*Easy automated method for 64bit systems:* ua-cam.com/video/tSOb1yOlrCE/v-deo.html *Updated Manual method (works for both 32/64):* ua-cam.com/video/pg4JAY5NzbY/v-deo.html It's in the description now too, but the instruction was getting buried in some comments: IF your text file is being reset after you do this that means you have autoupdate on, or if you already know it's on, to stop that from happening: Edit UserConfiguration file (inside configs folder, right click edit, notepad). Change (autoupdate)true(/autoupdate) (updateversions)true(/updateversions) To false. (Just change true to false) Save. ( ) is actually brackets but for some reason youtube doesn't want me to use them lol.
This was a really good ''how to update'' and I even had the autoupdate issue. Had my little-bro do the fixing cuz i was at work and i told him to check this out and he is not a PC-wizard at all... when he did this fixing it was like watching man discover fire. Good job on making it easy Fetid !
In essence for version 0.48b the last few lines of your file should be as exactly as below: F863C6F69BB4DE0961BF18346F0A81F9377DDC5321E0A9DCD72BA364886572FFD7D5C940AA29C5702BEA1F786A80A48E2F8D5B7BD50A1A7947F2EA6B7A052DBB
Hi Folks, just to let you know so that you do not make the same mistake that I made. You need to be careful when you copy the checksum that you copy it correctly into the Versions.xml file. After the new checksum line in my case version 0.48b you should have the following commands The command ends the particular version in my case version 0.48b. The command ends the version file itself. You need BOTH of these commands exactly as I have them abovefor this fix to work. KR H.
need some help, i did everything just as you described, and once i close the config document and start up ModAPI, i still get the same message, when i look back at the config, it appears that each time i start ModAPI it resets my config back to default
Looks like your autoupdate is removing your update xD. Try this: modapi folder -> configs folder -> open userconfig file with notepad (right click openwith, or drag it into a clean notepad that is open) -> edit the line next to and from true to false -> save file -> try video :)
Hey, when I do this, whenever I open ModAPI, ModAPI changes the Versions.xml file by itself and deletes all the changes I've made, thus again displaying the same error. How to prevent ModAPI from undoing the changes I've made to Versions.xml?
i don't know what's wrong... when i "open with" there is no "open with" only "open". And than, when i "open" i'm redirected to something like a site and i can't delete and change the numbers.
+olivier tauhiro A Hm.. that is very strange, I can link you some sites that suggest you to change a registry value but I'd rather you look that up because you have to be confident when messing around with that stuff, but you should have an open with option half way around the menu at least. If you're interested googling something like "no open with option" will link a bunch of people with similar issues and solutions they came up with. However~~!! I think we can work around that for the time being. Open up a notepad first, an empty blank one. If you're on one of the search bar windows you can just type it into your little start bar thing and then click on it, it will open up blank. Then drag and drop the file into the notepad, it will open it up in notepad for you. Then you can edit and save it :).
Im trying to do this for the update .40, but everytime i try to open mod api after i do these steps, and uncheck auto update, it just closes it? really confused
At this moment I think it will work with auto-update. When you open it will give you error, and ask if you want to update - try that. This method works when the updates are just released and the developers of ModAPI haven't made an update yet, this video is like if you're really impatient like me XD.
+Logan Witt Hi :), you may have auto update on. Try this: go to your modapi folder, configs folder, open userconfig file with notepad, edit the line next to and from true to false, save. Try this method again. Should work, my ModAPI is working currently from this method.
'inDe_eD ' Hmm, Community Manager position is probably draining over time, but that's unfortunate you didn't get the info you needed. I imagine they are expecting players to wait for the update, which since you've seen my video you know you don't have to :D. (I never wait, I reactivate it minutes after the update). Also the FAQ doesn't really tell you how to do what we're doing in this video. Souldrinker made an amazing guide that helped me build this video, but it is quite burred in my experience and I generally only find it via my bookmark lol. (Souldrinker is the dev of the program).
+Luke Boyd Hello! Sorry to hear you're having issues :(. It could be where it was installed: www.modapi.de/index.php/Thread/57-Can-t-get-it-to-work/ an issue somewhat similar. Perhaps also it is asking for a path specific to an .exe or The Forest folder in particular, have you tried to direct it to one or the other? (I personally haven't had this issue but I'll try to ~!)
thing what I didnt do, thats u know when u change the version number. i mean forexample from 0.30 to 0.38 u know. my forest is on 0.41b but i can see the 0.42b and 0.42c version number i dunno how in the version file.
I cant find anything with "Neither the game and" in the logs for ModAPI ... * what to do? There wasnt even an update today so I dont understand how i got this problem... i was playing 2 days ago without problems
hey bro, ive done everything I could but insta build isn't working... like at all. I cant insta build or build at all. ive activated and checked the boxes for insta build and cheat menu. it allows me to place blue prints but not build them. Help me!!!!
Because the game has had a hotfix recently you'll have to follow the instructions again, or wait till ModAPI autoupdate has fixed it. I imagine that's the issue. The menu sometimes works through updates, but until you run and patch ModAPI again after each update it won't work right (anything). So you can do this method or wait for the devs to do it on their ends :). I think that is the most likely issue at least.
Did you check the new guide, or at in the description/main comment follow the turning off of Auto Version / Auto Update? Everything is the same except one silly button (audo update/version) which was made default on for people after I had made this video - it's detailed in the description too (on how to turn it off) but the new guide also just shows how to do it~ ua-cam.com/video/pg4JAY5NzbY/v-deo.html If you don't turn it off the feature will actually undo everything you did XD.
Most likely your AntiVirus ate it then, the program is designed to insert itself into another program and that looks really bad to antivrius, of course it doesn't know you actually want it to do that and is just trying to protect you. I would extract the folder again and watch your AV, probably will tell you it is doing something like that - you can temporarily turn it off before you extract it too if you want (just be careful what you're currently doing and make sure to turn it back on then).
+kamran akberli Hmm, are you saying that ModAPI doesn't want to work with The Forest because of version? I've manually fixed mine right after it came out using this method. But I believe they should have made the latest update / auto update fix itself by now, if you run it I mean - it should work anyways. If it doesn't and you try my method (via the video), keep in mind that sometimes if you have auto-update on it may remove your changes in the text file when you run it again and act like you didn't fix it. If that is the case simply open UserConfiguration (with notepad) inside of configs folder, and change autoupdate / update version to false instead of true. That'll prevent it from removing your text work, but this only happens to some people I guess - not everyone has told me they have this issue. Cheers :)
+IMods PRO3D Hello :)! ModAPI should be prepared to update itself to 0.31 without doing what is in this video, at 0:17 you can see "activated versions table update" which should bring it up to date for you. With the update coming in about a day and a half you'll have to follow this video to get it to work with 0.32 (or just wait about 24-48 hours). If the program does't open at all, and so you don't see any of these messages, then you might need to install the recent .net (4.0 I believe).
