*I forgot to give this a rating. It's 9/10 with the potential for 10/10 if he had the extra 10% wardsave and Wurrzag's defeat trait. Giving him the bloody trait for 20% extra hp would have been good too. That extra resistance would have made this battle a lot quicker*
I might have been missing them, but if not he probably shoulda also bagged Nakai and Kroq Gar if possible for that extra 10 + 10 MD

Imrik single handedly prevents the end times. And it still makes more sense than the actual lore.
I would give more credit to his dragon. Without a pair of wings he would have lost.

I know in most games and media that dragons are superior in almost every way (especially intellect and independence) but in WH2 they are much closer to wild beasts that are meant to be tamed and controlled.
It's like saying a knight is shit without his horse....chances are it's possible...but they are probably good because they are competent and their steed only aids that competence.

Killing unequipped Archaon in 3 hits. Guy was basically just high grade dragon food.
A lot of Archaon's beef comes from his items that give him loads of resistance.
Better put in a time stamp next time since the video's so long and not everyone would bother watching through everything.

I remember my last Imrik campaign. There was rarely a situation where I even considered the possibility that Imrik COULDN'T handle the whole battle on his own.
I'm playing Avelorn campaign right now and confederated Imrik quite early. Before I could afford a dragon doomstack for him, he had a basic army of archers and spearmen. What ended up happening in every battle was unintentionally winning with Imrik alone, not even using a wizard that much :P
Imrik & Fire Wizard was all I used.

yea after some time i did my usual setup for the army iw as using and then at the end i put imrik as close to the enemy as possible and watch him take most of the army by himself with some help from the fire wizard
Yeah, I've been saying this since the Calador DLC, Imrik is without question the best combatant on a monstrous mount. Probably the best combatant period. Kholek gets dumpstered by him(even without SoK). His melee defence is stupid high compared to almost anything, and the damage is straight up insane. You can easily get Wurrzag's trait on ME due to Imrik's starting location. Plus, his campaign dialogue is perfection. He is without question, the most High-Elfy High-Elf.

Yes! and he also murders the shit out of tyrion for those who think tyrion can hold a candle. The only one i think who would beat imrik is malus (if you put imrik in melee without charging which is stupid )
@@mr.joesterr5359 I don't think Malus' melee defense is high enough to compete with Imrik. If you level him right you can get him up to 120MD/150MA no problem, and even higher with disciple heroes attached to his army. Granted, I haven't played with Malus much but his statline didn't impress me.

Dragon ogres surround big targets. When a unit is attack from the side, it's -40% melee defense, from the back it's 70%. So the Shaggoth only attacks from the front while the dragon ogres can attack from side and rear hitting more times against a lower melee defense.
It makes sense but I never thought this mechanic existed. Thanks

Once again proving all you need is one unbreakable flying unit to take out the whole Chaos invasion, haha. Imagine how much more successful the invasion would be if they replaced all their units with Marauder Horsemasters...

8:35 I think people send a lot of battles against chaos because it's easier to find many of their armies together(since they spawn in a specific place), while finding many full armies standing together of other factions is hard sometimes
Imrik's cheekbones are sharper than any dragon's teeth
You should do a sword of Khaine for Dummies video. Go over which races are worth getting it and those who should never use it.
Never get it unless you are:
- a horde
- really in a pinch (but put it back later)
- a race that everyone hates anyway
- only if your race has ways to boost public order appropriately if you are no hord faction
The list:
Who can sustain SoK:
High Elves, Warriors of Chaos, Beastmen (Kinda), Nakai, Vampire Counts (if you go skeleton army), MAYBE Bretonnia.
Who can’t sustain SoK:
Literally anyone else.
Who SHOULD get SoK:
NO ONE (except maybe late game Warriors of Chaos). SoK just has way too many crippling faction-wide debuffs to make it worth using it, especially since all it does is provide a large buff to a single unit in your faction. Fun as heck, but impractical.
@@morganwithaneevee246 Vampire Coast because they can get by just on coves. I only had to take settlements to wipe out factions for victory conditions
@@morganwithaneevee246 by the time you can get over to acquire the SOK as Chaos, you should be fine to sustain in, the upkeep penalty is almost irrelevant with the money you will have from razing, especially with Archaon. High Elves can maintain it just fine as well as long as you aren't in the first like 30 turns. Mid to Late game Dark Elves should have already figured out their slave public order as well.

If they have a Channeling Staff they would never need to land, just keep using the Sword of Khaine then reduce the timer. It would also work with Morathi and Isabella.
Teclis too! In most of my battles he kills almost everyone by himself, with the rest of the army just tiding up some stray units.

