How To Fix Brompton Gear Shifter Problem - Bahasa Malaysia

It's really annoying if we have a difficulty in changing gears during riding especially when going uphill!
I have to press hard further down the shifter from gear 3 to gear 2 and it's really make me sick!
So here is my solution, hope it's help.

Amazing! It worked great, just took about a half hour to do, filed about .5mm off the noted surfaces with a jewelers file.

Bro, my new shifter only has problem shifting down from second to first gear, I need to press down harder to get the first gear engaged, I have no problem shifting up 123 and 3 to 2. Do you think I also need to get the hook ground as well?

I would like to understand what goes wrong in the shifter that can be solved by doing this. I have the same issue on my lever but I really don't understand the issue and why triming a piece, meaning using it a little more, can solve the problem. Thanks for your explanations :)

i think the real problem is worn out parts. you don’t need to trim that parts, just push the lever little further to change gear. but for me its really annoying. then the idea just came out so i tried and it work. thats all. i have no other explanation 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Is there any way to move the shifter away from the brake? I want to locate the shifter to different location but it attached to the brake.

i dont think so. the position is already perfect for our thumb to reach. may be you need an aftermarket brake lever and shifter which is separated
