I have a love/hate relationship with the sound of the Miata. It sounds very unique, and pretty badass. But at its core, it sounds like a faulty vacuum cleaner. Overall? 8/10 would listen again.
im no expert but i feel like you should just push the car until u spin out and then drive just a hair under that. also shouldn't u be sliding the long corners for rally?
Jacob Coffelt He has to keep that a lot of pro rally people have them they just tune them to the race he needs the lift and mud tires that’s why he grips up well he just has to push the car.
The problem is the lift is so high that his center of gravity is waaay to high. If he tries to corner too hard he’s gunna roll and then there goes the rally Miata
7:12 someone rally racing a Camry!!!! I knew I couldn’t have been the only one to realize the hidden potential of The Camry on dirt. MAJOR kudos to that dude and I really hope to see him more on rally events all around.
GavGo69 if you’re being sarcastic and car shaming someone, then you’re really unoriginal and you suck😊 because Camry or not (btw it wasn’t my moms it was mine lol), I still ripped around and had fun, which is more than you will ever do lol
Oh man, your content is becoming more mature and less ricey. I've been a sub for a couple of years now, since molly appeared on the channel. And boi oh boi let me tell you - your content is amazing. Keep up the good work!
Awesome video as always, Caleb! I don't know anything about the nature of rallycross, however maybe one thing you could consider doing is putting a steeper gear in it. I'm sure you know but, for the most part when you're racing, at least in autocross you want to keep the car in the power range. I'm guessing at 3-4k rpm the rally Miata isn't being pushed to it's potential. Maybe the Subaru trans for the AWD swap will have a closer ratio and help out with that? Excited for you either way!
I don't think it was a matter of being or not being in the power range, it felt like he was just cruising a lot. I'm no pro pilot, and definitely a nobody when it comes to rally, but he should be either accelerating or braking, and it felt like he had a lot of times just cruising at the same speed.
Always give props to people trying new things, and you said it yourself, you weren't pushing very hard, but got way better by the end. Having been driving off-road for many years I can say for sure you'll get the hang of it in no time, just have to build up your confidence.
Good stuff, Caleb. Looks like a lot of fun. I haven't done any off road stuff, but I'll tell you some things I picked up watching your driving that can make you faster. Try your best to keep your hands at 9 and 3 on the wheel. This won't always be possible, but you want to try keeping your hands there until it's necessary to remove them. At that point, you want to smoothly pull off your lower arm and move it to the top. Also be aware of any time you steer more than 180 degrees and try to reduce those instances. It takes practice, but when you do this a lot you have a much better idea of how much steering you're doing and how to reduce excessive wheel movement. Enter certain corners slower to get back to full throttle earlier. Taking different cars out of it, the fastest guy on track is usually the guy who stays at full throttle the longest. Rather than blipping the throttle several times through a turn, it's fastest to wait until you can commit to full throttle without lifting all the way up to the next corner. Remember, it doesn't count unless you can get back to FULL THROTTLE quicker. Getting back to partial throttle is easy. If you can keep your hands set at 9 and 3 for longer, steering only as much as absolutely necessary, and staying full throttle for longer, I promise you that you'll see your times come down. If you like podcasts and want to get serious about improve your driving, check out the Speed Secrets Podcast with Ross Bentley.
Gingium try to match the gear ratio with the power band the car should feel like it is instantly pulling when throttle on that way when you throttle off you get more engine breaking. Needs to be in the power band more???
hey DR. Gingi I'm not sure if you have heard of the dirt fish rally school i was thinking that it would be reaaallllyyy cool if you and dirt fish did a collaboration and they helped you learn about rallying. Dirt fish is not only a school on rally but they do have a youtube and they mostly run wrx and brz's on their courses their knowledge on rallying a rwd car with mostly the sam hp as your supercharged miata could definitely give you an advantage in the rally scene. love the videos brotha ( no I'm not copying TJ hunt with the "DR. Gingi" thing it just sounds like a baller rally name for a bald dude in a lifted miata)
Pro tip for rallying quickly in the dirt. turn in early. and like when I say early I mean really early, you'll get some understeer when you're moving really quickly but then it will dig in. You'll get the hang of it, super excited to see a UA-camr putting out rallycross content now! Also, lose the mud tires, get snow tires.
when you do the subaru swap, get some good rally tires instead of those mud tires, i think you would feel alot more comfortable out there. It will be alot more responsive in the turns. You did great.
hey man you may need a different gear ratio so you can keep it in 2nd all the way around or at least most of the way, that would shorten your times a lot!
