Perfect car for the area and segment it’s aimed at. It’s great to see other parts of the world are not falling down the EV/20mph speed limits and ULEZ fiasco unlike the UK.
sure, let's just fuck up this world and not care for the future - feel free to move to the land of sand dunes, slaves, idiotic projects and murderous princes
The twin-turbo V6 might attract buyers who want better fuel efficiency and modern features, but the classic V8 engine will probably still be popular with long-time Patrol fans in the Middle East, especially because of its strength and off-road abilities. This could also raise the resale value of current V8 Patrols, leading to higher demand for both new and used V8 models in the short term.
Nissan really produce some desirable vehicles, from the GTR (my favourite 😊) to this stunning Patrol. I’ve also driven the latest generation X Trail and enjoyed it much more than I thought I would - to the point of wanting one. Great review Ped, and yes something different - nice to see you’re expanding your portfolio (so to speak). Would be interesting to see this latest Patrol side by side with a full fat Range Rover 🤔
The interior is undeniably more refreshed and up to date which is good. The exterior is fine but I prefer the y62 version especially the back. I prefer a gear stick rather than the buttons and of course the 5.6 v8. I’m Really glad that I didn’t wait.
As suspected it’s the same vehicle that’s been on sale here in the US since May 24, except it’s named the Nissan Armada. Out of curiosity I did try one, and the V6 turbo has plenty of grunt low down, but obviously not the soundtrack of the V8. Retail pricing starts at around $95K USD for the base trim without options. Just to confuse matters, I have just bought an Infinity QX80, which is a gen 6 Patrol/Aramda with a different front end treatment and a nicer interior trim. It’s a 2023 model with less than 20k miles and came with a Nissan certified 6 year warranty, for below half price of the newest version Nissan.
My 2023 Infinity QX80 is the previous gen as mentioned. It is the previous gen Armada V8 equivalent except in pretty dress. However I did test drive the latest gen 2025 Armada with the v6 turbo. Hope that’s more clear
I used to run an Isuzu Trooper from Argyll in Scotland to Dover and back towing a trailer with 2 ton of steel on the return journey and it was very comfortable and capable on a long journey. That car looks even bigger but I am sure it is every bit as good if not better as that was nearly twenty years ago and cars are always improving.
That 3.5 tonnes weight you quoted for this new Y63 is the GVM (Gross Vehicle Mass), and not the Tare weight of the vehicle! The Tare weight has risen slightly over the Y62 but will be around 2800kg with the current Y62 having the same GVM of 3550kg. The GVM is the maximum weight with all fuel, people, cargo and trailer down-ball included. So methinks the fully loaded Y63 will have less payload capability than the Y62.
Brilliantly delivered Ped. I love this car ! Gutted Nissan UK give us little farty ones. Spent a lot of time in Dubai and the mk6 model looked awesome so does this mk7. ❤
thx for sharing ,,, the newest version seems nicely upgraded way . i used to prefer the old versions of landcruiser but patrol win this year without a doubt . ty again , Greetings from Saudi Arabia ,
When you said 3.5t, I was expecting some kind of hybrid! Hope you got to try some dune bashing while you were out there. It's insane what the Patrol and Landcruiser can do in the desert!
What’s interesting is our old disco1 had towing weight of 3,500 kilos - so you could tow the trailer AND another disco1. Now, you can only tow the traile4 as you’d be breaking the law putting a patrol on it. You’d need a pretty big truck that has the capacity to tow the patrol legally.
loved the video! I’d like to correct one piece of info, it actually weighs between 2.7 & 2.8 tons (which is still HEAVY), but not 3.5. The 3.5 figure is for gross weight (with max load) if I’m not mistaken.
Well done Ped I think thats one of your beat presentations to date especially with all the distractions going on around you and good job by the cameraman. I think if ever they bring Top Gear back and I hope they will you would be a definite contender with Chris Harris, Harry, Henry Catchpole and Jayemm.
Great to see a Brit appreciate a legendary 4wd vehicle that does not wear a Landrover badge. The reason why Patrols and Land cruisers are not appreciated in the UK, is because 4WD's don't really figure in the UK. Where 4WD's are really used, Landrovers don't figure.
Great Video Mr P how the heck u got thru that smooth professional video with all the mayhem going on around u Great camera work too to fizzle out intruders excellent work god knows what Clarkson would of said a few swear words I imagine Looks nice a bit like the EV9 ! Great work team Pedro 👏
Great Video !! Just a serious correction on the vehicle. The car does not weight 3.5 Tons. Thats the Gross Vehicle Weight with all options and 8 passengers. The curb weight is around 2.6 to 2.8 Tons.
Excellent and a very comprehensive review given time constraints and access. As you mentioned, it's a very important vehicle for Nissan in Australia. So important that Aussie buyers will get access in 2026/27??? Aussie market never got Y62 upgrades like overseas market. It's only in the last 6 months or so that Aussie market has got an infotainment upgrade via a Nissan approved aftermarket supplier and installer.