Hey it will be awesome if you reply, for 0.48b whenever I try to run a game/play a game the game crashes I'm am not sure if its modapi or if its the creator of The Forest but when I tried to run the original it did the same... its weird so I'm just wondering if you could help me out, I did all the steps in the video and it happened ever since 48b came out.... talk to you soon ;)
Hey~ I remember having this issue when I was in co-op with a bunch of less standard mods turned on, I've personally played co-op with the updated Cheat Menu from the website and with the organized inventory menu also from the website - without any crashing. But when I had like booze effect and spawn command activated it crashed. First let's remove ModAPI's presence, that should at least let you get back to playing - to do that go into your steam library and right click on The Forest go down to properties, click on the local file tab in the window that appears, and click verify integerity. This will remove ModAPI but it will not remove your saves or anything like that, now you can test to see if The Forest crashes. If it does, then it is an issue with the game itself and not with ModAPI - if it doesn't well then it was ModAPI. Now when you activate ModAPI i'd pick simple and a few mods only, to test - click start game and try both single player and multiplayer. I think from there we can determine a lot about your issue. The two mods I mentioned aren't in the video because the came out much later (but I did tell people how to use mods :D): www.modapi.de/mods/index.php/Entry/14-Cheatmenu-0-44c/ www.modapi.de/mods/index.php/Entry/9-Inventory-Mod-2-with-sorted-categories/
It Was Modapi that caused the problems haha.. I'll try what you said about different mods, I think I have a idea what one breaks it all :/ Thanks for your time, I'm one of those lazy people who would not reply, xD you got +1 like ;)
But it has worked for a long time and stopped all of the sudden. But I would try to download it again but every time I try to delete it it says this file is being used in other applications and it won't let me delete it.
Oh there is an issue in ModAPI I think that you might have ran into, separate from the update issue - its just a ModAPI thing. A question first, were you using fly/no clip cheats OR did you have god mode on and then fall from a fairly quite high height? Either of these could lead to issues, the first one can be solved with some fiddling around - the second one cannot unfortunately.. The game thinks you're dead in the second one, even though you're not and you cant use menu's or anything. It may be helpful to use the save anywhere cheat from ModAPI to force these things in situations that otherwise may be difficult to do so, just as an aside note :). I can explain more to the first issue if you had it, but to easily avoid it is instead of using the space bar to raise into the air just look up and walk that way instead. And if you use no clip and can't interact with stuff just turn it off / on while looking at an interact-able object, and then you can interact with stuff while no clip is on. I've used it quite a bit so let me know and I'll try to help with any quirks you experience :)
Yes, i was using the fly/no clips cheats, godmode; however, have turned off cannibals and used these cheats to enter a somewhat 'creative mode of the sorts'. I think i might see if the 'save anywhere cheat' works, as it was most unfortunate to meticulously build for a 2 hour stretch and be unable to save. Thank you for your reply. On a side note, your video of the hidden base tour looked really good; also, the project which I am apart of is this, logtechi.wixsite.com/project-sovereign. Once the project is finished, we plan to host it AEDT.
HI i run the game through modapi but when i get into the game nothing works. I checked the logs and i see mismatched checksum but i dont see the checksum. i downloaded the auto updater and ran it then it said checksum not found. how do i fix this?
Hmm, is your game cracked or held back an update? I'd definitely make sure you're using the latest ModAPI (download fresh from the website), and just so you can see the checksums here is a copy of my versions: www.dropbox.com/s/j4auzydozx3cr9j/Versions%20-%20Copy.xml?dl=0
I followed the instructions carefully to update to version 39, whenever i save the notepad, i go back to check if its saved, its reverted to what it was before i editted it, Any fix?
Hmm, that sounds like an issue separate from updates - has ModAPI ran before? In an update case what it should do is load and then display some error, like in the video, the update should never prevent it from actually opening (just functioning). If you haven't been able to run it before I'd try grabbing the 4.5 NET package (or just updating .NET in general) as the 4.0 series is used in ModAPI and is required for it. Also if you've updated or changed some situation with your anti-virus it could be stopping ModAPI as ModAPI would look suspicious to it, since ModAPI works by inserting itself into another program (in this case you want that to happen, but a generic heuristics detection wouldn't know that). It could also just be taking a while to load, but of course you shouldn't have to wait longer than a minute or so (waiting longer than that, most likely it won't load). Let me know how it goes :), hopefully we can get it going easily enough!
Thanks for the quick reply. Ive ran it and used it perfectly already. I had the error and followed your steps exactly (i think). Im confused on the number of the update. The newest one isnt a 0.x its now just 0x, no "." Is that meant to be or no?
Np :), good that it's ran before.. Still strange that it is stopping at that mark, I'd still be concerned that is another issue.. But let's address the update specifically first :D. So to check, you don't have auto update/versions on? Like the description/my top comment details, this is something I found some people were running into before. Something I never turned on so I didn't experience XD. If that's good, then you should have your checksum look like: F863C6F69BB4DE0961BF18346F0A81F9377DDC5321E0A9DCD72BA364886572FFD7D5C940AA29C5702BEA1F786A80A48E2F8D5B7BD50A1A7947F2EA6B7A052DBB and the version for this update is "0.48b" ^_^ F863C6F69BB4DE0961BF18346F0A81F9377DDC5321E0A9DCD72BA364886572FFD7D5C940AA29C5702BEA1F786A80A48E2F8D5B7BD50A1A7947F2EA6B7A052DBB
Logs folder should be created whenever ModAPI successfully runs, so you should definitely have a Logs folder. Does ModAPI turn on at all for you? For the versions and such, just right click and edit with notepad or some other simple text editor :D. XML will probably try to open with explorer or something useless like that lol.
Yes, it has successfully ran multiple times before but it doesn't have a logs folder at all. I must note however, some mods I can't seems to download. The only ones I have downloaded so far are the pre-installed ones.
