I was at Kroger yesterday and was speaking to an older gentleman. He was buying some hygiene, and I asked him about the sunscreen he picked out. He said he's been using sunscreen for years and doesn't leave the house without it. My husband jumped in the conversation, saying she doesn't leave the house without it either. He bought the neutrogena spf 60. He has really great skin. It made my heart happy!
I purchased the sunscreen on Amazon before knowing about any 'hype'. I like it and, so far, it hasn't bothered my eyes at all, which is a huge deal to me.
I bought the L'Oreal Bright Reveal sunscreen that Dr. Dray reviewed. It is a bit pricey but I bought it on Amazon so I could use credit card reward points to defray the cost. I also bought HaruHaru Wonder Black Rice Moisture Airyfit Daily Sunscreen to give that a go. I've had a miserable time finding a facial sunscreen that I like. 🙃
This serum product was very effective to remove a sunspot on my face that a chemical peel only partially helped. Very rare I can say a topical product helped. Spots were gone after 3 months or so of use.
I love L'Oréal but they're so darn expensive these days. I literally gasped when I saw the Revitalift Laser night cream for a whopping $30 at Guardian (our drugstore here in Malaysia). But I got it anyway for my mom since she is a faithful fan for the past 20 years and her skin is amazing.
I just started using the L'Oréal sunscreen since I read that it's oil free (I have very oily skin in humid Mediterranean weather) and it's working perfectly during my working day in the office and for running daily errands. Thank you as usual, Doc
I can't speak about the serum but i purchased the sunscreen about a month ago and i absolutely LOVE it!! Perfect for my mid 60's slightly oily skin. Amazon has it at a more reasonable price.
I think it is a very good line. The cream with spf 50 in jar had mexoryl 400 for uva1 protection, the serum has fantastic ingredients which include melasyl (also a LRP exclusive like mexoryl 400), the spf fluid has peptides and lha, the peeling is effectively and gentle. This new line is very good.
I tried several niacinamide serums between 5 and 10% and i never noticed a difference. I switched to the isntree hyper niacinamide 20 serum and its a game changer 🤩 i use it every morning with zero issues 😊
thanks for making these videos dr dray! i'm a beauty advisor and get to try a lot of these products for free to help sell them, but your videos always help me understand the science behind the products more and offer better advice to customers rather than just my own thoughts on them. i did get to try this sunscreen! it was nice except for it stinging around my eyes
This stuff is laced with old school fragrance, when I think of serum, it should be runny & quickly absorbed, but this is thick and quite moisturizing, dry skin can almost skip using moisturizer on top. It wi 0:38 ll be returned.
I haven't tried these. I do like L'OREAL and their products. Dr.Dray, you have so much knowledge that I feel like it these could be medical school lectures. IN A GOOD WAY.
Nivea has one that I want because I saw several reviews working, that Nivea Luminous 630 serum. It's cheaper than the Eucerin whitening one. That one from L'Oréal doesn't exists in Brazil yet.... But we have serums from Brazilian brands with blend like that, and it doesn't work in a short time like the one from Nivea. Both have 30ml with not a huge price difference.
@@convenienceandpracticality9032I’ve heard that. But it doesn’t seem like many content creators talk about Australian sunscreen. Besides Labmuffin, obviously.
I think the reason they don’t promote resorcinol or melasyl in this new serum is because they basically made the same product with La Roche-Posay Mela B3 serum and they wanna use those ingredients to market that one.
@@johnguzmandiaz Yeah, I'm not sure, they don't have the full ingredients list on the product page from L'Oreal US. Was basing my previous comment on the information available on Incidecoder, but just realized that can be wrong.

I liked sunscreen with vitamin C better than this one, this one has a tendency to pill in the beard area. But it also looks really matte. Overall a really good sunscreen
They get a thumbs up just for having a sunscreen in the collection itself, a lot of people on social I notice don’t think sun protection is necessary even if they have dark spots.
As soon as I heard it has fragrance I was out. I can’t use anything with fragrance even laundry detergent. Any product I consider the first thing I look for in the ingredients is fragrance. If it’s listed I put it back there’s no reason to go any further. Such a disappointment. Thanks for the excellent review.
Now that I’ve read your comment , there’s no need to continue watching the video I have super sensitive skin, fragrance and alcohol are a HUGE NO for me !