I think 2nd gear might be to high of a ratio cause remember it's a miata with about 120hp on a good day and 35in tires I say staying in 1st and keep the rpms right in the power curve so he can keep those corners slightly sideways
I love the build videos. But the events are great. And you seem so much more relaxed and freed at events. And I get why, it's your hard work paying off. Keep up the good work Caleb.
Hey Gingium, you need to be higher up in the revs when you’re doing your runs. Your supercharger gives you more torque than HP so you need to be tapping into the higher revs for more HP. Your cars center of gravity seems to be high which when turning causes your car to dig itself into the dirt sideways which you would think is a good thing, but... not so much. You might wanna put a hydro brake on the Rally Miata, and maybe some smaller wheels. These things might help you improve a bit. You might also wanna get some gloves when rallying because they allow you to have more grip when one-handing the wheel during shifting and handbrake turns. Also. Remember the Rally Miata is a tail happy beast and don’t be afraid to let her get loose. I noticed you holding back a bit when she broke loose. You’re on dirt. That loose feeling is a good thing. Overall, great job. I look forward to learning more by watching your videos and I wish you luck on your next event.
The Real Dro The 1.1 exactly bro! Knowledge goes a long way in the world. Especially when it comes to motorsport! My friends dad used to be a rally cross driver in the early 2000s and from watching the little footage there is of him ripping it, staying in the gas seems pretty important.
My only advice ging is have fun. Trying to push to fast in any event can be not only destructive to your rig but Discouraging and stressful on yourself. Like the videos man keep em coming!
That was great! I really like the camerawork, especially the third person zoom camera work that Pasha did. And don't beat yourself up about not being as good. I'm sure you'll improve pretty fast too.
First off, I am stoked to see you actually have a bit of fun again. You seemed pretty down in the dumps a little while ago, when things just weren't working out with the Van and the RX-7. Now you actually have some energy and enthusiasm. The Miata is looking great. Gonna be a lot of fun when she's a Frankenstein's monster of Subaru and Mazda. I did overall like the camera angles you had. They made for an exciting watch, certainly. Overall, pretty good video. I still think some things could have been done better on the bus but you've already said you plan on redoing that at some point, so that's awesome.
First time is always the hardest cause your all new to it. If the car isnt making noises, your not pushing it hard enough. These off road turns with those tires should be good practice with drifting too. Great video man, its all a learning experience. Local Hanover park guy here too
Glad you had fun, it was great to meet you. Hope I didn’t scare Pasha to bad. Looking forward to seeing his video he made. Few tips I can give you is during break time don’t be such a loaner. Walk about and talk to the faster guys, we all where slow once. I have gotten half of my knowledge by talking with other drivers. Ask the faster guys to ride with you almost no one will tell you no. Ask for ride alongs. Get as much on track time you can, it really does help.
Loved the vid, ging! Can't wait for the next events you're going to. Something that I would maybe include in the camera angles is one of you. Even though you're in a helmet, it'd be cool to have some perspective of you :) Keep up the good work as usual
Gingium don't put yourself down so much! You seem to be doing very well with driving and everyone has to start somewhere. You definitely don't suck at driving
Thanks for coming out and racing with us! The key to getting faster is seat time, so make sure you come back again to future events in DMVR or Iowa Region SCCA 😉
The best for showing speed shots are gopro from center roof looking back and forward. It shows the cars body vs the moving ground. Makes it more exciting.
