I actually have a friend who is in Slovenia now in a place called bled . £50 down to 14 for the train ride is unreal . Have you ever thought about patreon as be nice if you could get some contributions in some way or another . Im away on holiday from Tuesday next week so I’ll watch when back home . The Airbnb/Hostel definitely made us feel more comfortable going for 'rooms' as we continued! Slovenia is definitely on the more expensive side as we also had to pay 18 Euros for 3 nights for city tax. We were honestly about to pay £50 online so were shocked when we paid so little at the train station, it also worked out about two hours quicker than the bus. In a couple of videos from now, we head to Bled! It is beautiful but we had terrible weather. I think we would sign up for Patreon if we were a bit more successful as it feels a little cheeky to do so right now! Have a great holiday :)

Hey! Yes, so within Ljubljana the bus service is Arriva. You have a preloaded Urbana card that you can buy from ticket offices and from there you can scan on and off the bus. Our bus driver from the train station/city centre let us on for free because we didn’t have a card and from then on we just walked around. We took the local bus from Ljubljana to lake bled, you can buy those from the ticket office
Hello :) you do not need to do anything. A ticket inspector will come around on the train to check tickets and will rip half of the ticket for validation.

I’ve just been trying to search online for you as I don’t remember, I’ve found some information on Slovenian railways that says Zagreb-Ljubljana line runs 7.05am, 12.50pm & 19.38pm daily (so only three departures a day) tbh that sounds about accurate to what was the case when we took the train! Ok I'm a little confused, why are you so shocked about the price of the apartment? 33 GBP per night is very cheap (it's per apartment not per person), and the apartment does look very nice. I can't exactly pinpoint the location, I get that you are not exactly in the centre, but you probably only have a cheap 10 min bus ride to the city centre.
We weren’t “shocked” it was just that we had just come from Eastern Europe, Turkey (and Croatia) where we had spent £25 for an entire apartment, not just a room. It’s not expensive for Western European standards but again, as we said, it was just a change from what we were paying. We thought we made that clear in the video. I don’t know how this could possibly offend someone & we only mentioned that briefly in the video it wasn’t something we were continuously complaining about. It was 35 minutes out of the city centre & we had our own room - but everything else was shared with other guests, we also paid £18 city tax on top of that. Our entire channel is based on budget backpacking, what is expensive to us might not be for you!
@@ConnorandLivvy Well some countries in the balkan region are really poor if you compare them with the rest of Europe. But Slovenia is more developed than Eastern Europe countries, it's completly normal that more developed countries are more expensive
@@jaqen7122 Slovenia and Croatia aren't eastern Europe, at best they could be classed as southern Europe, and both are better off than Greece and Portugal. Croatian rail infrastructure is bit dated, not much investment in to it, this is changing now, there are even plans to build elevated main central station in Zagreb, like in Vienna, high speed line between Rijeka, Zagreb and Hungarian border is currently being constructed and line between Slovenian Border to Vinkovci will also be modernized for high speeds but kept at 160pmph limit. Also Both Croatia and Slovenia are in Eurozone, EU, Schengen and NATO. So no they're not Eastern Europe. I consider eastern Europe, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, perhaps Roumania, Serbia and Bulgaria if hard pressed, but Since Roumania and Bulgaria are also in the EU.... PS, just saw your comment, re-read, yeah some Balkan countries are really poor, Albania, Macedonia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Serbia and to a degree even Roumania, but things are improving for them a fair bit.

When you take ticket are they asking passport
No passport is asked for when you buy tickets but they check the passports at the border :)