+Liam ColdFire It's very weird you don't have logs, perhaps the place ModAPI has been saved has some windows write protection (like certain locations Windows will not like a program to write to without getting admin/permission). However, just so you don't have to worry about that - here is the checksum for 47c: 17E72F2015BE5D0D874A2AE99150D43B589E092FA2048345EA89E29960940DB605DF57C0CEBA607EAAFAA0F5392FAABBA2960A4A7A78330B5E725D0FB50E0B42 Also do you mean ModAPI won't recognize mods or you can't even download them in the first place? The website is a little goofy sometimes in the buttons you press to download, so we could fix that easily by just listing how they have it - but ModAPI recognizing them is probably related to being in the wrong "Mods" folders since there is like two of them :P.
Well thanks for the checksum, but I can download the selected mods but when I check my mods in the activation page they simply won't show up. I keep them in the same mods folder as the pre installed mods are so they should show up with the rest, yet they refuse to in the first place
Uh problem. I tried to delete my mods by deleting the expanded zip folder that had ModAPI.exe in it (including all the other files and teh updater) and tried to play the forest. But. I can press F1 and ` to bring up my mod menus. Note: I even went into teh game files and deleted my "mods" folder and even that didn't work. Please HELP!
Oh to remove mods just verify the integrity of your game via steam, the mod works in a way so that once you install it once you don't need to run it again, at least until the game updates (replaces some .dlls in the game I think). So just right click the game in steam, properties, in the new window something about local, and in that tab should be verify file integrity. It wont remove any of your saves, just will replace the modapi files. Then it will be 100% removed.
The Cheat Menu that comes with ModAPI is not the best Cheat Menu available since a few patches, also same story with Inventory Mod 2. They usually change the default mods every few updates but at this moment: Inventory mod 2: www.modapi.de/mods/index.php/Entry/9-Inventory-Mod-2-with-sorted-categories/ Try one, not both, of these: www.modapi.de/mods/index.php/Entry/14-Cheatmenu-0-50/ www.modapi.de/mods/index.php/Entry/28-CheatMenuPlus-0-52b-0-50c-UPDATE-26-12-2016/ That should fix the mods/improve functionality :)
I've heard people making it work, but I have no idea how to go about that. I imagine there are some trainers that work though, less fully featured than ModAPI however. Once you get the chance though you can support the devs and ModAPI will be there :D
Replied to another one of your comments on how :) The comment on how used to be at the top but it looks buried so I just made my own, I think mine should float near the top.. XD Also in the description now.
ModAPI crashing isn't this issue unfortunately (the issue this video focuses on). It might be that your AV doesn't like ModAPI - since how it works makes it look weird to AV (inserts itself into other program). I would download it again and if you trust the site, try it without AV. Other possible reasons could be things like it not pointing to the right location of either steam or The Forest, or that you don't have the pre-requisites (make sure you have 4.+ .NET for example). But crashing won't happen because of the game updating, it's another issue not related to what will be covered in this video.
Yea :) Top issues I've seen people, autoversion is still set to true (described in the description), accidentally removed at the end of the file (it should end with , didn't label the version right. We can start from there~
I'm going to make a video on this soon, but have you tried this: www.modapi.de/index.php/Thread/300-ModAPI-Version-Updater/?postID=1527#post1528 ? It just came out, and I think it might be a great solution for a lot of people~
What that is, is a program version of what this video does. AllesKutEnter is the guy who has made theforestmap.com too, and he provided the source code if you were concerned on what it did. (It's good). It can't fix issues like if you accidentally messed something up in your files before hand though, it doesn't check to see if your UserConfig or Versions has mistakes.
I'd use the 64 bit method if you have a 64bit system, it's much easier - the manual method doesn't get any easier unfortunately (if you followed the updated guide): ua-cam.com/video/tSOb1yOlrCE/v-deo.html&list=PLifiLYgrZMmRh4V3kXNs03B6EFgXzix6T Updated version of the manual method (the link in the description): ua-cam.com/video/pg4JAY5NzbY/v-deo.html
Hmm I dont think all, but I don't use all of the ones from the website so.. Maybe it's those? Cheat Menu, inventory mod, spawn command, the core ones I've used for videos still work at least. (Used them this update, doing the update trick detailed in this video).
Saw this in the spam section in youtube, sorry for the delay respond careful putting website links in comments (youtube puts stuff like that into spam XD). If you haven't found it yet, they do have a new website though: www.souldrinker.de/cms/
Have you been able to run it before in the past? If yes, it may be an AV software deciding it doesn't like it anymore (not surprising since it modifies The Forest, and that looks suspicious to AV - even though that's technically what you want it to do). If no, then you probably don't have the prerequisite components, which is VCredist 2010 and .NET 4+ (both of which you can obtain safely from Microsoft themselves, should be the top search results being them if you google it).
What mods are you loading? Also I'd check to see if some mods were loaded even though it gave you an error, that's a different issue to updating ModAPI though - which is why I think maybe a specific mod is causing it. Or you have a reaaaaallly old ModAPI lol. (Can try to download a fresh one if you do).
hey~ I assume you're using the other video right? Make sure you open ModAPI, you get the could not detect game version error, close ModAPI, and then run the ModAPI updater that you downloaded from the link in that video~
So you don't get the error that's in the beginning of this video? If you don't that means your ModAPI is okay. When you run ModAPI and it says "could not detect game version" you know you have to do this video - but sometimes the devs update the checksum themselves and quickly enough you wouldn't notice. Do keep in mind though if you have the old inventory and cheat menu mods that they won't work properly in 50, just grab the new ones. ModAPI Updater in the other video can't find the checksum if the error log didn't make one, which either means you didn't get an error and you should be fine or ModAPI itself didn't run correctly. When you start ModAPI, do you get an error, does it run and open like normal, or does it not even open?
Fetid Bobo Ohh it opens like normal and I can even launch the game with it and everything. But the mod api doesn't seem to detect the new cheat menu or the inventory mod 2. And again thanks for your help! Going to subscribe to you too haha.
Did you turn off auto-update? One of the things that I noticed starting to happen a bit after this video was auto-update began to undo edits made to the Versions file, so hopefully (let me know if you don't see it), there should be a comment from me near the top of this video talking about how to stop that. Because yah, you can do all this work and then ModAPI can be like "naaaaaah" - and that's quite annoying XD.
That's my bad for confusing the variable names, it's auto versions - right next to auto update. I apologize, following my comment that guided how to do it though should have fixed it because ti includes turning off auto versions. If you did that (auto version to false) and it still doesn't work, also consider that each hotfix uses it's own checksum. Usually they only do a hotfix or two but this patch had four.. which can make this process a little annoying cause you have to get the checksum for the hotfix they moved to.
