      I love our mix of New England shingle style homes, I've always liked the hobbled together asymmetry of the style as 1600's to 1900's home were added and tweaked and always with a patina of sea air and fading cedar shakes.

      I'm happy you enjoyed it and they were especially joyful this time, when I listen back I think, gosh there really were a lot of them out singing :) @Joan Holland and of course we're never very far from seagulls, even when out shopping especially when the shop is an old clam shack near the shore.

    Hi Donna! Thank you for another great antiques shopping trip. LOVE the bowl, you got a great deal on it even due to the condition. It definitely needed to come home with you that day :) Some of my things are cracked but no worries, it gives them character! The chicks are growing quickly!

    Hello Donna. What a beautiful pot full of flowers that brings joy to the eye and colour to the garden. How the view is smothered with the fog like a blanket that covers the bed. What a stunningly beautiful drive along the coast with the old colonial houses so picturesque. I love the archways with gates thar open up another entrance to the garden giving it separate boundaries. There is many inspirational ideas to collect in your mind for new projects , especially the lamp when you go beach combing. How exciting to start a new vegetable garden project. Well the Easter chicks have arrived just in time, so cute and adorable. Thankyou so much for sharing another wonderful vlog 😊😊😘

      @s martinez I hope to do little garden tours this year as I'm really trying to make over bits, so I might try some before/after. We have 3 acres which is a lot for one person with occasional help from hubby, so a lot of it is "wild" but I think it'll be fun to share the wild to the well, less wild probably haha. Thanks for watching.

      Thank you, I'm sure some think, "Why on earth would she buy that cow?" @Michel Keely haha but I can picture her in the garden or with flower arrangements in the Summer and in the Winter up on a shelf in my plant room with that bowl filled with plants and her little twig horns.
      I'll probably give her "Holly Horns" for Christmas and put her out with Christmas deco.

    Wonderful outing, beautiful shingled houses, spring flowers, and your adorable chicks who are growing so quickly. The cow with her twig horns reminds me of the Highland cattle on Pasque Island when they lie down on the beach or wade in the bay.Using the antique mold for a planter is a very clever idea.Wish I had thought of it:)! Very fun shop.

      It's probably much more built up then you recall @Lisa Akinlabi I still can't get over how much has changed from late 90's to now, but there is still a lot of quaint and out of the way places to explore. I hope you can return one day.

    Oh I was so excited to see this shopping trip. I love the bowl even cracked and worn. The Japanese have a phrase for appreciating worn/ Beijing things calling them wabi sabi. They even take molten gold/ metal and drip it down cracks to repair pottery. Thus displaying the beauty of the flawed. I’m so glad you didn’t look at this piece of pottery disparagingly. I wish I could be in gardening mode with you but at 73 I can no longer dig in the Earth. My back and balance are troublesome and deter me. I do care for a few hostas in pots and also a large planter of Dragon Wing Begonias. I recommend them to all as real show stoppers and are so vigorous. People would slow at look at mine at the end of my driveway. Hope soon you can take us to your thrift shop where you once bought a beautiful scarf. I love the idea of thornless roses on the metal bench/ gate. Look forward to another shopping video.

    • @DonnaDavisArt
      @DonnaDavisArt  2 роки тому

      Oh I love that, well I have definitely the Wabi Sabi appreciation as it seems cracked, lichen covered or marred always attracts my eye.
      Well, gardening indoors is also wonderful, maybe you should make little miniature gardens, to easily 'dig in' on the table top, little bonsai trees, tiny little coleus, there are so many wonderful 'fairy garden' plants made small for that purpose. Have fun! @Dolly Dog

    I hear fog horns here near the Chesapeake Bay where I live on foggy days. Luv the sound. Thanks for taking us on a fun trip. When I visited cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard years ago, it was great to see the cranberry bogs and the men working them. I luv the items you selected. The sticks for the cow are great idea. Fun and the chicks are growing fast. Take care

      I forgot to share footage of the men working the bogs this past Autumn. It's always such a magical thing to be out on a ramble or a drive and see the bright red floating on the water as the men in their waders are out with their rakes and machines corralling in all that beauty. I'll have to remember this Autumn @Cheryl The Pearl
