Thank you once again for your incredibly useful videos. I have a personal request: could you please post more content on the June SAT (2024) reading and writing sections? Videos focusing on central ideas, purposes, scientific passages, and table-related questions would be especially helpful. Your unique approach to tackling specific, tricky questions from past tests sets your channel apart and has been tremendously beneficial for my preparation. I hope you'll consider my request!😊
Thank you!! I am so happy to hear that the videos are helping you! Yes, definitely! I am planning to do that in the next upcoming weeks! Expect more soon =)
SAT vocabulary in context questions hah! It does sound a bit strange, but grammatically it is okay and conveys a clear and logical meaning within the context provided. =) Let me know if you would like me to explain anything further! =)
I think John Smith is perhaps more DESERVING. Smith and Earhart are being compared here. Earhart is celebrated for flying solo, a one-time affair. While Smith cycled across Europe etc , he is not celebrated. Smith lacks the recognition that he deserves. There is nothing uncertain about his place in history. He is not recognized. Moreover, it is preceded by PERHAPS MORE. When something is uncertain, it is uncertain. It cannot be more or less. However, you can be more deserving or less deserving.
Thank you for your detailed analysis and thoughtful comments. You bring up an excellent point about the use of "deserving," particularly in the context of John Smith's achievements and how they might warrant more recognition than they currently receive. Your argument that something cannot be "more uncertain" because uncertainty is binary is also a valid consideration. However, the phrase "more uncertain" is indeed a grammatically acceptable and commonly used expression in English. For example, phrases like "the timeline is even more uncertain" or "the fate of the remaining hostages is now more uncertain" are used to convey that the level of uncertainty has increased or is greater compared to other situations. This indicates that uncertainty, in this context, can be seen as something that exists on a spectrum rather than as an absolute state ... While the passage does compare their achievements, it doesn't explicitly suggest that Smith is more deserving of recognition than Earhart. The comparison seems to focus more on the level of recognition they each have in historical records rather than on making a value judgment about who deserves more recognition. So, I would say: Deserving implies that Smith should be recognized more than he currently is, but the passage doesn't provide enough context to definitively say that he deserves more recognition than Earhart. It only implies that his place in history might not be as well-established or celebrated. Uncertain more accurately captures the notion that Smith's place in history is not as clearly defined or recognized as Earhart's, without making a judgment about whether one deserves more recognition than the other. In summary, I would say that uncertain aligns better with the passage's focus on the comparative certainty of their places in history. But thank you for your comment and making me analyze this one further! ☺️
@@epicexamprep I am certainly more uncertain on the certainty of uncertain as it relates to the more uncertainty of uncertain when uncertain is used in the context of being more uncertain. 😂😂😂
Thank you! Will you do one for December?