Ooooh that is strange, were you looking in the UserConfiguration and there was no autp version? That's weird.. If you ever want to have another swing at it just let me know :) Sorry that it isn't so straight forward, not by my design lol. I'm sure they have some reason for it.
Do you have a legal copy of The Forest? That can cause it to have difficulty finding the gamepath. Sometimes it does mess up even with legal copies though, you can go into the config folder and open the userconfiguration file (with notepad), from there at the bottom you can see where the paths are pointing and fix them if you need. If your steam is messed up you can also turn of steam checking up at the top, change the value from true to false.
Looks like you deleted the message I replied to, did you get a chance to read it before it went poof? Sounds like auto versions is still on, check out the description :) (There is also a newer and a bit easier way put in the description as well).
Hmm, I haven't had that issue on this particular patch - question: were you able to get on the servers before messing with ModAPI but after patch 50? It's easy to remove ModAPI and also fix other issues at the same time by going to steam, right click on The Forest in library, properties, local files, and verify file integrity. It will probably find 5 files (that's ModAPI) and fix them, if it finds more then definitely some other issue happening at the same time. Now you can test to see if it works w/o ModAPI. If it still doesn't work then its obviously not ModAPI. I also saw a thread on reddit talking about this sort of thing here: www.reddit.com/r/TheForest/comments/5d0x42/trouble_connecting_to_coop_server_since_the_update/
It does, but unfortunately there are a couple steps that if missed or altered slightly it will feel like the whole process didn't do anything, did you make sure to turn autoversions to false? Autoversion will undo your changes in versions, that's a really annoying surprise xD. (Detailed in description and my own top comment). If autoversion was set to false the other common issue is accidentally removing something in versions file that wasn't meant to be removed. Seedy to tell if that is the issue by if your ModAPI shows an error or just gets stuck loading l.
Are you in a co-op game as the client ? Client instant build doesn't really function happily, works well as host though. If it is single player is the issue specifically with custom walls and defensive walls? For that if you just hold one log in your arms the instant build feature will work as expected :). It has something to do with the rotation shapes "r", and holding a log fixes it for ModAPI.
+lennertoss BG Hello!! :). You are not receiving this error right now are you? You shouldn't need to do it right now, if you downloaded the most update ModAPI and have the auto update active. This is when The Forest update just comes out so you can use ModAPI's full functionality without having to wait for someone else to fix it for you. I made this in advance of the next patch so people who want to get it done right away without waiting can, and less confusion if you're not used to doing this stuff from a written guide. If you're getting an error let's talk about it! But I imagine it is not this error, ModAPI should work fine with this current update. I'm in my 20s, when I finally put my face in a video you can guess where exactly :P
+Fetid Bobo Every time i opet ModAPi is wanna to restore files.I try to fix it with your variant but its not work.I will wait for the new version of the forest to fix this.Sorry for my english im from bulgaria
+lennertoss BG Hi! Restore files is for steam to verify file integrity- I don't think that will help you, did you try to click on "Activate Versions Table Update"?. Because ModAPI is setup for the most recent version of the The Forest (v0.30b) it should work right now even without this video. The way in this video shows how to make ModAPI work when ModAPi isn't sure how to work with the new update, so you don't have to wait for it be sure (can take a few days, made this video because I know some people will not want to wait a few days :) lol). Greetings from US to Bulgaria :D~!
Have you checked to see if it was reseting your text file after you ran ModAPI again? Hopefully the comment I self posted is appearing at the top for others, shows how to prevent autoupdate from changing your versions file, that's a common issue I've seen - where people have the autoupdate ruining the change. Hope it's the top comment.. lol let me know if it's not and I'll copy paste again. Should also be in the description though :D.
Also I noticed you commented on the AllesKutEnter Updater way to update ModAPI, did you have an issue with that method? Or just wanted to try the manual way? I ask just because you don't need to do both :)
So long as you open it as a .txt and it saves as a .txt, with a program that doesn't insert it's own information - then you can open it with whatever :) wordpad should work no problem, although I used notepad.
Are you labeling the update the right version? They've done an update for 42C now so it won't be just 42. Also just make sure you're not copying into the brackets and stuff like stuff , make sure you keep those in their proper order. If you don't the computer doesn't know where starts or ends appropriately. (Talked about where to paste it in the video, making sure you don't paste over important stuff :) Notepad should work just fine for opening the file though, right click open with notepad, make changes "ctrl s" to save. If your autoupdate is on you'll have to turn that off otherwise ModAPI will reset the work you just did when you launch it.
Hi, gamepath issues are different than checksum issues - what the game path issue is saying is ModAPI can't even find the steam folder / game. I think a common reason for this would be using a pirated version of the game, otherwise I might try to just download a fresh ModAPI and see how that goes. Unfortunately though, the gamepath issue is not the same as just having to update ModAPI/checksum - there is something else going on.
mau to Then ModAPI is just confused, I'd check the UserConfiguration file to see where it thinks your The Forest and Steam is, from that you can see if it is looking at the right spot if it's all wrong. So go into the ModAPI folder, go into the config folder, right click edit UserConfiguration file (open with notepad or some other simple text editor), and scroll to the bottom and you'll see where it thinks your stuff is at. If it's wrong then you know that's the problem. Perhaps one of the easier "hopes" for a fix is just to download the most recent one from the website and run it in a different location and see if it can find the game and stuff, if it gives you a checksum error that's good, but hopefully doesn't give you a gamepath error.. that one is not good. If you get the checksum error like the one that this video shows in the beginning, then you're on the right path.
mau to Np mate :). I've never tried another trainer so I'm not sure how they'd interact, if the trainer has changed files in The Forest that ModAPI wants to use you can always restore them easily. In steam, right click The Forest, properties, local files tab, and click verify integrity. This will reset a lot of The Forest files (not saves). But I'm not sure if that'd help, depends on how the other trainer interacted with your game.
Awesome, I think then accidentally you might have had autoupdate on - but if you got the new method to work I'd just recommend keep doing that, its much easier~! Happy its working for ya :)
Did you make sure to turn off updateversions? That'll cause issues now unfortunately (and is the most common issue people may have). Otherwise yeah it should be updated in a few days.
