- A familiar face returned to Grassmen HQ when Mike from McHale visited to demo the C460 trailed silage feeder and straw blower, and Donkey took the opportunity to see if the wee Deutz was up to the task.

It’s the nut on the seat that has the most influence wether the tractor will run the chopper 😀😀
we have the same straw chopper it is very good we used to role out bale by hand never go back use it for straw and a few silage bale as we use a Keanan for pit grass we also put quadrant bales in it as well works good
Great machine can't fault it blowing straw or feeding silage it's a top machine 👌 Mc Hale got it perfect 👍

Nice multitasker that isn't overly complicated
Most straw blowers have a heavy duty mode which does both straw and silage

Works well with clamp silage, haylage, straw and hey even rammed full best straw chopper feeder on the market wouldn’t have anything else

Are there options with C460 like camera, storage for net rubbish/tools etc, would like small box for feeding grain or lick blocks out for sheep.

With regard to the silage bales,do the cows eat the net, and with the newer fusions useing the plastic instead of net,would it be very awkward to remove said plastic with a heavily chopped bale with out it falling to pieces. Very nice machine tho.

We have a Deutz-Fahr dx 4.31 exact same tractor as in the video but without turbo
Its a DX 4.51

I paid €16,500 four years ago. No complaints, well made.
With straw comes stones tho. Would b a dangerous boy to shoot a stone out the spout and probably do plenty of damage

Mchale are great at copying other top manufacturers. Lely and now Kuhn.
Mchale copy , its same machine as a Teagle , how Mchale can say they designed it , same as there baler , ok fair play they take a machine and make it better but still its not a new concept like this advertisement video is suggesting, i have at teagle years , it won’t feed silage that well its slow and not economical to feed silage , spread straw perfectly , dont expect it to handle wet second cut
