    I am an Urban Explorer or "urbexer", photographer and UA-cam creator with an academic background and passion for history, Cultural Anthropology and English with a focus on Celtic Studies. I grew up in a creepy looking 1800s home that later became the abandoned "haunted house" of the town. In 2016 I made the decision to start photographing and capturing on video these abandoned locations that I explored until then as a hobby. My recent focus has been on once great mansions, asylums and lost places. Currently I travel across the US, UK and Ireland to allow you to experience these places through me. I hope you enjoy the journey as we shine a light upon these forgotten places.

The camera footage, your narration, the music and your dedication to factual information and subtitles of conversation while filming...absolutely fabulous work. No matter how incredibly these once amazing mansions were crafted, nature always shows her strength in the end. The beautiful colors coming from this mansion make it appear as if it were coming from a famous artists canvas. What an amazing experience it must be visiting such incredible pieces of history. Nature really does enhance its beauty on these places of history. How old is this mansion??

      Amazingly just the 1800s but in a Gothic styling like some churches. This was one mansion that I was honored to capture as it has been so little covered and is truly beautiful in it's decay. I am glad you agree ☺️

    This place is so beautiful even though it's now just an outer shell. I love it's architecture! Absolutely gorgeous! The aerial panoramic shots are money. If Escher and Lovecraft had a love child it would be this ancient dystopian wonderland. You can feel the energy in the imagery of the video. You could really lose yourself in awe all day there. The musician in me wants to record a video of me playing guitar with the acoustics and ambiance captured in an artistic miasma of sorts. I really dig this location in your series of places in ireland.

      I think that is why I enjoy having Cousin Silas tracks on the current vids. I can just see him jamming out with the ambient guitar inside. All of the caterpillers, the moths, the beetles, grubs & worms. The families of shrews, mice, lizards & birds that have now made it their home. Also all the communities of plants. But evil things, in robes of sorrow,
      Assailed the monarch’s high estate;
      (Ah, let us mourn!-for never morrow
      Shall dawn upon him, desolate!)
      And round about his home the glory
      That blushed and bloomed
      Is but a dim-remembered story
      Of the old time entombed.
      And travellers, now, within that valley,
      Through the red-litten windows see
      Vast forms that move fantastically
      To a discordant melody;
      While, like a ghastly rapid river,
      Through the pale door
      A hideous throng rush out forever,
      And laugh-but smile no more.

    When people spent fortunes building these places I don't suppose it occured to them to think what they might look like in this century. If it did, would they have decided not to bother with such a huge & elaborate building? Some probably went into unsupportable debt to try to impress others.

      Yes, this one especially is a great example. The front is covered in marble and these places now look like some kind of jungle temple of a lost civilization. HOW should the world be luckier if this house,
    Where passion and precision have been one
    Time out of mind, became too ruinous
    To breed the lidless eye that loves the sun?
    And the sweet laughing eagle thoughts that grow
    Where wings have memory of wings, and all
    That comes of the best knit to the best? Although

    How should their luck run high enough to reach
    The gifts that govern men, and after these
    To gradual Time's last gift, a written speech
    Wrought of high laughter, loveliness and ease?
    William Butler Yeats

      Thank Natalie. Not at this stage, but you're bringing up an interesting point. Did you find it to interfere with the narration or to be somewhat distracting? I'm curious if others feel this way too. I would not be adverse to trying this approach next time. I really appreciate your input!

      I see what you mean. I've tried to use a bit of a different narrative, walkthrough approach. I can see how the music might distract from that.

      HI David., this and others we normally find via historic map searches and online college databases of historic sites. Normally we then track them down via satellite (Google).

    It would be wonderful is someone used the remaining stone shell and reinforced it with a steel superstructure instead of the crumbling bricks it has now. Some stones would have to be carved anew, and some replaced, but it would make a stunning building.