How odd... In EU I can only find a different version of this sunscreen: it is 50+ (not simply 50) and perfumed. Moreover, it leaves a semi matte finish, not at all shiny. It has a fine texture but for some reason - after a few days of constant application - it started to make my skin feel dry, especially around the eyes. It's not a bad sunscreen though
I also felt a sense of cringe when the ultra-violet-toaster overly simplified the effects of the sun in this ultra-simple way and crossed the line into nonsense. That's also why I'm so grateful to you, Doc: Your balance between clarity and depth of content is just right for me. Because you're able to formulate clear, concise messages for me as an average person that still have the level of sophistication and relevance that keep me curious and challenged intellectually although I'm not so well educated. Thanks so much! 🌺
The thing about the toaster really gets around. Pretty sure Lab Muffin called out some creator for conducting a sunscreen test on bread and a toaster several months before the L'Oreal ads started running here.
I just had a look at the version we have here in Australia- here, its called “BRIGHT REVEAL 10% [Niacinamide + Amino-Sulfonic Acid] Dark Spot Serum. And in the description tells us it contains 7.5% niacinimide and 2.5% AMINO-SULFONIC ACID. Thank you for you thoughts on this ☺️ love your opinion! Also, What I still can’t believe also is that they have fragrance Ingredients In The Australian version( mainly a bunch of exfoliants! Z70033950/1).)
why is niacinamide listed so low when it's at 7.5%? strange because I don't suppose any of the acids would be of a higher percentage than 7.5% in a daily serum (not a peel)
I would be interested in a video talking about Loreal Bright Reveal Serum (for dark spots) vs. Vichy B3 Serum for Dark Spots, since they are owned by the same company. Vichy is more expensive but they both have niacinamide.

I have both. The niacinamide serum applies nicely and smells OK. Still waiting for more even skin tone and texture. (I'm on week 3 so still early.) The sunscreen looks gorgeous on your skin, but I don’t like shine on mine. Why do companies put fragrance in skincare for the face? I don’t get it. Does it serve a purpose?
Dr. Dray, can u please do a video on antifungal oil or anti dandruff oil that ai can apply on hair on top and shaft as well. I love my hair moist for a day or two
Hi Dr. Dray What kind of tinted sunscreen in the Europe market would you recommend? I have such a hard time finding one that soothes my skin. Don’t like too much shine or too matte. Need heeelp!!
In Europe the line has two sunscreens, a cream in a pot and the fluid. I bought both as they were 50% off and my skin is loving them but the fragrance in Europe is strong, and smells so so cheap. Why are brands doing this?
Idk why is this serum in some countries different. I'm from the Serbia btw. This serum on my packaging contains 7.5% niacinamide and 2.5% amino sulfonic acid which means 10% completly and no 12%. And I see that the formula is slightly different with others. Texture of serum is light and also pinkish and not white and milky like this one in video. Idk why is this different. However I like this serum very much. Still can't see results though.
Both products don’t have many of the beneficial ingredients in Europe. The serum in particular has just 10% combined niacinamide and hepes and they say on the website niacinamide is 7,5%. I feel like this launch, right before they announced melasyl through la roche posay, is just to make dark spots feel like the next big enemy and ultimately push people towards the LRP serum that’s crazy expensive (here it’s double the l’oreal) as it’s marketed as “the revolution”. I must admit that serum is very nice tho
I wore banana coconut sunscreen to a business meeting. The meeting fell apart! One young man says, why does it smell like the beach? Lol. Next came everybody's vacation plans ...
I have been using Niacinamide (nightly) since first week of November 2023, so that's 7 months now and haven't have any spot brightening or any brightening results. I am disappointed. I had one acne on my cheek in February that healed with a red mark and the mark refuses to go away. I wanted to like niacinamide because it's stability but I am giving up on it and will continue with vit C + E + Q10 for antioxidants (these are in a single product I use in the morning)
I used a niacinamide serum for several months too with no results, but recently tried their glycolic acid serum and it's lightened a stubborn dark spot.
Can you please tell me am I better to later with Tretinoin: Tranexamic acid and Alpha Arbutin OR Timeless Q10 and Paula’s choice peptide booster at night? Thank you

Because they are late to the party, they never had to cut their teeth on learning how to find information, everything is mature and they just use products they don't learn the ins and outs of them
For example, most gen z do not go past page 1 in search results. They are more likely to change the search criteria or ask AI instead. So then they are muscle for manually digging up information never gets developed
I tried the sunscreen, but I only used it twice and don't plan on using it again. It smells like alcohol and it burns. I know everyone's skin is different, but for me I just can't use it.
