with main roster AEW people too.
Yeah, and because of the inflated roster he feels forced to get everyone involved, leading to convoluted and nonsensical stories. Nothing connects, there's no rewarding payoffs from a built up story, and nothing is explained or hyped up. Khan has the pieces to the puzzle but, doesn't know how to put it together and is just putting pieces everywhere and anywhere.
@@ToxicAvengerCleanYourMind And anytime a decent storyline does get going, someone takes an unnecessary risk, gets injured and the storyline just ends abruptly.
@@christopheraaron8299 Yeah, the only way the roster feels they can get over in that environment is having "5 star" matches which leads to way more high risk moves then necessary. I could throw out a lot of examples, Julia Hart almost breaking her neck by inches comes to mind.
Too many people in limbo because there's too many people, and even when someone genuinely gets over because of their charisma, out of nowhere they're missing with no explanation, and when they come back they're in limbo again ( Starks just jobbed to a flabby jobber and was injured by him because wreckless jobbers will do that)

That’s not what Santana said about why he left he said he felt burnt out and needed a break he just said that to Chris Van Vleet that last bit at the end is a lie. Always fishing for controversy plus you left out that santana wanted to go solo and Ortiz wanted to stay a tag team and that’s why they split not because of booking

Allie left because she has an issue with Imposter Syndrome. There are some interviews after her injury where she talks about it.
I feel like TK punished Allie, for not being able to make Brandi look good. But TK wasting TNA stars, isn't new. Santana & Ortiz are another example. Idk if I buy, Santana & Ortiz were really scheduled to win the tag titles. Omega & Page seem like a long term plan.
That doesn't mean Santana & Ortiz couldn't win the title before Omega & Page and lose it to them

Kazarian was in WWE in the early 00s.... There's actual videos of him wrestling in Velocity and I think smackdown as well
Kaz had 4 televised matches in the WWE during the summer of 2005. All of them happened on Velocity.

I bet Keith Lee leaves as soon as his contract is up. Miro is definitely leaving first chance he gets. Ricky Starks will be in the Performance Center before you know it. Jungle Toddler might jump to the indy scene. Everyone is hoping Chris Jericho retires soon, though I suspect he'll probably die in a wrestling ring.

I had no idea Santana left. Also didn’t know the Santana and Ortiz blow off happened on Rampage. Reminds me of when Crime Tyme's blow off match happened on WWE Superstars.
And also like Crime Tyme, Santana and Ortiz will likely never be seen in AEW again. Unless Ortiz does some jobs before being quietly let go. As is the norm in AEW.
The Penelope Ford & Bunny vs Tay Conti & Anna Jay was probably one of the best matches AEW has ever done, when it was actually doing great. Visually it was really entertaining and stuck out, storyline and wrestler choice wise it actually had a reason and had context. And the thing is, it wasn’t shoehorned in a A show, PPV or title defence/main event. It was just a B show match between midcard talent, but it showcased the woman’s division REALLY well.
Compare that it now though, AEW’s woman division is abysmal.
Three wrestlers from the earliest days of AEW that didn't get more of a push.
At least Kazarian won gold and the first ever AEW tag team champions, that's a pretty good accolade. Allie The Bunny should've definitely been featured more, she's a former TNA/Impact Knockout's Champion I think. Lastly Santana as well as Ortiz should've definitely had more time in the tag team scene.
I'll never forgive AEW, TK, and the Bucks, for Santana and Ortiz breaking up. Because it's their fault for never booking them seriously as a team and as tag team champions, for no goddamn reason. Ortiz was content with his spot and Santana wanted what they both deserved, better. If they were tag champs and taken seriously then they'd still be together. It's TK's fault for only thinking about the Bucks, and the Bucks fault for being jealous EVPs and never booking them as tag champs when they were red hot. Instead they booked themselves as tag champs.
I’m sad to hear Bunny isn’t in AEW anymore. I’ll miss this massive milkers on my TV. 😢

Is it really quitting if their contracts run out and they were not used? People don't quit AEW AEW just sends you home until your contract is up. They just sit on you until you're done
