Im always so impressed by Sana’s ability to jump between Japanese and Korean. Its not easy learning a second language especially when you start past childhood like they all did. The fact though that she thinks in Korean as well though shows good proficiency
Jumping between languages like that is called code switching, which along with being able to think in the second language is regarded as proof of having the same level of proficiency in the language as native speakers. It is definitely something to be impressed by, and is proof of how much effort and dedication Sana put in to learning Korean.
Now I'm waiting for Sana, Momo and Mina to be fluent on English tho Sana said she doesn't really want to learn English but she feels that she needs to, because of their international fans.
Its intersting how Itzy has such an emphasis placed on being able to speak functional English for international fans, while Twice sort of detests the idea. You have to wonder if JYP expected them to have the amount of recognition and success they have internationally, specifically, in the West, when they were initially being formed.
@@ib3scope I think it differs for each member like the J-line already learned fluent Korean I’m sure the idea of also learning English sounds exhausting But pre sure Nayeon, Dahyun and Chaeyoung have all said they want to learn English and are taking lessons
@@Clarkey7163 Nayeon's pronunciation has improved a lot. She stunned me in Cry For Me, she sounded so fluent. As for the J-line not wanting to learn English, I still think it's very impressive they have mastered Korean (or kind of mastered it haha) so it doesn't make them any lesser or anything. (Not directed at your reply specifically but just a general thought.) As a more casual Once, I'm a bit surprised by Mina's reluctance (?) to learn English, just a tad, since I thought she already had some kind of English background/knowledge and was the unofficial English speaker of the group? (Even if she wasn't super fluent.)
I don't think they "need" to. They already had to learn korean in the past, then you expecting them to learn a whole new language? On their busy schedule? Then how about tzuyu? Are you expecting her to learn japanese because they are big in Japan AND english too?
Sana is a language master among their international line. She can switch easily. As well as express in casual and formal versions of each on a snap too.
I don’t understand why people get so upset at Twice for not being able to speak English. Like Sana, Momo, and Mina are pretty much fluent in two languages (which is very difficult to do unless you started as a young child) and Tzuyu is maybe not as fluent, but she can communicate fairly well in three languages. I love Twice even though I only know a few words in Korean and even less in Japanese! As long as there are subtitles, I’m fine!
I've ,actually, always wondered this specific thing. I was curious as to if having to learn and actively use Korean for work purposes made the J-line less comfortable articulating more complex or abstract conceprts purely because they have more experience doing so in Korean, at this point. ^_^
@@wasgeht7102 Later of hearing the sound over and over again I realized they were pronounced differently from Japanese. Yet I was so confused at first...
She will probably learn English for work. But Sana was interested to become a Kpop Artist and she probably thinks that they won't be global but only known to Asia Pacific region. But JYP kinda wants to break into US market specifically since Wonder Girls. But as soon as she might be communicating to once fluently She might consider it. But I see Sana being in Korea or Japanese entertainment.
Not related but a fun fact I’ve always found particularly interesting was that Sana is more likely to or her “default” language when she dreams is in Korean.😇
This is what i been thinking.. like in sandaras case.. shes korean live here in the philippines she can speak fluent tagalog cuz she grew up here and she also can speak fluent korean cuz thats her mother tongue but what her thoughts.. it is in korean or in tagalog hahahhahaha
I still can’t hear the difference between ㄱ and ㄲ 😭 ㅋ is easy to differentiate from the other two because it’s the most similar to “k” but ㄱ and ㄲ do not register as different in my brain 😭

@@ib3scope that's because JYP wants to market ITZY to the Western market and made them learn English. Kinda like SM and Aespa.

I love when sana articulates things about her speaking in diff languages😭😭😭
All we need is a Sana language teacher
Is it just me or does Sana has the sweetest voice amongst all Twice Members 😍
Like japanese animation
Don't forget about Mina tho.
@@faultline3936 She has a calm and relaxing voice whereas Sana has a sweet voice

a close-up on Sana's face is the most beautiful thing possible.

It isn't that hard. Switching between languages if you speak them fluently.
Misamo will sing japanese ost in 20 January, look forward it , stay tuned " bouquet 💐 "
Sana is such an amazing woman 😍❤🥹
If I have to learn Korean and Japanese, I want Sana to be my teacher. She will teach Japanese and Korean easily and fun to understand

Pretty good explanation lol!
With the camera so close to a face that is THAT beautiful.........it's hard to concentrate on what she's saying.
She looks amazing in red. ❤
I think Sana is the best at switching between Japanese and Korean. She doesn't stutter much or looks like she's thinking.
What a genius! 😍
Cool Girl, Happy Girl and Mo 🇯🇵💙💙💙
MiSaMo 😍
Yes.
I have same problem as Sana (I'm learning Korean), when I think I'm pronouncing Ka right I'm actually pronouncing Ka in the Japanese pronunciation...
Could you tell us, how you notice whether you pronounce japanese ka, korean ka or korean ga?

The way Sana is smoothly gliding through japanese then korean.. Momo is glitching.