What a delicious beast, love it. Is its size really an issue for the UK, I mean given the size and number of Amazon delivery vans around my home town 😉😂
Toyota Land Cruiser is known for its reliability. Nissan Patrol as well. But I think last gen’s of Nissan Patrol are more capable 4x4 than Toyota Land Cruiser. I mean stock versions.
And the Nissan Patrol will offer 2 engines a twin turbo and a non turbo for reliabity. The Land Cruiser only offer twin turbo engines and everybody knows that they are not very durabke and reliable
Hey Pete, another great video mate. Brilliantly delivered and interesting content. Can see why Nissan wouldn’t bring it to our narrow roads but what a beast! Also interested cuz I worked in that exhibition centre 2008-9! Cheers
Monster of a vehicle perfect for that type of landscape & the technology will filter down to the rest of the range! It did look very LR ish as it appeared from the smoke! Nice touch with chrome strip across the radiator as seen on the MK1 - I expect someone will import one of these to boss the school run lol!
Great video. Can't wait to see these in American shopping mall parking lots lol. Funny thing is the Patrol (or Armada to Americans) is kinda Nissan's best commuter SUV. The smaller ones generally have more reliability issues. But the Patrol is the one where Nissan didn't cut corners.
I mean, it's nice but i would stop at the "5th gen" Super Safari being my favourite. It's the best of both worlds. Everything in it is manual, yet at the same time all the modern features that we all love and need are also present. The reveal was exciting but all this Google/AI/Smart Cars thing is getting a little outta hand now imo. I don't like the idea of my blaady car blimmin sensing my frikkin body temperature. Next thing you know it'll force drive me to Fauci Ouchi station without my consent 😂
Don’t see the size issue for the UK. We have long wheelbase range rovers and plenty of commercials such as Ford Rangers and Transits that fit the road. Should be up to the consumer rather than Nissan taking away the Patrol, Murano, Pathfinder and now even the Navarra from the UK
When were you here? We could have had a beer!! These are a more than common sight here in the UAE. I like the looks< just wonder how it really do on the dunes.
The GQ and GU (Series 4 and 5) Patrols were huge here in Australia and really challenged Toyota, but the Y62 never got to the same level. It was a bit softer, and that v8 was thirsty, but it had great power which made it popular with the caravanning mob. Maybe Nissan have chosen to go further down that path, but we'll have to wait and see what it's like with dirt under the tyres. Toyota and Landrover will be happy if they have. That v6 should be a bit more economical...
Well that’s strange, there is an old Patrol down the road from me and it doesn’t look like any of those previous models. Was there a different body shape for the UK?
I’m in Australia and unfortunately a long way off until we get it in the showroom. 2026 to be precise, but it will be definitely on the radar if I can wait this long…..
Great looking car, about time it was brought forward to the 21st century with the tech. Issues I see are going to be with us Aussie’s as we love to mod our 4wd, setting them up for touring the outback and proper 4wd, so in saying that I can see by adding a few mods will see the car over weight fast and then the issue will be can you do a GVM upgrade given the new air suspension set up. Time will tell when they finally sell them here in Australia, in 2yrs time….
3.5 tonnes Pete......😵 I'm not sure how they would classify that in the UK, is it not bordering on being a commercial vehicle with that weight & 8 seats 🤔 It would, whatever it takes to register one, be a cheaper, more exclusive & no doubt more reliable alternative to a Range Rover...! The biggest challenge this behemoth is gonna have is reliability especially considering the new 9 speed transmission with fly by wire shift and the new 3.5TT engine. The 3.8V6 has no questions as it has been tried and tested by Nissan. Fingers crossed but i would not buy this as the new powertrain hasnt stood the test of time yet. Now on the looks side it kinda resembles range rover on inside and GMC denalli from the hood part and Navigator from back.
MMM they just get bigger and bigger and more complicated and more expensive. Being a Toyota user for over 30 years I am not a big fan of the Nissan brand, however many are. Key thing in OZ is service points around here. Not sure if Nissan is in the same league. All I will say is good luck to them and to all the development that comes with them and Toyota the for rest of their range will benefit as you said. I await your comments if/when you get a chance drive one. Thank you sir.
Wow that is some size of a vehicle it would not fit on some of the road I have driven today my Jeep was to big, also who could afford to buy the fuel!!

Since you said in Netherlands Is it right that manipulating the odometer in old cars is common in the Netherlands? Because a person from Netherlands contacted me for an old cheap land cruiser that wanted to be imported from Saudi to Netherlands and he said that he will change the odometer and refused to help him
Everyone has his or her own opinions and options on anything for me Nissan manufacturer should continue an i 6 engine as their heritage of Nissan patrol years of the patrol with the new v 6 with the same 🐎 horsepower and torque and continue with plain colors and two tonne colors because not everyone will accept two different colors on a vehicles..

Used V8 prices have shot up since the floods.
Won't be much of a saving if it's true what he said about the y63 weighing 3500kg
Fans in the Middle East know that twin turbo v6s rule. Look at the 3000hp patrol with a GTR vr38 in it.
New Patrol looks amazing 👍
Good thing you had Mario on hand to assist 😉
