It makes sense that Edgeworth became a Prosecutor, his father was a defense attorney and believed he should defend the weak. In this case since his father was killed and the defendant won he no longer see's the Defense as a side for him anymore. Being a Prosecutor and always giving guilty verdicts is his only way to cope with the DL-6 Incident.
I find it bizarre how Edgeworth was smugly in Turnabout for Tomorrow in Dual Destinies, He should've understood how he was in this situation once before like Athena, how he was traumatized as a child with his father dying and him being accused of Murder soon enough.
@@gamersinacontainer I mean, in 4/5 cases in the original game the killer is in fact one of the witnesses, Turnabout Goodbyes is the only case in which that does not occur.

W...wait. They arrested Edgeworth...because there was no evidence??? And that's a clear-cut case? _What?_ Is there something I'm missing or are the legal gymnastics of getting evidence just not a thing in Japan?
Okay I concede that the fingerprints are damn good evidence, but I absolutely do _not_ agree that a photograph that might as well be a charcoal sketch of two department store mannequins would ever be accepted as conclusive evidence by a court of law. I should clarify that I did enjoy this case, and I absolutely love how silly the games are, but the number of clues in this particular case that I am absolutely baffled were not brought up at the _very beginning_ of the case is giving me a migraine. Like why noone brings up that there is a bullet unaccounted for _the entire first day_. It's just very odd that they do the whole "Give players clues so they can solve it on their own thing," so well in some of the earlier cases, because this case treats _every_, _single_ clue it addresses as "WHO COULD HAVE SEEN THIS. EUREKA. MY GOD, SECRETS AND LIES, SECRETS AND LIES!" All the other cases before this, it feels like a lot of the things you can figure out are accomplishments, moments the player can have (if they try) that the game has to point out for the sake of folks that didn't see it. The justifications for the ways clues are presented in this case are just weak, and I feel like it's just because it was a plot-central case they wanted to soup up dramawise as much as they could. I just don't think it worked, you know?
I heard Edgeworth was supposed to be 36 years old, however the staff thought Phoenix would be too young to have him as a rival. So they decided have Edgeworth and Phoenix share the same age.
In the original Japanese text here Gunshoe says Edgeworth was mumbling “Just what I expected from Wright.” So it is more of a secret acknowledgement to Phoenix from Miles.
Heh, I haven't played through this case yet, but I've got a feeling I already have a couple suspicions about which facts of the case are wrong based off of current evidence. My observations before I move on: 1) The "shooter" is actually a log in the middle of the lake. Edgeworth was probably curled up in a ball on the bottom of the boat because of the rocking and swaying. Someone else who saw the log thought it was "Gourdy." 2) Why is the camera set to go off with a loud sound? And why is it pointed at the lake if Ms. Hart is looking for meteors? My guess is she was set up to be a witness to the incident. 3) The presence of the poppers nearby makes me think that the "gunshot" wasn't a gunshot at all. Maybe the victim had an on shore accomplice who set off the popper, which was the cue for the victim to fall into the lake. He swam ashore, where the accomplice killed him, OR the victim was already dead, and the man in the boat was someone else entirely. 4) Either way, Lotta's probably in on it in some capacity as an accomplice to the framing of Edgeworth, if she isn't the murderer herself.
