I am glad that hog has brakes that work! Thank you for the message.
Mike that makes two of us. I was a bit concerned about the hog brakes going up and especially down that road!🤔🫣🤣
Amen to that one ❤️❤️. Thanks for the video and message Sam well done 👍❤❤.

Thank You for Sharing the Message ! I appreciate ya Sir . Stay warm Buddy !
Thanks Evert, I appreciate that! The road was definitely a fun project to do. I really enjoy the challenging road builds…
Another great video and message from Scripture, thank you for sharing!
Yup, and thank you for supporting the channel…
I just started watching you videos and i can say you do great work but more so i really enjoy your message on scripture good to see that there are people in the public eye that still stand for God keep up the good work watching from eastern Kentucky Kentucky
Hey John, welcome to the channel and I certainly appreciate the encouragement on sharing the Gospel! It’s amazing what God is doing to spread the message through this little channel and a goofball like me! Hope all is well in Eastern Kentucky!

Well Sam I said I would so here I am the job is turning out excellently and yup you're a down to earth person great enjoyable video thanks Sam
Hey Gary, good to see you on the channel and I appreciate you checking it out! I appreciate what you said…
Thanks
The road turned out great and thanks for the message.
BTW- I enjoyed your visit with DP and the guys on their podcast. God bless brother.
Thanks Derrick and glad you enjoyed the message.
I had a good time up in Derby with Mike and the gang. Thanks for watching it…

Wonderful message today!
Thank you Brady!😀
No need to rent something to break those rocks up. They still make picks and sledge hammers. As always, great message.
Oh wow! Now we are talking about some real work! 🤣
Glad you enjoyed the message…

You guys got lucky with the snow. Here in Southeastern Ky we have about four inches of snow and temperatures in the twenties. They say we can expect two to four more and temperatures in single digits! Great video today. Thanks for sharing and have a blessed night.
Sounds like y’all will have some slick roads for sure. Going to get bitterly cold here for the next few days. Probably going to freeze all this rain to the roads. Glad you enjoyed the message and God Bless…
It nice to watch your message and hear the real truth, your videos are so easy to follow as to what’s going on, as are the messages! Thanks again for your time
Thank you Brian! 😀👍
That seems like a good idea the way you're planning on using the rock in the road as a sediment trap. I would have probably been to bull-headed to quit messing with it. Lol. Your way is a lot better.
I appreciate the message too. Its great that God has allowed your channel to grow so you can help spread the Gospel. Stay safe brother.
Thanks, that is about all I could figure out on that rock. Would have been a bit costly to hammer it out.
The Lord is truly blessing the channel to get the Word out. Humbling to know He is using a goofball like me to share the Gospel this way…

@@tristardiggin you made me think about the people in the Bible God chose to use. Some of them had a pretty shady past before they were saved. We don't need to be perfect to be used by God, just forgiven and willing.
PS, you're not a goofball, I know because I am one. I've even been to the meetings about it. Lol.
Well, you have a point! He did cause a donkey to speak! 😀🤣😂
In a world where you don't know who or what to believe it's reassuring to know my Faith & Trust in the Lord is unwavering. Thanks Sam. And, Yes, it's snowing today in upstate NY.
John that was well said! Still not snowing where we live but bone chilling cold tonight.

Good to see a local guy on DP podcast. Great video and message as always Sam
Thank you Ron and I saw your comment on the podcast video, I appreciate the support…

Thanks! 😀 I’m enjoying jobs like this more because I’m not moving equipment so much. It turned out great.
Sam
Love everything you do.
Keep it up!!!!
You seriously need a tag line like , " Dirt work with a message " .
Hey thanks, I appreciate that! I agree, I do need a catch phrase like others have but I just haven’t come up with something that works yet…
Sam
Man that job is shaping up nicely Lt. Sam... your transition from super cop to chicken whisperer to construction guru is almost complete ... but lets not forget UA-cam star
Hey thanks, I haven’t thought of it that way but now it makes me wonder what’s next! 🤣😂🫣
Looks good. I bet it would be a nice sledding hill today. Hope you’re staying warm.
The sledding would be fun but the sudden stop at the bottom would be rough!😀🤣
Thanks…
Thank you for the messages!! It’s nice to see people not afraid to be themselves and share the word!!
Thank you Chris I appreciate that! God has certainly given an opportunity to share the Gospel on a platform like this and it’s amazing what He is doing through it…

So awesome!! Amen brother

I'm a new subscriber, I found your channel by watching DP podcasts with you as the guest. I enjoyed your video, and I love the message at the end! God bless you and your family.
Hey Clint thanks and welcome to the channel. I appreciate you checking out the channel. It was cool to hang out with those guys in Derby Indiana. Glad you are enjoying the message…

Sam your better than DP. That road look steep but nice. That's going to be a good size house. Keep up the good work and thanks for the message 👍
Hey John, that road is very steep but should work out fine for them. Glad you enjoyed the message…

Thank Scott for the comments to help the channel grow! 😀
Awesome Job and Message!!
Thank you Greg!😀
Love the video and message. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Butch, I appreciate that!😀
It's looking good Sam but I bet you are wore out after getting in and out of the equipment that much. Excited to see the finish product.
Man you said it! There was a lot of climbing in and out on this job…

