social media is not about content creation. Its about the collection of data, study of people and a place to sell advertisements. In this Digital era you either have a service or a product you will be selling.
Threads has also really started to nail that close knit community feel that other platforms don't seem to have in the same way. It's more the people using it than the platform, but it's positive!
Agreed! Those of us who are on there are actually engaging a lot more! It's fastest place for growth and the audience is more engaging. It truly is a hub. I think younger audiences like GenZ and maybe Alpha aren't on it as much. But you're absolutely correct.
Wow thanks for this!! I started my channel 4 months ago and really am just flowing through finding my groove building a space for community and not really focusing on the numbers right now. This was great insight, thank you!
I spent years building a Facebook following with a Facebook fan page. Overnight engagement stopped unless you would pay Facebook to promote posts to people who were already following you. And now no one uses Facebook including myself. Moral of the story, I don't care anymore. The most valuable tool is a mailing list, use that to build a real life community. Sack off all the other social platforms, they're just harvesting you for content.
Hey there, thank you for updating us for 2024, I'm interested to see how the diffferent platforms evolve. Wanted to add here that as a vtuber, please do not confuse us with AI. Our avatars are representations, but vtubers are not ChatGPT or anything; we're actually the ones performing behind the screens, making the art by hand, filming the content ourselves, etc. The anime/cartoon look makes it deceiving, but I wanted to note the difference!
I would love to see more people talking about the drastic DECREASE in organic reach specifically on metaverse platforms. I wonder if threads is a different animal since the platform is different. I am focusing more on seo platforms and supplementing my long form content on social media platforms.
Seriously. It's extortion. I'd rather not be online than to pay for them to not hide my stuff. It's disgusting the way they changed how instagram hashtags work.
Btw, my negative comments are no reflection on you and your hard work. I'm just frustrated with social media in general. I appreciate your well made video which I'm sure took a lot of work to research.
I’d love to learn more about the different ways we can use each platform differently. I know u briefly touched on it, but I’m always so confused by what I should post where, that I end up posting everything everywhere 😅
Thank you for your insights! 100% agree on UGC! PAst month I had 4 clients and ALL of them asked to make UGC with using it as an ads ONLY in mind. I didnt post on my channels at all.
Great info. Definitely people need to have a specific purpose for each platform. Some people post the same content on each platform so I end up not watching most of their posts.
I’m starting a job in January for a radio station and I want to check the social growth from when I start - I’d there a software you’d suggest? This video is great thank you!!!!
Social commerce was somewhat of a culture shock for me when I moved to China in 2020. Like, all the apps like Wechat and Alipay had been implementing social commerce well before 2020, I'm sure. And TikTok is a Chinese site.. so It looks like mainland China is effectively influencing world culture while simultaneously blocking its citizens from being influenced by social media and websites based in other parts of the world. Very interesting!
JADE U R BOTH BEAUTIFUL, BRILLANT, AND THE BEST. YOUR CHANNEL IS COMPLETELY OUTSTANDING U R GOING 2 B REALLY BIG. ITS SO MUCH FUN 2 WATCH U WORK. JOB WELL DONE.
The year 2024 brings with it exciting shifts in social media trends. We're witnessing the ascent of TikTok Shop, where commerce meets creativity. Instagram is embracing a visual renaissance, captivating users with immersive content discovery. Meanwhile, the ever-expanding world of Discord communities fosters niche connections like never before. These trends are undeniably worth your attention as we navigate the digital landscape.
I just really love watching your content and getting all the tips! You are an amazing person for sharing all your knowledge and keeping us ahead of trends. Thank you Jade!
I’m not at all interested in ads & go to great lengths to avoid them. For instance, I pay for UA-cam premium, so as soon as I hear an “in video” ad read, I’m out. The more ads grow, the less I want to be online.. no one wants to be constantly crop dusted with people trying to get money from you, for things you don’t need in the first place. If we remember.. this is why we broke up with television.. because streaming had no ads/nor did social media (that was the draw).. now they went and ruined that too.
Probably the biggest reason why threads are coming back is because it's finally allowed in EU. It didn't pass GDPR so it was not allowed in the EU. Now it's allowed in EU and people are massively on there!
I am thrilled to find your channel. This is all excellent content and vital information for content creators like me. I’m almost at 10k subscribers and want to take my channel and socials to the next level in 2024, so I will be watching as much of your informative videos as possible. Thank you! 😊
When talking about Vtubers, they are NOT ai (not a lot of the most popular ones anyway.) A lot of them are just normal content creators using a 3d or 2d model in order to speak through them. And they do a kind of, roleplay pretending to be something they arent like robots, demons, angels, etc. They either design their models or have someone make it for them, but theyre more akin to actors acting like characters. Just wanted to make that clarification so people didn't confuse ai as inherently ai influencers!