+Tony Williams Aww, dang - which part? Although keep in mind that a patch came out recently so you have to manually update the checksum or wait for them to do it. (about 24 hours usually). I assume you did this part, since it is on this video - but I had a PM that linked this video and they didn't do this so just checking :D. I just did this to make mine update though, and it worked, but I did edit the wrong file a few times once. Also if you have ModAPI set to auto update it can overwrite the text file, you can check this by running ModAPI and then seeing if it overwrote your updated checksum with old information. Let me know if this is the case I have a solution for that (if you save the file, run ModAPI, doesn't work, go back to the file you saved and see it has undone your work).
+Fetid Bobo Yeah, it does the latter that you mentioned- it reverts the file back to the old info. I suppose, with the rest of the computer noobs, I should just wait for them to update it as I don't even know what a checksum is, let alone how anything could be effected by a alphanumerical code in a notepad file XD.
Aww man I hate when it does this. Though it doesn't always do that to me, only sometimes. So how you fix that is, go into the configs folder, edit UserConfiguration file (right click edit, notepad). Change true true To false. (Just change true -> false) Save. Now when you follow the rest of the instructions it should not change your version file changes that you do. However, at this time ModAPI should be updated by itself (about an hour ago they uploaded the change). The instructions I gave you now you can save till next time :). Also keep in mind my instructions prevents ModAPI from phoning home, which you may sometimes want. Cheers :)
+Fetid Bobo Thank you !! Finaly fixed it, if I haven't read this last user config comment I would have lost my mind nothing else worked for even when I did your vid tutorial step by step ! thanks man , keep the vids comin :) version 36 seems like a very cool update .
6paidaa :) ! I'm glad it worked! I didn't always run into this issue, but it happened a bit after I made this video. Was hoping people wouldn't experience this, file setting itself back to the wrong version lol (could be a very aggravating situation XD). Thank you ~!
+minecrafter76789 YT There is always the chance something could be, I use it in a lot of my videos though. Also unfortunately how the program is built, it might set off some scanners. The program needs to inject itself into The Forest which can make some scanners suspicious, you may have heard these called "false positives". I haven't had an issue, but I can't say I've ran through the source code line by line. So, to me no - but there is always a risk when downloading something. You could think you downloaded the latest minecraft mod but a hacker hacked the website and changed the file type - bad stuff can always happen :(.
If you still have the auto version and update on then it will probably error out when you try to use it, how to turn that off is in the description of the video but here it is too: Close all the modapi related programs go into the modapi folder go to configs folder go to UserConfigurations.xml , right click it and edit in notepad. If you're unsure about that, just open any notepad and then drag and drop the file into the notepad window find autoupdate and updateversions and change both of them to false, do not remove brackets or anything just where it says true change that to false save the text file by using CTRL S, you'll know its saved when you close and it doesnt ask you anything now try to open modapi
Same story with update and autoupdate off. I start the game by modapi but i can't use any of the mods. I tried to use only one mod each time but no mods are working for me now.
Are you using a recent version of modapi or the new mods? Old mods don't really work anymore, also make sure you go to the new website for now: www.souldrinker.de/cms/
Don't think it's on or you don't have one? Like Norton, Avast, Mcafe, any of that jazz. If you don't have those make sure you downloaded the recent one, from the website: www.souldrinker.de/cms/index.php/downloads/
What's up? haha. Since someone else was having an issue I just uploaded my text file: www.mediafire.com/download/bvpw72h8y952o10/Versions.xml You may still have to fight the autoversion issue though (autoversion undoes changes that make it work cause... it's weird). Can turn it off tho :P If you HAVE to: \ModAPI\configs open UserConfiguration just like you did with Version (via notepad, don't double click)- and change the autoversions from True to False.
Make sure to follow the description, to turn off autoversion - can confirm the unsaving is done by that. (described in description). Something that wasn't auto on way beck when xD.
*Easy automated method for 64bit systems:* ua-cam.com/video/tSOb1yOlrCE/v-deo.html
*Updated Manual method (works for both 32/64):* ua-cam.com/video/pg4JAY5NzbY/v-deo.html
It's in the description now too, but the instruction was getting buried in some comments:
IF your text file is being reset after you do this that means you have autoupdate on, or if you already know it's on, to stop that from happening:
Edit UserConfiguration file (inside configs folder, right click edit, notepad).
Change
(autoupdate)true(/autoupdate)
(updateversions)true(/updateversions)
To false. (Just change true to false) Save.
( ) is actually brackets but for some reason youtube doesn't want me to use them lol.
Thanks man, it's worked, appreciate it :D
Np mate :D
Thanks fixed my problem!
Glad it worked ^-^!
i am on like 0.45c or something like that why dosent it select game path automaticly
This was a really good ''how to update'' and I even had the autoupdate issue. Had my little-bro do the fixing cuz i was at work and i told him to check this out and he is not a PC-wizard at all... when he did this fixing it was like watching man discover fire. Good job on making it easy Fetid !
Wooo!! hahaha :D, that's awesome to hear - thank you! Appreciate the kind words, and fun story XD. Glad it helped and was easy to follow :)
Once again thank you for the help...I follow your instruction for the change of and from true to false and it work...it work well on ver 42 thank man
:D Glad it worked, thank you for taking the time to comment - it's nice to hear ~!
Thanks alot. I follow your instruction and it wont work on first time. so i have tried to change and from true to false and it work!
Awesome ~ :D, glad it worked.
In essence for version 0.48b the last few lines of your file should be as exactly as below:
F863C6F69BB4DE0961BF18346F0A81F9377DDC5321E0A9DCD72BA364886572FFD7D5C940AA29C5702BEA1F786A80A48E2F8D5B7BD50A1A7947F2EA6B7A052DBB
Exactly :D
(and of course make sure autoversions is off)
also when editing the version file make sure when you save change the file to read only so the exe does not change it back
Hi Folks,
just to let you know so that you do not make the same mistake that I made. You need to be careful when you copy the checksum that you copy it correctly into the Versions.xml file. After the new checksum line in my case version 0.48b you should have the following commands
The command ends the particular version in my case version 0.48b. The command ends the version file itself. You need BOTH of these commands exactly as I have them abovefor this fix to work.
KR
H.
need some help, i did everything just as you described, and once i close the config document and start up ModAPI, i still get the same message, when i look back at the config, it appears that each time i start ModAPI it resets my config back to default
Looks like your autoupdate is removing your update xD. Try this: modapi folder -> configs folder -> open userconfig file with notepad (right click openwith, or drag it into a clean notepad that is open) -> edit the line next to and from true to false -> save file -> try video :)
I try this soloution, but it continues to even reset the user config to its deafult values
yeah just tried that, its not resetting the config anymore, but it still gives me the error on ModAPI even with all the correct inputs
same here
Worked for me Thanks bro :D
Hey, when I do this, whenever I open ModAPI, ModAPI changes the Versions.xml file by itself and deletes all the changes I've made, thus again displaying the same error. How to prevent ModAPI from undoing the changes I've made to Versions.xml?