For infantry killing if anyone is wondering:
Most chaff is at about 50hp/model
Most elite units are about 80hp/model
If I remember correctly most dragons can hit 8 targets (at least lokhir's dragon can).
Furthermore the most targets that can be hit by a single attack is 18, which is the explosion of ikit claw.
So mammoths are somewhere inbetween, probably at 10-12 models per hit. With 10 models a cap on elite infantry is at about 800ap damage (probably 1k weapon strength).
On chaff the same killing power happens at only about 700 weapon strength, which mammoths can get very close to with all their campaign buffs. And this is the main reason why mammoths are so dangerous, they may be close to the only single entity thst delivers its entire strength to infantry.
All those super-efficient and terrifying swoops at the end are how you'd imagine the dragons would fight. Now we need a mod that makes dragons to attack by swooping instead of landing!

I feel as though Imrik wouldn’t perform nearly as well against a ranged faction. Very hard to avoid guns on a dragon, plus they can shoot you when your engaged. For Sigvald/Malus being infantry is a big advantage as you take far less damage and ranged weapons are constantly obstructed. Imriks strength is his constant swooping - which you can’t do when your being shot to pieces

I like how Legend has been preaching on and on and on about how weak certain monsters are due to missile vulnerability, lack of splash damage, and being flanked my melee. But ONE TiTW campaign with Ikit demonstrating maximum cheese and skaven get harsh nerfs almost immediately.

Imrik to Ulthuan is literally Jack Bauer to America.
Both are underappreciated by the powers that be, both get the low end of the stick when someone needs to take the fall, both are more capable than any counterpart and, at times, single-handedly save the world, and both, despite all that, still support the side of good in the end. Their only difference is Jack was without pride and Imrik was literally pride-incarnate.

Legend your doing good job rating these doomstacks but i think you need to use more factors in rating an army
For example this particular army had the mobility advantage and being able to fly meant he could pick which enemy to engage and when to disengage
So i think you need to determine and classify some exact factors and rate these doomstack base on those factors
yeah, also takes over an hour just to win the fight, which negates the "mobility" advantage. It's also vs armies with no range.
I mean he mentions it the mobility is important but against a serious ranged army I'd hazard Malus or even grimgor having the advantage being able to get more friendly fire kills and dragons being hard to dodge shots (especially this imrik whose ward was comparitively low)

I've noticed the AI tends to consider most routing units as "low threat" and disengages, even when it would really benefit them by running down the unit. I'm guessing it's a "fix" to prevent the AI from chasing routing units across the map. Or maybe it's to prevent melee units from suicide running into other units when their original target routs. That's probably why Imrik shifted to the infantry right when the shaggoth routed.

I sometimes have trouble getting the right traits myself. For example, Grimgor Ironhide recently cock-blocked my effort to get Isabella Von carstein regeneration on Tyrion because he razed their last settlement when Tyrion was one flipping turn away
true, most factions you can bring back though, just a shame about the carsteins that you can't...particularly since they have 2 of the best traits...it's sad.

TBH, HE is just so strong lol
I cannot send mine because I use mods, I concur. His phoenix is faster, he has some free spells, hundreds of winds of magic, potion in most dire times and he can maximize also magic and fire resistances.

In my current campaign Teclis is level 40 and killing enitre armies moslty by himslef, but I didn't bother with trait farming, so he's not at his full potential. To be honest, I never bother with trait farming.

GG rear attack penalty. Most of the time you attacked the Dragon Ogres, Imrik would do a little hop forwards and the rest of them would curl into his rear arc.

everyone is praising imrik, but rly its the sword of kaine who beat them. I believe all u need is a lord on flying moster get decent gear for him and traits and that should be enough for any other lord to perform exactly the same
Imrik has access to one of the best doomstacks in the game. Imrik+ 1 fire mage + 18 Dragon Princes.
Yeah, the multiple units of dragon princes can cover for Imrik's single unit weaknesses, though having a life mage to heal those dragon princes wouldn't be too bad too.
@@ZackTanTYZ A fire mage is essential. You really don't need healing because the enemy dies too fast. The dragon princes are near immune to fire damage. So just charge the enemy in a wide line while also flanking and charging the sides/rear. Then when the enemy troops are stuck the fire mage together with Imrik's aoe abilities deletes clusters of enemy infantry and cavalry. Dragon princess can stand in the full duration of several firestorms without losing a single model so don't worry about friendly fire. The charge of dragon princes obliterates monsters like rat ogres and trolls by itself. Single unit entities get dealt with by Imrik in melee and dragon prince cycle charging.
I forgot to mention that it's also important to equip the fire mage with the crafted item that increases physical resistance for the entire army by 12%. Makes those dragon princes near unkillable.

Imrik is amazing. To me hes the best high elf character, at least in terms or strength. I like elthariels access to those otger units