Thank you for this I’m new to creating on UA-cam. Been on tiktok a bit and have a good following. But IG it’s been years and it remains small and I do notice it tends to be more for socializing with friends and family coworkers etc. I enjoy UA-cam’s way of simply putting information out there and letting it just get seen (or not). A little engagement in the comments but not as much as IG but with way more earning potential than IG and TikTok Personally i find threads and twitter to be boring. I need more visual. Even though I love literature content.
Except threads is not really approved in EU because of their privacy notice where they want everything from bank info to health info and the GDPR says no no. Meta is also under fire here because they share data with the NSA and other privacy issues where the EU banned a lot of forms of ads.
What are thoughts on Threads shutting down random profiles and in turn those established users were simultaneously getting their IG shutdown, thus losing years of input? I too would live more in-depth direction on the use of each different platform.
Great video, I can't wait for the next one :D Starting and growing your channel is definitely the toughest part, but the thing is that you need to give viewers the content they want to see, the content they can't live without. Same like business owners give people products they need in their life. Also you have to stay hard working and consistent (and you should also use a bit of famester to make everything a lot easier. For me, it feels like I am in control of everything and I don't need to worry about algorithms anymore).
Great video! Subscribed! I am one of those who stopped using Twitter (before it became X). Don't even get me started on that mess. I'm very curious about a Threads comeback!
TikTok shop made me buy things that’s for sure. I definitely could do with signing up to TikTok shop for my spa business. Still trying to grow my Plant-based UA-cam channel, it’s a long process, I remember when I just had 10 subs now it’s 465, still a way to go before I hit 1k, channels like yours are very helpful, thank you 😊
If threads is on the up it might be because they are auto creating accounts. They created one for my IG account, I notice my bio had changed and it had that @handle in it for threads dispite my doing nothing. Sneaky. So if there is an upswing it might be artificial and won't likely last.
Because UA-cam and tiktok are both now long form and short form, so both and repurpose them through shorts or long form scheduling. They’re both search engines now and if you’re answering specific Questions you could find success ❤
Very informative. My biggest concern is that if TikTok is taking a percentage of the sale, then people are directly supporting human abuses in China by the CCP since TikTok is Chinese owned/CCP owned. 😬 It’s sad that so few people care.
This video is extremely helpful as I’m getting ready to figure out my social media strategy for next year. Will take your advice and determine what I will use each platform for building authority and building community
Thanks for keeping us updated, in relation to social commerce, there is a small course I want to do is about digital sales, so it's not the same thing but they share something in common. The Digital Sales course it all about targeting prospects and capitalise on content marketing assets especially via Linkedin. I gave up on social media some time ago because of the 'crafty' side of it, let's see if with AI I might be able to create some video and graphics which I'm quite crap at...
I don't really understand threads. No one ever sees my posts, not even my friends. Plus it's not easy for me to remember... It's like it's in the back of my closet. I would like to see it thrive though
The only way unique social media features will maintain their uniqueness is by some kind of copyright law enforcement. Other than that, competitors only mimic their competitors, not to surpass them, but to at least keep the customers they have who may be drawn away by competitor features.
Loved this video. Saving it for reference. I will say i know AI can be very useful and i like using chatgpt. However, it’s getting scary with these deep fakes, creating things using someone else’s likeness. It’s rumored Krnb singer Dean released a song after years of not releasing solo music bc fans missed him so much were using ai to get song covers from 🙃 I’m still hopeful tho about using this new technology for good
Hi Jade, I just wanted to say thank you for this video😊 Threads was finally launched in EU 2 days ago, and I was contemplating whether to dive into one more app😅 You video pushed me, and I found that there's a flood of other creators from EU joining along😊 It's actually quite exciting now, not sure for how long😅
Well I was hoping for positive changes that would be less "media" and more "social" like it used to be. But it seems like the ads, seller harassment, and people only interested in a come-up will only get worse. So my accounts will remain deactivated I guess. Reddit and UA-cam it is. (I'm lowkey in favor of an internet apocalypse 😒.)
I think authenticity will be a driving factor this year. Generating Ai content will be frowned upon on discovery, id lean more to AI content as a framework for content, using your own words to paraphrase AI content will be the smarter way foreward.
This was helpful. I agree that UGC isn't going anywhere but will be essential for businesses to build their brand. It's comparable to Word of Mouth. Also, I was against AI at first. but then realized how much it increased more productivity creating collateral for my clients. AI also helps with getting "out of your head" or at least its helped me with that.
Hey Jade, I put ur video on 2x speed and it was way better. I think u could do alot better in terms of views if u upped the speed of ur content by like 1,5x
We're living in a time of insane changes. Good luck to anyone who knows how to navigate the landscape and find ways to pay the bills. You got this!
social media is not about content creation. Its about the collection of data, study of people and a place to sell advertisements. In this Digital era you either have a service or a product you will be selling.
GIRL!!!!! You are really tuned in and I feel like everyone who has your content and resources will succeed. Thank you!