Nevermind, I was too lazy to look at your updated video, my bad, thanks for the help mate!
This was very helpful, thanks!
+How 2 Darkwraith I'm glad to hear it! Thank you~ :)
i don't know what's wrong... when i "open with" there is no "open with" only "open".
Then you can edit and save it :).
nice... thank's for your help :D
I tried to comment tgis when it first came out with .40, i too am.lazy lol
I did this for the latest version and it still returns the game version error :/
+Logan Witt Hi :), you may have auto update on. Try this: go to your modapi folder, configs folder, open userconfig file with notepad, edit the line next to and from true to false, save. Try this method again. Should work, my ModAPI is working currently from this method.
+Fetid Bobo yep this was the problem, thanks
'inDe_eD ' Hmm, Community Manager position is probably draining over time, but that's unfortunate you didn't get the info you needed. I imagine they are expecting players to wait for the update, which since you've seen my video you know you don't have to :D. (I never wait, I reactivate it minutes after the update). Also the FAQ doesn't really tell you how to do what we're doing in this video. Souldrinker made an amazing guide that helped me build this video, but it is quite burred in my experience and I generally only find it via my bookmark lol. (Souldrinker is the dev of the program).
Logan Witt Awesome :D, glad it helped ^_^
I still get the same problem... Why?
i downloaded modapi but when i open it up it says i need to manually get the steam path so i do but it doesnt let me submit it
+Luke Boyd Hello!
(I personally haven't had this issue but I'll try to ~!)
thing what I didnt do, thats u know when u change the version number. i mean forexample from 0.30 to 0.38 u know. my forest is on 0.41b but i can see the 0.42b and 0.42c version number i dunno how in the version file.
what did u do when u highlighted the version and checksum?
I copy paste :)
I cant find anything with "Neither the game and" in the logs for ModAPI ... *
what to do?
+Fetid Bobo Thanks never thought u would reply. you've helped so much
:D Np ~!
I did exactly what you saaid but it doesnt work on 0.60b .. any ideas onb how to fix this?
Did you check the new guide, or at in the description/main comment follow the turning off of Auto Version / Auto Update? Everything is the same except one silly button (audo update/version) which was made default on for people after I had made this video - it's detailed in the description too (on how to turn it off) but the new guide also just shows how to do it~ ua-cam.com/video/pg4JAY5NzbY/v-deo.html
If you don't turn it off the feature will actually undo everything you did XD.
Modapi.exe is not in my folder, what do I do?
Most likely your AntiVirus ate it then, the program is designed to insert itself into another program and that looks really bad to antivrius, of course it doesn't know you actually want it to do that and is just trying to protect you.
I would extract the folder again and watch your AV, probably will tell you it is doing something like that - you can temporarily turn it off before you extract it too if you want (just be careful what you're currently doing and make sure to turn it back on then).
but my game version is v0.36 and there is not any v0.36 only v0.36b
Cheers :)
How can I update the modapi to version 0.31
Please help thanks
The two mods I mentioned aren't in the video because the came out much later (but I did tell people how to use mods :D):
www.modapi.de/mods/index.php/Entry/14-Cheatmenu-0-44c/
www.modapi.de/mods/index.php/Entry/9-Inventory-Mod-2-with-sorted-categories/
It Was Modapi that caused the problems haha.. I'll try what you said about different mods, I think I have a idea what one breaks it all :/
Thanks for your time, I'm one of those lazy people who would not reply, xD you got +1 like ;)
Np ^_^, appreciate the like thank you :)
But it has worked for a long time and stopped all of the sudden. But I would try to download it again but every time I try to delete it it says this file is being used in other applications and it won't let me delete it.
Used by another application sounds like AV got to it, do you have an AV?
what happened to modAPI?? it's not working
I updated the way you explained and it worked, but when in game, I could not save.
I'd definitely make sure you're using the latest ModAPI (download fresh from the website), and just so you can see the checksums here is a copy of my versions:
www.dropbox.com/s/j4auzydozx3cr9j/Versions%20-%20Copy.xml?dl=0
I followed the instructions carefully to update to version 39, whenever i save the notepad, i go back to check if its saved, its reverted to what it was before i editted it, Any fix?
ikr
That's the auto update doing that.. lol
Edit UserConfiguration file (right click edit, notepad).
Change
true
true
To false. (Just change true -> false) Save.
When I try loading up modapi it doesn't load. The loading bar thing gets stuck between the A and the P.
If that's good, then you should have your checksum look like: F863C6F69BB4DE0961BF18346F0A81F9377DDC5321E0A9DCD72BA364886572FFD7D5C940AA29C5702BEA1F786A80A48E2F8D5B7BD50A1A7947F2EA6B7A052DBB and the version for this update is "0.48b" ^_^
F863C6F69BB4DE0961BF18346F0A81F9377DDC5321E0A9DCD72BA364886572FFD7D5C940AA29C5702BEA1F786A80A48E2F8D5B7BD50A1A7947F2EA6B7A052DBB
I did what was in the description. And ya i totally put the version in wrong oops. Ill see if that works
So far no luck. But at the very bottom of that folder where it says "" should I have the checksum after that?
I don't have a logs folder in my modapi folder, what's that about? I'm using Windows 10 by the by
Nor can I open Versions with Notepad. Along with this my Versions app is named Versions.xml if that changes anything
However, just so you don't have to worry about that - here is the checksum for 47c:
17E72F2015BE5D0D874A2AE99150D43B589E092FA2048345EA89E29960940DB605DF57C0CEBA607EAAFAA0F5392FAABBA2960A4A7A78330B5E725D0FB50E0B42
Also do you mean ModAPI won't recognize mods or you can't even download them in the first place?
Then it will be 100% removed.
thx
I will try this this afternoon
How come in my game the health system hunger system nd the armour system is frozen
The Cheat Menu that comes with ModAPI is not the best Cheat Menu available since a few patches, also same story with Inventory Mod 2. They usually change the default mods every few updates but at this moment:
Inventory mod 2:
www.modapi.de/mods/index.php/Entry/9-Inventory-Mod-2-with-sorted-categories/
Try one, not both, of these:
www.modapi.de/mods/index.php/Entry/14-Cheatmenu-0-50/
www.modapi.de/mods/index.php/Entry/28-CheatMenuPlus-0-52b-0-50c-UPDATE-26-12-2016/
That should fix the mods/improve functionality :)
Will this work if i have non-steam The Forest? :( i really need it..