Miata engines are literally built for boost applications (pre nc). I would set the Rev limiter to 7k, and just push it to the max. Unless if you got new valve springs. Either way, If you built it correctly it won't fail you on the track... Just bring basic spare parts. Good job btw!!! Keep up all the good work, practice, and bottom line have fun!! ✌️
as always nice video man!! i believe that if all events are like this then you definitely have to lower the miata and maybe change your tires! weight transfer at gravel is very important so lowering your car must be your number 1 priority...what i recommend is watching rally videos ( wrc , rx and all these) so that you can understand the way you drive a car at the gravel and learn faster!! (there is a Colin McRae video with a journalist that explains all the gravel Technics its awesome)
I have a love/hate relationship with the sound of the Miata. It sounds very unique, and pretty badass. But at its core, it sounds like a faulty vacuum cleaner. Overall? 8/10 would listen again.
XD hahaha too real
Needs less supercharger noise so you can hear the engine.
Some Weeb said no1 ever
Less muffler for optimum supercharger to engine noise ratio.
badass?
Put the bus on the trailer and pull it with the rally Miata lol
lel
Gingium it'll take the weight lol
TheWolverine0657 in ur dreams

When you've been here since he had Fred the Focus and to see him now is awesome.
IkaFang I've been since the middle of the turbo miata. I had to make a Gmail account so I could subscribe to him later.
I have been watching him since Fred The Focus but I only subscribed when he started the rally miata
im here when he do the sticker bomb in fred the focus lol subbed when he bought molly
IkaFang I know right?! I’ve been here for at least 2 years and he’s grown so much along with his channel.
I haven’t been here that long. Started following him since he started doing Forza content.
Man, that steering wheel would look great in my ‘90. It’s too bad he hasn’t seen ANY of my comments about BUYING it! Love you Gingium!
FourBangerFilms Everyone like this so my mans can get his wheel
I wanna see more Rotary content. OH WAIT
ohhhhhhhhh :(
Shooting Cars savage
Someone say Rotary content? ;)
And what about some WRX Subaru content ?
(ik it's really old but whatever)
ooooooooooooooooooof😭😭
I'm really excited to see you using your cars at an event! It's certainly been a while!
Yes it has
You've been killing it lately with these vlogs caleb, from the content to the amazing edits. Keep it up bro 👍
Edit: how about that weather lately!
People who pour the milk first should never be trusted
Andd 😂😂💀
Andd in the same category as people who wear socks with sandles....
Andd or people who put broccoli in spaghetti, or pineapple on pizza
I've never heard of broccoli in spaghetti. Definitely a slapable offense.
Ryan Fritz what about people who put spaghetti in tacos?
The rally Miata sounds like a electric scooter
Collin Mageean It sounds like a supercharged miata
Alebone woahh....
Okay
It sounds even more ridiculous in person.
im no expert but i feel like you should just push the car until u spin out and then drive just a hair under that. also shouldn't u be sliding the long corners for rally?
Jack Suminsby True
Jack Suminsby you are indeed right but he doesn’t feel confident enough yet to push the car.
he needs to ditch the mud-tires and lift kit, it makes the car unpredictable when sliding the corners.
Finally the Rallyata is *ACTUALLY A RALLYATA!*
Yay!
He responded *ESKEETIT!*
Good video as always!
BTW I am working on the first vlog right now! It will be up as soon as I'm done! Thank you for your patience guys!
Cool
Pasha, you can't say that unless you start uploading more!
7:12 someone rally racing a Camry!!!! I knew I couldn’t have been the only one to realize the hidden potential of The Camry on dirt. MAJOR kudos to that dude and I really hope to see him more on rally events all around.
Lmao Prius’s are pretty good in dirt as well I used to steal my moms in high school and go screw around in the fields around my house
GavGo69 if you’re being sarcastic and car shaming someone, then you’re really unoriginal and you suck😊 because Camry or not (btw it wasn’t my moms it was mine lol), I still ripped around and had fun, which is more than you will ever do lol
The Real Dro The 1.1 I’m not being sarcastic I did steal my moms Prius and it was fun as shit lol
GavGo69 idk what was worse. But ok. Disregard
Oh boi the GH5 footage... and the trailer 🤩 Happy for you man!!!
I love seeing you two hang out, and I loved this video!
