That's awesome Jay, to my surprise I just did a 3 night Algonquin trip... but there were no bugs... in July! The shelter was still useful in the rain and to block some wind of course hehe
Hey man! I'm the one that asked about your set up on your last vid so thanks for taking the time for this. I've already ordered what I need to do this so this is great!! Appreciate muchly! #Inspirationalshit Thanks again Bud! Chris
Thanks Kevin! The DD sleeve is only 10f long but would still work for a VCS16 I'm sure, I use another one for a DD XL tarp (15fX10f) you just slide most of the tarp in it and stuff the ends... these sleeves really swallow gear!
I use much smaller snakeskins for all my tarps but these DD XL sleeves can really swallow a lot of gear like the NoBugZone. One of those pieces of kit that aren’t necessary but you really appreciate over time.
The clever snakeskin stash/deployment gained a subscription there Jonathan! I'm weighing ordering that sleeve from across the pond against a diy/myog rig--would you advise to go less than the 30cm width or not for the CT13?
Thanks Starlightrider! I have never tried a narrower sleeve so I cant give you exact dimensions but for sure the VCS13/Nobugzone would fit in a narrower sleeve than the DD's 30cm. I wouldn't go too narrow because as you slide the sleeve over it definitely does get bulky/thick past the half way point. Also just quality of life, the extra width of the DD makes sliding the sleeve on fairly easy compared to having to carefully roll or fold in the shelter to make it fit like I have had to do with a lot of narrow tarp sleeves and hammock tarps. The perfect sleeve would probably be in the 20-25cm range and longer than the DD's 9-10f so you don't have to tuck in all the excess shelter that sticks out past the sleeve edges. Personally if mine ever needs to be replaced Ill probably just buy another DD XL sleeve, they are made very tough, pulls strings at each end to close them off and aren't that expensive. If you do try and make your own I hope it works out great for you! Side note, if you do order from DD its worth seeing if there is other stuff you want from their site. If your order weighs less then 500g they ship it by snail mail, over 500g you get the order sometimes the next day and in my case the orders that arrived fast didn't get any taxes/duties added, small orders did.
Dude! The sleeve and ready setup with prusuks on the ridgeline is brilliant! Love it.
Thanks man, glad you enjoyed!
I had just recently received my order of my no bug zone and had yet to set it up. This video will help out immensely. Thanks.

Hey Chris! Thanks for the suggestion! I love this setup, hope you do too!
I have the VCS16, I so have to get mine rigged up better. LOVE your Setup.

So this can be fully self-supported (without additional poles) when one has two trees?
Correct, it hangs from a ridge line suspended between 2 trees and you just need some stakes to pull out its shape.
awesome Idea... a lot like my snake skins for my hammock... I may look into this for my No Bug Zone... Dennis

Love the toggle set up. Thanks for that!
I like the fast setup 👍