I've heard people making it work, but I have no idea how to go about that. I imagine there are some trainers that work though, less fully featured than ModAPI however. Once you get the chance though you can support the devs and ModAPI will be there :D
Thanks for a quick respond :)
np :)
plz... learn how to make it work plz.. ill sub!!1
Doesnt work anymore, Config files keep changing while im opening modAPI exe
Your auto update may be on, you'll have to turn it off then ~
Replied to another one of your comments on how :)
The comment on how used to be at the top but it looks buried so I just made my own, I think mine should float near the top.. XD
Also in the description now.
Mod API crashes as soon as I try to start it up I did this and it don't work.
Hey Man on .48b which is the hotfix update the modapi still says can not detect game version can you help me on this?
Yea :)
Top issues I've seen people, autoversion is still set to true (described in the description), accidentally removed at the end of the file (it should end with , didn't label the version right.
We can start from there~
can you help me through steam? add me TheUltimateVertex
I'm going to make a video on this soon, but have you tried this: www.modapi.de/index.php/Thread/300-ModAPI-Version-Updater/?postID=1527#post1528 ?
It just came out, and I think it might be a great solution for a lot of people~
so download the api version updater?
What that is, is a program version of what this video does. AllesKutEnter is the guy who has made theforestmap.com too, and he provided the source code if you were concerned on what it did. (It's good).
It can't fix issues like if you accidentally messed something up in your files before hand though, it doesn't check to see if your UserConfig or Versions has mistakes.
Made this slightly confusing but oh well
I'd use the 64 bit method if you have a 64bit system, it's much easier - the manual method doesn't get any easier unfortunately (if you followed the updated guide): ua-cam.com/video/tSOb1yOlrCE/v-deo.html&list=PLifiLYgrZMmRh4V3kXNs03B6EFgXzix6T
Updated version of the manual method (the link in the description): ua-cam.com/video/pg4JAY5NzbY/v-deo.html
thank you so much bro
No problem mate :)
all the mods in mod api not compatible with 0.41
Hmm I dont think all, but I don't use all of the ones from the website so.. Maybe it's those? Cheat Menu, inventory mod, spawn command, the core ones I've used for videos still work at least. (Used them this update, doing the update trick detailed in this video).
So there is no server for Modapi anymore as www.modapi.de is no longer a thing.
Saw this in the spam section in youtube, sorry for the delay respond careful putting website links in comments (youtube puts stuff like that into spam XD).
If you haven't found it yet, they do have a new website though: www.souldrinker.de/cms/
Dude you are a legend. Thank you so much
Np mate :)
well didn't work for me, sad
*BOOM!!!! it works!*
wow huge thanks and clever work.
Thank you ^_^
What if when I click on it I cant even run it?
Nothing happens.
I figured it out
Awesome :D ~!
How can I fix it where it says an error occured while loading mods?
What mods are you loading? Also I'd check to see if some mods were loaded even though it gave you an error, that's a different issue to updating ModAPI though - which is why I think maybe a specific mod is causing it. Or you have a reaaaaallly old ModAPI lol. (Can try to download a fresh one if you do).
does not work:(
It keeps saying checksum not found and tells me to press any key to close. What am I doing wrong anyone know?
hey~ I assume you're using the other video right? Make sure you open ModAPI, you get the could not detect game version error, close ModAPI, and then run the ModAPI updater that you downloaded from the link in that video~
Fetid Bobo
Weird, it doesn't say anything about the version being wrong and I'm playing on V0.50 Thanks for your help by the way!
Fetid Bobo
Ohh it opens like normal and I can even launch the game with it and everything. But the mod api doesn't seem to detect the new cheat menu or the inventory mod 2. And again thanks for your help! Going to subscribe to you too haha.
It's weird it doesn't show those two new ones as available mods. And I deleted the old cheat menu and inventory mod. Not sure what I'm doing wrong lol
i did what ever u suggest and it still doesn't
work
Did you turn off auto-update? One of the things that I noticed starting to happen a bit after this video was auto-update began to undo edits made to the Versions file, so hopefully (let me know if you don't see it), there should be a comment from me near the top of this video talking about how to stop that. Because yah, you can do all this work and then ModAPI can be like "naaaaaah" - and that's quite annoying XD.
i turned off the auto update and tried the whole thing again still doesn't work
That's my bad for confusing the variable names, it's auto versions - right next to auto update. I apologize, following my comment that guided how to do it though should have fixed it because ti includes turning off auto versions.
If you did that (auto version to false) and it still doesn't work, also consider that each hotfix uses it's own checksum. Usually they only do a hotfix or two but this patch had four.. which can make this process a little annoying cause you have to get the checksum for the hotfix they moved to.
there is no auto version next to auto update.
btw thanks for your time!! cant be stuffed anymore
Ooooh that is strange, were you looking in the UserConfiguration and there was no autp version? That's weird.. If you ever want to have another swing at it just let me know :)
Sorry that it isn't so straight forward, not by my design lol. I'm sure they have some reason for it.
my problem is it cant detect gamepath XD
Do you have a legal copy of The Forest? That can cause it to have difficulty finding the gamepath. Sometimes it does mess up even with legal copies though, you can go into the config folder and open the userconfiguration file (with notepad), from there at the bottom you can see where the paths are pointing and fix them if you need.
If your steam is messed up you can also turn of steam checking up at the top, change the value from true to false.
yeah i finally figured it out (idk how) but i put in the folder location for the forest in the place it said for me to put in game path manually
can please somebody help me with skype. i dont get it
who can add me in skype. egnarhernits
Can do steam :). Just woke up tho so let me eat real quick lol
Same name for steam
steamcommunity.com/id/FetidBobo/
i added you. my steam is Zinx
It didn't work and my error still came up
Looks like you deleted the message I replied to, did you get a chance to read it before it went poof?
Sounds like auto versions is still on, check out the description :) (There is also a newer and a bit easier way put in the description as well).
Fetid Bobo I got it to work but thanks
That's all the matters :D, have fun mate~!