Gingium u need to left foot brake everywhere to get your nose down and always keep some form of throttle on
Jemarc Quash Boxhill not the same as fwd or awd
I tried that a couple times and it did seem to help! Dont know how to use it properly yet tho lol
Gingium practice makes perfect. You'll get there though
Garrett Turbo you do know the Miata is rwd right? (Currently)
The lone wander it's the same as drifting
Oh man, your content is becoming more mature and less ricey. I've been a sub for a couple of years now, since molly appeared on the channel. And boi oh boi let me tell you - your content is amazing.
Keep up the good work!
It was good talking to you at the rally cross! ( i'm the guy with the prelude)
It was awesome meeting you!
Love the Prelude! Hope you maintain it well!
Awesome video as always, Caleb! I don't know anything about the nature of rallycross, however maybe one thing you could consider doing is putting a steeper gear in it. Roman Meissner thats a 1.6 miata, the 1.6 already came with the shortest available rear end, 4.3
I don't think it was a matter of being or not being in the power range, it felt like he was just cruising a lot. I'm no pro pilot, and definitely a nobody when it comes to rally, but he should be either accelerating or braking, and it felt like he had a lot of times just cruising at the same speed.
Rallium back at it again.
Arden Unger slowium with the rallyium needs a Irish navigatium to go fastium
That is factualium youium areium rightium 😤😤😤😤👍
Arden Unger slowgium

Gingium power bandium and engine brakingium......
Anyone else from Illinois just love seeing an amazing UA-camr have Illinois plates? It kinda makes it more special in a way!
hey DR. Jaxon Woodland or he can come out to dirtfish and we'll collab on a rallyx video. West coast nationals is in july.

12:45 that moment when gingium wants his Impreza back
Get rid of the roof rack and put the lights on the hood. Get rid of the snorkel aswel.
Great video man Pasha was chill
SO EXCITED TO WATCH LOVE WATCHING THESE!
That transition from night to day was perfect. Great job.
Are you still doing that podcast?
Make sure you bring Pasha back for more vids and trips! I don’t doubt that you will. He’s a cool character
hey man you may need a different gear ratio so you can keep it in 2nd all the way around or at least most of the way, that would shorten your times a lot!
Lawson Flood shorter tires would help that too
I think 2nd gear might be to high of a ratio cause remember it's a miata with about 120hp on a good day and 35in tires I say staying in 1st and keep the rpms right in the power curve so he can keep those corners slightly sideways
His miata came with the shortest factory rear end available (4.3)
Adrian Diaz his miata is supercharged. Well over 120 hp
As someone who drives a SRT 4 never woulda thought I’d seen what I did today, thank you.
More flooring less unflooring
Rally footage is the best. And you did great with the camera angles. The outside view gives the best representation of speed.
Been waiting so long for this upload
dude, its so nice seeing a car type youtuber doing something other than drifting
The white Subie sounded like a damn zipper.
I love the build videos. But the events are great. And you seem so much more relaxed and freed at events. And I get why, it's your hard work paying off.
Keep up the good work Caleb.
At least the interior looks great! You’d do better without those big ass tires probably. I can’t wait for the rally Miatas final transformation!
Hey Gingium, you need to be higher up in the revs when you’re doing your runs. Your supercharger gives you more torque than HP so you need to be tapping into the higher revs for more HP. The Real Dro The 1.1 finally someone who knows what they're talking about. Good job informing!
TFC thank you, made my day! ^~^ why criticize when you can educate?
The Real Dro The 1.1 exactly bro! Knowledge goes a long way in the world. Especially when it comes to motorsport! My friends dad used to be a rally cross driver in the early 2000s and from watching the little footage there is of him ripping it, staying in the gas seems pretty important.
Put a ladder on the bus so you can film the course action from up there.
This is pretty good! Keep up the cool events Gingium! Excited to see more that comes in the future!
i think in rallycross you should full throtl in the turn and control it kinda like drifting ...
love your trip video keep it up
My only advice ging is have fun. Trying to push to fast in any event can be not only destructive to your rig but Discouraging and stressful on yourself. Like the videos man keep em coming!
Its so cool knowing I was there
it was awesome seeing you there man! thank you for coming out!
Hey, I was there too! I was in the blue toyota corolla im
Awesome dude! I think it's great especially to show the younger kids how you can get involved. Can't wait to see what's next.