I don't like L' Oreal at all. Not suitable for my sensitive skin. Over perfumed, too aggressive . Each one of their products contain Salicylic acid, and some of them in combination with vitC. Recently a friend of mine , saw her face ( she takes good care of it) to change in a negative way, basically pretty dehydrated. I asked her if she had something changed in her routine, and told me about a L'Oreal Cleansing emulsion . I checked the ingredients and it contained Salicylic acid, too. She stopped using it, and her face returned to normal. I think the Dermatologists have a great responsibility to address this risk to their customers/ followers. The continuous peeling n renewal of the epidermis may have very destructive results to dryer, sensitive, even normal types of skin. They re weakening the protective barrier
I think a nice slight “ glow” to the face is pleasing, but I don’t want to look like a oil slick. Yikes 😬 I have this trouble too often with different sunscreens, mineral or physical, and I’m not sure why! ( I have combo-drier skin) Help! Any idea or thoughts on that? ( I have even tried using less product.

HEPES buffer was my jam. So much better than Tris
I have melasma...USED EVERYTHING but nothing worked.... a chinese cream worked ❤❤❤worked ...❤❤❤❤
What cream was is? I need to check it out
Some of those Chinese creams can contain mercury which is not good to use.
@@jasmineaustin2114please tell me what it is! I also have melisma. Have tried everything
I'm not crazy about loreal but I think the niacinimide made my spot darker 😢
Both products don’t have many of the beneficial ingredients in Europe. The serum in particular has just 10% combined niacinamide and hepes and they say on the website niacinamide is 7,5%. I feel like this launch, right before they announced melasyl through la roche posay, is just to make dark spots feel like the next big enemy and ultimately push people towards the LRP serum that’s crazy expensive (here it’s double the l’oreal) as it’s marketed as “the revolution”. I must admit that serum is very nice tho
Can you do a video on that new ingredient Melasyl L'Oréal/La Roche-Posay is promoting? LRP reformulated their niacinamide serum with it.
I wore banana coconut sunscreen to a business meeting. The meeting fell apart! One young man says, why does it smell like the beach? Lol. Next came everybody's vacation plans ...
I found your channel from this video but I love "sunscreen and subscribe!" ❤😂
I wish it was cheaper im not spending 30+ dollars on a sunscreen and serum
Yes, they are expensive for drugstore products
On the website in the FAQ section it lists the percentage of niacinimide to be 7.5
I have been using Niacinamide (nightly) since first week of November 2023, so that's 7 months now and haven't have any spot brightening or any brightening results.
Thank you
I am on a break from hydroquinone any good recommendations for a dark spot serum ?
If you check Dr Dray's video, fading hyperpigmentation on the face with arbutin? She links products in that video. But you can also check her hyperpigmentation videos for product recommendations as well.
@@db-gb5xi yes but in the case of melasma are beauty by itself, it’s not enough. I’m looking for a specific serum. I need recommendations because I’ve tried some. I know what ingredients should I use but I’m looking for good recommendations.
@@cristinitaandco Another video of hers is, get the lowdown on melasma from Nov. She also links to other videos for product ingredient/recommendations.
Dr. Dray, what’s your favorite serum for removing age spots for older girls?
Over 18 = woman
Happy Tuesday Dr Dray so excited to be here I live for this ❤️
Greetings David Shabas hope u r well n Happy Tuesday😀👍💜….
@@whitneybrown4067 Happy Tuesday Whitney😀👍
Do you recommend Kristin Hannah?
I think any American spf makes my eyes watery and itchy 😥 I'll stick to Korean... but still on the look out for water resistant options 🤔
What would you recommend for someone who is outside looking for a similar affect without the shiny face. I'm someone that struggles with vitiligo so need something ASAP with a protector like SPF and anti age that doesn't hurt some of my non pigmented areas. I've noticed that this can be an issue
Happy Tuesday all
Dr Dray, i used this sunscreen but my frekles and sun spots increased under this sunscreen, why this happened? Is possible for your frekles and other sun spots to increase under sunscreen? Thank you.
im surprised gen z are that ignorant when information is so readily accessible.
I don’t know what vitamin c serum to use as I am currently breastfeeding
Do you have a good product for Melasma? I know a good high sunscreen.
Have you seen the FDA’s sun screen PSA’s yet? I haven’t
The sunscreen isn’t fragrance free in France. The fragrance is just too over powering for me.
Good to know ~ Thx 4 sharing
Does it fade the spots for anyone that tried it?
Thank you Dr. Dray:) I started using DrIdriss major fade line. I think it’s good:) I’d love your opinion on it if you are looking for something to review!! It’s all fragrance free. Which is important to me. But it’s pricey 😞
I’ve been using those products as well. Would love to get a review from Dr. Dray.