Suunto clinometers are the best. I learned how to use one doing Forestry work back in the 90's to lay out timber sales. I'm a full time remote office chair warrior these days.
I’ve been a chair warrior too the last few weeks with all the bad weather we have had. 😀
Looking forward to using the clinometer, I think it will help a lot…
AMEN!
Thanks Allan! 👍😀
I do not want to be a know it all, but when your not using your mast take the cables off. They are very expensive and usually when they are broke you have to buy a new one. The best thing to do is take them off when your not using your 2D system and get a cap to cover them. Does that make sense? A cap to cover the pins on the junction box and on both the mast.
Thanks Richard, I normally take them off but was also working in the basement with the 2D system. Will be in the next video.
Thanks,
Sam
Another great video. I just finished re-watching your podcast with DP. The latest one is much easier on the ears. The first one was tough to understand. You did a great job. I learned alot about you. Keep up the good work.
Thank you Charlie! I’m glad Jason got the sound working better. It was much easier to listen to after he fixed it. I appreciate you supporting the channel…
The blade looks sweet!! We got snow and cold here. Been in the negatives. Not fun. Tractor died in the field after loading only 6 bales for a customer. Was trying to shoot a UA-cam vid that day too. Just had to quit. Great video and great message Sam!
Didn’t even get to use the blade! 😡
Looks like old man winter has locked in on all of us. Sounds like the diesel gelled up, not fun. 🥶
Thanks
@@tristardiggin can you push dirt with it as well or is it the spring loaded strictly snow type blade?
@@poorfarm-nn6ii It is a spring loaded blade. It pretty tough I suppose you could push loose dirt with it but mainly built for snow and light material…
@@tristardiggin kewl. I haven’t used either type of blade on a skid. I’ve thought about a dozer blade for mine. I hear good and bad stories.
@poorfarm-nn6ii I haven’t used it in any snow yet and have had it for several years. I had a dozer blade a while back but wasn’t impressed with it.
looking good
Thank you Kieth!😀
Great message Sam! Road looks good good thing to y'all don't get much snow in that area. Climbing up that road looks like it could be tough. It's going to look great once you finish it using those boulders as a catch basin is great idea. GOD BLESS AND BE SAFE OUT THERE!
Thanks Jim! Fortunately they will be able to use that little side road when the weather is bad. The boulder catch basin will look pretty good, I think.

