Thanks Michelle! You are in my prayers as well. I was encouraged by you and others, to show the good, the bad, and the ugly. I also wanted to show the problems lyme sufferers deal with, job loss, financial struggles, etc.
Hi Bill. I admire your strength and resolve in fighting Lyme and having this channel to document your journey and communicate about the disease. You and I are similar in many ways. We're about the same age, an engineer (electrical), and I've also been through several downsizing at work. I've been following your channel since I was diagnosed with Lyme and coinfections 3 months ago. I want to tell you that I went for a second opinion last week and was told that I definitely do not have Lyme! Please don't get upset with me when I ask...have you gone for a second opinion? I have an excellent Lyme specialist here in CT (ground zero for Lyme) In fact he started treating Lyme patients in the early 80s at his office in Lyme, CT. I would be more than happy to pass his info on to you. What can it hurt? Is it possible that sometimes as humans we believe something to the point we close our eyes to other possibilities? I'm not saying this is your case, just thought I'd ask.
thanks ICU8 12, Ya my lyme brain can't remember if it was you I had the conversation about second opinions? My lyme literate doctor was my second opinion, and confirmed even more that I had lyme (which was originally off my radar), and then that I also have babesia and bartonella (which I had previously never even heard of). I am curious how a doctor could say definitively that you don't have lyme, as most of the tests are ridiculously inaccurate. Did they do actual culture tests, or some of the newer DNA tests? I know lots of people that had multiple false negatives with western blot, but do have confirmed co-infections so are treating based on that. Are you treating the co-infections?
So glad you decided to share your struggles and also Gods provisions in your life with us. Many of us have been on a wild ride and its still going. Thankful also for God's provisions in our life. Wow! Way to go with going back to school that is so awesome! I too have thought about going into school after raising 2 boys last 20yrs. I too dont like uncertainty and prefer security etc.. but this is how God works to help us rely on Him more and more. Prayers for your brain and for the ability to be able to study and retain. :) Thanks for being transparent.
thanks Jenn! Ya lyme is a wild ride, did you ever see the cartoon Horowitz shows in his talks "The Lyme Hell Ride"? By the way I hate amusement park rides!! LOL. Ya in the last several years the Lord has really been teaching me to rely on Him, what I spoke about was the tip of the iceberg. I also had always wondered about going back to school, but was busy working and raising kids and doing my own things. Well it is very interesting how this is working out... Ya I took your advice on being transparent. Thanks!
I love that you shared more about "you". G-d has a plan and he sees way further than us. Perhaps all this is to save you from a worse fate? I love school, even with lyme brain i am sure you will do well :)
Thanks Stacy! I had always wanted to study more, but there was never time or money. As long as I have to be home sick, it may as well be productive. I don't know what He is preparing me for???
God answers prayers in mysterious ways.
No need to feel you need to explain unless you want. I will always pray for you.
Thankyou for sharing Bill.
Thoughts and prayers as always!!!
❤
