Had a really bad rough idle on my Touareg with 100k miles. To begin with it was just a rough when started luke warm but then started to be all the time. Followed the clear steps in this video, rough idles gone and car runs much smoother and pulls like a train. Big thanks!
Legend. Thanks mate. In the past I have followed the can instructions and opened the intake pipe up and just sprayed it in, but now you have demonstrated the tricks for getting the intake piping off the EGR pipe I will pull it off and get scrubbing. Love a bit of Bush Mechanics!
I’ve actually been wondering if this is the problem in my 2006 3.6L FSI cause i have a rough idle with a misfire cause of it and it’s a bit slow on throttle input
Yep it fixed the idle and I also get 1L less per 100km 😁 And with the current prices I wish I did it years ago but it's hard to know there's a problem until you get Symptoms
It's actually an intake runner flap as there's two separate runners in the intake. At medium to high rpm it opens, low rpm and idle it stays closed to help with intake swirl.

Hey Stranga...thanks for making the video back then. I just used it as a guide to do mine.... runs smoothly when cold on idle now. so, Thanks 🙂
I wish the EGR was this easy to clean, sadly its tucked away under the intake..but nice vid of a throttle body clean.
Excellent video. Good job. Thanks
Spot on video mate! 👏 👏
Thanks for the informative video have you tried cleaning your DPF on your Touareg yet ?
I was under the impression that when your cars hot it cleans its self 😳
I see what you did there 😂
Hey great video, what was the name of the tool used for removin the screws at 2:26 ?
105 Degree Right Angle Head Screw Driver
Or something along those lines 👌
@@The-Stranga thanks you highly apprecaite it. Also do you know ehere is the location for the egr valve is it under the manifold intake?
Hi, apart from manual hand cleaning, did spraying into intake with engine running made any difference?
I can't imagine it would do too much and you really want to get the stuff out not wash it in
Dear Friend, do you have a idea. If it's compatible de 958 Cayenne Strut Mount whit the Touareg 7P5?
No idea sorry

I would asume it's more of a diesel thing but not positive 🤔
Great video mate. Did the clean fix your rough idle? Cheers

@@The-Stranga Unreal, thanks mate. Will give it a go as well!
@@The-Stranga I did this on the weekend and it went very well. Fixed the rough idle. Thanks for the clear and informative video mate 👍
Wish mine was that easy. I don't have the plastic pipe, its aluminum on my 2011 :-(
How often do these need to be cleaned?
Not sure there's probably a few factors but I'll probably check mine again in a few years
how many miles were on the car?
200000km
EGR removal ?! 😂😂
Yer I can see why people do it
@@The-Stranga Egr is in the middle of the engine, what you cleaned are just the air mixture flaps

Yer my bad saw it talked about in a few fb posts and to be fair it did fix the issue but yep throttle body it is
Nice catch 😂
Dude thats a throttle body not an EGR.... fail
Yer shit my bad I changed the title 🤣
Hope it still helps ppl it sure make my idle smooth again
Hyman
The egr comes in the bottom of that plastic tube so he’s correct and your are too in a way ....

I clearly have no idea what I was talking about 🤣