5:38 Looking sick.
Damn ging! These videos are really getting up there in quality, proud of you man!
I don’t know where you have your go pro mounted to you but a bit taller would be nice
Joseph Samsor na its good you can see the road and everything else
Idek why but this iss the only UA-cam channel I look forward to watching and get hyped up about like I like you gingi
You put milk first I might have to unsub now. Naw jk great stuff man
exactly
That was great! I really like the camerawork, especially the third person zoom camera work that Pasha did.
And don't beat yourself up about not being as good. I'm sure you'll improve pretty fast too.
Are you kidding me Gingium, no 4K-ium?
His internet would fall off
First off, I am stoked to see you actually have a bit of fun again.
Add a hydro brake
Happy for you man, you worked hard for all this, have some fun!
Is it still rwd?
yes he should be doing the awd swap in the upcoming weeks
First time is always the hardest cause your all new to it. If the car isnt making noises, your not pushing it hard enough. These off road turns with those tires should be good practice with drifting too. Great video man, its all a learning experience. Local Hanover park guy here too
you need to learn the art of "send it". (also nice music with real lyrics)
Nice to see more rally when every channel is about drifting.
6:30 THAT MONTAGE THO :P
"Mad Max on the line" haha!
Helmet cam!
The rig is sweet. That trailer matches the bus almost perfectly.
Pasha needs to co drive.. call out those turns yo.
Loved the start of this video
Even made loading a trailer seem spectacular
Gingium the slowium.
ikr haha
Great to see your getting practice and improving so so much! Keep it up Caleb your killing it buddy!
Thanks for the vote of confidence!

😂
Gingium you never reply to me😭
Glad you had fun, it was great to meet you.
Thank you for the advice! Def gotta get some rid alongs with the pros 👍
I had hella fun with you in the car! Video soon! Thank you for an amazing experience!
Just Pasha sorry your second ride didn’t go as planned. Exhaust is getting re done this weekend. Won’t fall off again lol.
Loved the vid, ging! Can't wait for the next events you're going to. Something that I would maybe include in the camera angles is one of you. Even though you're in a helmet, it'd be cool to have some perspective of you :)
Keep up the good work as usual
Gingium don't put yourself down so much! You seem to be doing very well with driving and everyone has to start somewhere. You definitely don't suck at driving
Love the video! Gotta start somewhere so don't let last place get you down
Thanks for coming out and racing with us! The key to getting faster is seat time, so make sure you come back again to future events in DMVR or Iowa Region SCCA 😉
yeah the hardest part is to push yourself, you think you're going crazy fast and then you're crap, been there done that
As a ski racer just starting out, I really understand the feeling that you're going faster than you are
Wow that editing was so good to watch. The new camera was really worth buying.
It was exciting seeing you load up the toys and hit the road.
Direction and editing of this are 🔥🔥🔥
The best for showing speed shots are gopro from center roof looking back and forward. It shows the cars body vs the moving ground. Makes it more exciting.
I have a big test tomorrow and it’s 11 but this is better than studying.
Daddy gingium back at it again with another banger
Basically I just got to accept the fact that the car will eventually break and rev it out. Most of all have fun and keep up the amazing videos
Amazing video, I'm so glad to finally see the rally Miata being used how its intended, I just wouldve liked to see more external camera angles.
props to all the people using standard cars and having fun
Miata engines are literally built for boost applications (pre nc). I would set the Rev limiter to 7k, and just push it to the max. Unless if you got new valve springs. Either way, If you built it correctly it won't fail you on the track... Just bring basic spare parts. Good job btw!!! Keep up all the good work, practice, and bottom line have fun!! ✌️
'its more important to be consistent than one good run'
It's one thing to make a crazy build car, but it's another thing to actually use it like you do
Hood cam on run 3 was dope
how much sunscreen did u use
Always great videos! also, great music choices.
as always nice video man!! i believe that if all events are like this then you definitely have to lower the miata and maybe change your tires! weight transfer at gravel is very important so lowering your car must be your number 1 priority...what i recommend is watching rally videos ( wrc , rx and all these) so that you can understand the way you drive a car at the gravel and learn faster!!
