I like the shuttle jab at drivers haha. I say the same thing about equipment operators. Most important thing on equipment is the ac. Forget about leaks or blown hydraulic cylinders

What if ac works while driving but not in idel even hight idel?
Just curious ,I have 2 identical trucks 2023 international A26 both were in same shop .
The day I picked 1st truck up the air would freeze you it was so cold. I drove about 300 miles got a little cool in truck so I turned air off. When I turned it back on later the air stopped cooling and did not work again.
Put it back in same shop picked up my other truck air was working great turned it off and cut it back on later and it's not cooling again either same as first truck.
My luck can't be that bad. Can someone rig a system to fail after it is cut off and turned back on ?
Ive changed the compressor n n dryer got it charged it blew cold for about a week then found a leak on the i think low pressure line that goes to the condenser then realize the condenser is leaking to do i have to replace the dryer again after relpacing the lines and condenser and vaccume it again?

There are many types of compressors not just piston style. Moisture or noncondensible gasses will deprive the AC components of proper lubrication.
True... But, I've NEVER heard of a 'Non Compressible' Gas ??
6th item : sensors ...ac pressure sensor and temp sensor on top of ur cabin fan, 7th: ur cabin fan, make sure it works
Plus the cab air filter is actually located in the engine compartment on the firewall

never use the cans with leak sealer because it will clog the orfices
I drive a Mack 2019 truck
A/C only works when Im driving, if i shut off and turn on the engine.. it wont work.
Anyway, i had a TA mechanic take a look at it and he fixed it by changing the AC Control Panel. He found blower motor not blowing and had no power.

Hello I have a freightliner Cascadia has no cold air in front but has cold air in rear , I did replaced EXPANSIVE VALVE on the front side, recharge the freon , but it did not change anything , front still has no cold air, and rear has really cold air . Do you think the new EXPANSIVE VALVE is not working or maybe something else cause front AC NOT cooling at all？If you have time please let me know I appreciate ， thank you

Jun, check to see if the evaporator is getting cold in the sleeper. Also, ensure the sleeper blower is working. If the A/c is cooling, then it is not freeon related... There may be a restriction of airflow.

I think I may need to bring my truck to you guys because the the frieghterliner dealership here in Mississippi must not know what they are doing. when im driving it is cooling fine but when i stop and idle it does not blow as cold. Took it to the dealership and all they said it was low on freon. They checked for leaks and said there wasnt any leaks. But why is the A/C doing the same thing then? Tired of giving them $1,000.00 each time for nothing
It may be a fan switch. It cost $100. It is located on the firewall on the driver side. Had the same situation occurred to me when idling. Once it got replaced. It worked immediately. Give it a try before taking it to another shop.

How often does a system need to be evacuated and recharged? Would you say every few years? Thank you.
The system could go a long while without having to evacuate and recharge. As long as cabin air filters are changed and the system is still cooling adequately, evacuating and recharging is unnecessary.

Shop put 3lbs. Of freon in my mack truck and it blows semi cold. 😢

Your mechanic pointed to a junction block not the actual front a/c expansion block. It is n the front firewall further back on a cascadia. Research your material .

My truck only blows cold air when I'm driving, man I've changed everything idk what to do anymore. It's horrible.
Make sure the engine fan is turning on while sitting. The engine fan should turn on and off to cool all the condenser. It may be a high-pressure switch

I had that same exact symptom on my Freightliner Cascadia. A week ago. Took it to two shops and both claimed it was a compressor. Spend a little over 1800. I went to a third shop across state lines. After 2 hours of diagnosing. They found out it was never any of it. Apparently it is a thing called "fan switch". It is attached to the firewall on the driver side. Once they replace that which cost $100, it started working immediately. The Fan did its job while idling now. So try changing the fan switch. See if it works for you as well. One of the most overlooked items.
Mines blows ice cold when parked but the sleeper is like a oven when moving..
How much does it cost to fix all that shit?

When an a/c system fails, repairs include replacing expansion valves, dryers, and possibly the compressor. Anytime the a/c system is opened, the dryer must be replaced and the system correctly charged to ensure adequate cooling.
Never buy a semi truck.

Went and got a recharge kit and it was low on Freon so I put it to the green and it’s blowing ice cold hopefully it stays that way and I don’t have a major Freon leak somewhere

I notice mine gets warm after driving a bit.

Properly serving an a/c system is essential to ensure correct cooling. I would recommend having the system troubleshot