🤣🤣 sure

Engaging and Practical! Great kick off to the year ✋

Very informational video and it seems like I have no growth on social media at all
what type of growth do you expect my brotha???
Such a good video! I think you’re the only creator to call it social commerce. I see it taking over the world in 2024.
Threads literally surged a few days before the New Year and his been flooded since. Jade doesn’t miss!
The clarity on your filming is beautiful! I found you on a podcast and I’m a big fan!
Btw, my negative comments are no reflection on you and your hard work. I'm just frustrated with social media in general. I appreciate your well made video which I'm sure took a lot of work to research.
Threads was just launched in the EU, I believe that's why it had such a peak of downloads
I’d love to learn more about the different ways we can use each platform differently. I know u briefly touched on it, but I’m always so confused by what I should post where, that I end up posting everything everywhere 😅
With you on this!!!
Threads is getting pushed all over the place now too. I can see it having a comeback bit I don't even know how to use it lol
Thank you for your insights! 100% agree on UGC! PAst month I had 4 clients and ALL of them asked to make UGC with using it as an ads ONLY in mind. I didnt post on my channels at all.

We're in the Threads frenzy right now in the EU. I like the moderation capabilities there.

I rarely write comments on UA-cam. But this was so helpful and well talked through, thank you!
Another awesome video from Jade keeping us aware of the social media trends and updates for 2024. Love 🥰 the video and love 💕 Jade.
So glad you found it useful!

This video was great and informative. Looking forward to the changes of 2024!
Gracias, eres la mejor!! Saludos desde Chile💚
I completely agree with your threads theory. I'm excited to see where it goes.
Im really wasn’t interested in these types of videos but i sat and watched yours from beginning to end. I think you out me on to something new 😎

I do love TikTok shop is amazing but a little confusing. Thank you for showing us this it’s very helpful
THIS is the correct advice for 2024
Thank you, your videos help me more every day!
i think the trend will be people realizing social networks having no reach for business any longer so they will decrease usage in general
Thanks Jade this was very informative - I may rethink Threads

Where should a new Holistic Health and Wellness creator start: UA-cam, Instagram, Tictok or ???
Because UA-cam and tiktok are both now long form and short form, so both and repurpose them through shorts or long form scheduling. They’re both search engines now and if you’re answering specific Questions you could find success ❤

Social media has become the bane of existence for young people....