Fetid Bobo it's not letting me connect to servers now
Hmm, I haven't had that issue on this particular patch - question: were you able to get on the servers before messing with ModAPI but after patch 50? It's easy to remove ModAPI and also fix other issues at the same time by going to steam, right click on The Forest in library, properties, local files, and verify file integrity. It will probably find 5 files (that's ModAPI) and fix them, if it finds more then definitely some other issue happening at the same time. Now you can test to see if it works w/o ModAPI. If it still doesn't work then its obviously not ModAPI.
I also saw a thread on reddit talking about this sort of thing here: www.reddit.com/r/TheForest/comments/5d0x42/trouble_connecting_to_coop_server_since_the_update/
can i use this for pirated version the forest
yesss
thanks it worked.
I'm glad it worked ^_^, can be a bit frustrating if it keeps resetting stuff, happens to some people ;/
in 0,49b it's doesnt working..
Seedy to tell if that is the issue by if your ModAPI shows an error or just gets stuck loading l.
i fix it, i forgot mark "read_only". you know what i mean?
Oh :D awesome glad it works :)
but i have a problem with auto build. I must press the key ( F ) a lot of time, before something will build..
This not work to me and how old are you ?
I don't have any
wtf.. good work but.. still not working. :(
Have you checked to see if it was reseting your text file after you ran ModAPI again? Hopefully the comment I self posted is appearing at the top for others, shows how to prevent autoupdate from changing your versions file, that's a common issue I've seen - where people have the autoupdate ruining the change. Hope it's the top comment.. lol let me know if it's not and I'll copy paste again. Should also be in the description though :D.
I CANT OPEN WITH NOTEPAD
You can preemptively open note pad and then drag and drop the file onto the open notepad :). Or are you saying your notepad is just broken in general?
Also I noticed you commented on the AllesKutEnter Updater way to update ModAPI, did you have an issue with that method? Or just wanted to try the manual way? I ask just because you don't need to do both :)
thank you so much for the help now its fully working :DD
and with wordpad?
So long as you open it as a .txt and it saves as a .txt, with a program that doesn't insert it's own information - then you can open it with whatever :)
wordpad should work no problem, although I used notepad.
With Wordpad i can't. With Notepad i can't too :/ Can you help by skype or another ? :/
Can't open it, or save it? Not at my desk.
I can't open ModAPI when i do the copy / paste
Are you labeling the update the right version? They've done an update for 42C now so it won't be just 42. Also just make sure you're not copying into the brackets and stuff like stuff , make sure you keep those in their proper order. If you don't the computer doesn't know where starts or ends appropriately. (Talked about where to paste it in the video, making sure you don't paste over important stuff :)
Notepad should work just fine for opening the file though, right click open with notepad, make changes "ctrl s" to save. If your autoupdate is on you'll have to turn that off otherwise ModAPI will reset the work you just did when you launch it.
help me i cant introduce the gamepath...
Hi, gamepath issues are different than checksum issues - what the game path issue is saying is ModAPI can't even find the steam folder / game. I think a common reason for this would be using a pirated version of the game, otherwise I might try to just download a fresh ModAPI and see how that goes.
Unfortunately though, the gamepath issue is not the same as just having to update ModAPI/checksum - there is something else going on.
its original!
im gonna try all i think its because i used other trainer but thanks btw
mau to Then ModAPI is just confused, I'd check the UserConfiguration file to see where it thinks your The Forest and Steam is, from that you can see if it is looking at the right spot if it's all wrong.
But I'm not sure if that'd help, depends on how the other trainer interacted with your game.
dosent work for me
Whats the message? Also did you try the newer method i linked :D?
yeah, tried that and it worked
Awesome, I think then accidentally you might have had autoupdate on - but if you got the new method to work I'd just recommend keep doing that, its much easier~! Happy its working for ya :)
Ok thanks bro:)
+IMods PRO3D :D Np!
nope didnt work, ill just keep it uninstalled and go back to not playing it till the mod devs fix it.
Did you make sure to turn off updateversions? That'll cause issues now unfortunately (and is the most common issue people may have). Otherwise yeah it should be updated in a few days.
Didn't work :-(
+Tony Williams Aww, dang - which part?
Change
true
true
To false.
Thank you ~!
is this a virus?
+minecrafter76789 YT There is always the chance something could be, I use it in a lot of my videos though. Also unfortunately how the program is built, it might set off some scanners. The program needs to inject itself into The Forest which can make some scanners suspicious, you may have heard these called "false positives". I haven't had an issue, but I can't say I've ran through the source code line by line. So, to me no - but there is always a risk when downloading something. You could think you downloaded the latest minecraft mod but a hacker hacked the website and changed the file type - bad stuff can always happen :(.
anyone can use modapi now?
If you still have the auto version and update on then it will probably error out when you try to use it, how to turn that off is in the description of the video but here it is too:
Close all the modapi related programs
go into the modapi folder
go to configs folder
go to UserConfigurations.xml , right click it and edit in notepad. If you're unsure about that, just open any notepad and then drag and drop the file into the notepad window
find autoupdate and updateversions and change both of them to false, do not remove brackets or anything just where it says true change that to false
save the text file by using CTRL S, you'll know its saved when you close and it doesnt ask you anything
now try to open modapi
Same story with update and autoupdate off. I start the game by modapi but i can't use any of the mods. I tried to use only one mod each time but no mods are working for me now.
Are you using a recent version of modapi or the new mods? Old mods don't really work anymore, also make sure you go to the new website for now: www.souldrinker.de/cms/
site offline check it by yourself
ModAPI's original website is offline yes, but www.souldrinker.de/cms/ is not offline.
I don't know to be honest I think so.
Don't think it's on or you don't have one? Like Norton, Avast, Mcafe, any of that jazz. If you don't have those make sure you downloaded the recent one, from the website: www.souldrinker.de/cms/index.php/downloads/
THX. MARRY ME :D !
Hahaha, :D np mate ~!
Fetid Bobo :D
dude i need help lol
What's up? haha.
Since someone else was having an issue I just uploaded my text file: www.mediafire.com/download/bvpw72h8y952o10/Versions.xml
You may still have to fight the autoversion issue though (autoversion undoes changes that make it work cause... it's weird). Can turn it off tho :P
If you HAVE to: \ModAPI\configs open UserConfiguration just like you did with Version (via notepad, don't double click)- and change the autoversions from True to False.
This file was for 47c, there is 47d now - just a warning :P
when i add the line of code it doesnt save it there
trying this for 49b
Make sure to follow the description, to turn off autoversion - can confirm the unsaving is done by that. (described in description). Something that wasn't auto on way beck when xD.
