No, it’s a little tight but when you figure the right angle to remove it it’s easy. However it’s close to the pipe, so you might not want to check the oil with a hot engine. Might burn your fingers.
nice bike. quick question. i just bought my first bike, also a 97 dyna wide glide. wondering what you know about the tick. i seem to have one. doesnt affect anything, have been told its very common. this bike i was told had a big bore kit. unsure of size. still trying to locate numbers on jugs.
I have a few questions for you since I have the exact same setup. 1. What jets did you go with for your carb? I have a decel pop that I cant seem to quite get fully rid of. 2. Did you have to do anything special with your rear brake master cylinder/reservoir? On mine, the bracket that mounts both pipes to the trans has pushed up against it and the cap to keep brake fluid in is now off(basically cant use my rear brake right now). 3. Lastly, eventhough this has nothing to do with the exhaust, have you expericed the dyna wobble yet? Thanks
Well I had already increased the size by 3 when I started using fuel with ethanol in it, so it worked out without changing the jets. Interesting about the rear brake, mine clears just fine. No I have not expierenced the dyna wobble. But I do know that that on most bikes the wobble is created by something in poor mechanical condition, and that on these dynas the motor mount being tight and in good condition is critical.
@@GreatMotorcyleridesWashington was it the big jet you had changed out? I'm trying to avoid ordering more parts than I need. I have too many parts just laying around as it is. And it's always good when you can ask someone who has already done the same thing, it helps gives insight on what I need to look/shoot for. I wouldn't say it's in poor condition, but in need of looking at. It gets tough trying to work on the bike after work. Hopefully I can free up a weekend for once and focus on getting it done. Motot mounts(front and rear), neck bearing, and tightening EVERY nut & bolt. Gotta love harleys for that. But I say all that to say this, we appreciate videos like this that helps us with questions we might have so that we can save money and spend it on other things. Keep them coming.
@@AJ-nh8ik I changed the pilot jet, the smaller one that the needle runs through. The larger jet is not really used until you open the throttle way up.
My dude is like the Bob Ross of motorcycles
I had the same pipes on my 95 and I was fighting a rattle for months. I suspected the pipes but I'm glad to hear you say the same thing!
My old pipes I used to have to sit at an intersection with my foot pressing on them to make the damn rattle stop.
I'm fixin to change my pipes today. This video helps alot. Thank you for this.
Excellent. Best wishes
Do you have any problem accessing the engine fill cap with the short shots? I’ve heard some say you have to loosen rear cylinder pipe to get to it.

I'm looking at putting a set on my stock 93 heritage. Just wanted to know if you got a much of a performance bump
Very slight. A little more on the top end, a little less on the low end.

Usually valvetrain noise. Not uncommon with engines that have been modified. Not usually a big deal.
Hard to say on a bike that is as old as our, especially when the engines have been modified. Probably a pushrod length issue. Probably no big deal

Well that was a waste of time
Sorry