Thank you Kevin and I appreciate you watching and supporting the channel…😀
Sam this project is coming together really looking good. And the message was just fine without the snow.
Tom I appreciate that! Wow, I had it all planned out. It was coming a big snow while I was preparing and when I got ready it turned to rain! 🤔🙄
Thanks and God Bless
Plenty of snow in MI if you want some. Great video and message
Thanks Brad. Was hoping for a little snow but instead we got bone chilling temps…
I love that dump truck
It is a great truck and not sure I ever got by without it!
Thanks,
Sam
I love the story of how you got started with your business. It is inspiring to me. I always thought if I could just afford a skid steer and a dump truck and trailer then I could eventually get something going to move up to other equipment. But even a skid steer is ways beyond my budget unfortunately. I have rented them from United rentals and sun belt rentals when doing grading work for concrete. But I never really got enough concrete jobs to stay afloat. Not a lot of construction in my area. But I have seen some reviews on the little mini Chinese excavators. I know most equipment operators would say that they are junk. And compared to a 2000,000.00 cat I would definitely agree 100% but my thinking is that if I can get one then I could do some smaller jobs like digging waterlines and such. And maybe make enough to afford something a little better. And for around 6 to 7 grand is certainly more in my reach than 60 grand or above. I have worked on several different construction sites for different companies and I did most of the equipment operating work. I am not an expert but I can use an excavator and backhoe and skid steer fairly well. One thing that I liked about those little mini excavators besides being so cheap is that they come with a briggs & Stratton 13.5 Hp motor and will run upto 3 hours on 2 gallons of gas. I have done a lot of small engine repairs on lawnmowers and chainsaws and weed eater’s. So I am familiar with those motors and they would be very easy to replace if needed. Only thing I didn’t like from the reviews is the track coming off pretty often. But even purchasing different styles and sizes of buckets were only a couple hundred bucks more. So that’s something I am considering buying hopefully this year. I have tools for just about any job I have a brand new plate compactor and a new transit laser level and I purchased all my concrete finishing tools. I thought I might just start out with smaller jobs like replacing sidewalks or adding sidewalks where they want them. I have been working on a plan to get something going. The normal 9 to 5 just isn’t getting me anywhere in life. Watching your videos and seeing how you got started and what you have obtained in just a couple years is absolutely incredible. Most people get into debt and purchase a house and a car and work a 9 to 5 and barely living from paycheck to paycheck. Unfortunately I don’t own my own home so if I stay working a 9 to 5 all I will be able to do is pay rent and utilities and eat out twice per month. So I thought about getting the little mini excavator and I believe it would pay itself off in a short time. It’s easy to haul being only 1 ton. What do you think?
Hey, I appreciate what you said and glad the videos are helping fuel your desire to start your business. Starting small and working your way up is definitely the right approach. I would say work your steady job and do excavation/concrete on the side until you see the steady work and pay lining up to where you can go full time. Reinvesting your available profit back into the business is the right idea. Far too often folks use available profit for toys and luxury rather than the future growth of their business. It is very difficult to get started but with quality work and a mindset of making every job top notch it generally pays off. Just simply showing up when you say you will be there will win most jobs you look at. Honesty and hard work wins jobs!
Hope that helps and I wish you well!
God Bless,
Sam
I too just watched the podcast with Mike. I also learned a lot about you. I understand the importance of the grade control on the equipment, especially working alone most of the time. But frankly, you are pretty darn good without it. I love how you finish jobs, very neat and clean. I look forward to each episode. The message was really good too. Thanks be to God. Thanks Sam.
Thanks Steve, I really appreciate that! I really enjoy the finish work because that’s where the whole job comes together and looks it’s best. I sure do like the grade control system too. It makes my work much more efficient. Biggest thing is you don’t waste a lot of time and wear on the equipment.
Thanks…
I truly enjoy your channel my friend -- I learn a lot, and you do a great job with the video and audio quality.
A local clutch re-manufacturing shop might be able to reline those brake pad backing plates for a really fair price...But like many things these days, those shops are harder and harder to find.
Stay safe, be blessed, and keep up the strong work.
Hey thanks, and I appreciate the feedback on the audio and video. Coming from a sound guy that is good news! I will check on getting those relined. Another viewer mentioned a place in Nashville might could do it.
Thanks and God Bless,
Sam
Hey Sam after watching the first 5 minutes your exactly correct with the Clinometer i used to build roads in wv we used both clinometer and abney level something that might work for you is to measure the distance from your eyesight to the ground and make a reference point of the same on your dozer or excavator Park them on the slope your working on and this will save you tons of time and be a fairly accurate line of site each time you shoot slope also old timers will tell you the longer you can make the road the less steepness you will have hope this helps you out brother 😊
Thanks Brian, I appreciate the info. I will try that out. I’m excited to try out this new tool. It is simple and easy to use which is right up my alley…
Hey Sam by any means not meaning no harm to your channel looks great and just trying to give some friendly advice been doing excavation for close to 40 years now also how do you like the GPS on your dozer after running old school for so long it drives me nuts I do use it on my road grader quite often but dozer and excavator rarely do I use it just trying to get your point brother
@@brian7327 I love it! Being new to excavation it really cuts down on the time it takes to do grade work. Working by myself I was constantly getting in and out of equipment checking grade, making marks etc… I can see grade with my eyes but the grade control was a huge help to me. Wouldn’t want to do without it now. I can see what you are saying having 40 years of experience. You can see and feel grade work without a doubt…
Thanks
And no harm at all. I appreciate info from folks who have been in the business as long as you have been…
Fairly new to your channel and love the videos. On a hill like that, will you put geo down before you stone it, or just put the stone down on top of the clay? As a born again, Spirit filled believer it is awesome to listen to your messages at the end of your videos. Keep doing what you do
Hey Shawn, I appreciate you watching and supporting the channel! I generally only use fabric where the ground is soft. This road packed down really hard and the owner was going to have some bigger rock for a base and then crusher run which will pack down really good.
I appreciate the feedback on the message. God has given a great opportunity to reach folks with the Gospel message…

I've heard of companies that will rebuild friction surfaces on rare clutches and such. I wonder if something like that might be a cost-effective solution to your parking brake situation.
I believe that is right. A couple other viewers mentioned that and gave me a couple places that may be able to do it. Hope so anyway. That would save me some money…

Keep doing your thing Sam ! Road is looking good and basement is getting there. If I was closer, I’d offer to come help 👍🏼
Hey thanks I appreciate it! The job turned out great. Next video will finish up what I recorded there…
For future reference, look up "Demolition Dave's drilling and blasting" he does a lot of rock and stone removal in residential areas, so with that huge rock, he might excavate around it, drill several holes and possibly split it using feathers and wedges, or full the holes with expanding grout to crack it, then you have pieces small enough to move.
Good info, thanks Russell! 😀

Looks like a steeper slop on the road now.
Oris that the angle of camera.
Camera doesn’t really show how steep it is. But it is definitely a steep road…

Can’t really see on tv but becareful filling in putting dirt by trees if you cover up any part of tree it will die in couple years cuts off oxygen sounds silly but it will kill it slowly anyway just info do as you please with it lol

Great message today sam Philippines 4:13 i can do All things in which Christ strengthens me just curious did customer not want the uphill of his road sloped I found in the past when building roads start sloping your bank while building road when done it's easier to maintain and weather won't cause freeze and thaw as bad to slide out bank definitely not raking you in anyway just trying to give hints that 5 will hang in there loved my 5 G
Hey Brian thanks, I appreciate that. He was good with the steep bank rather than expense of sloping it. He has a skid steer and mini x that he will use to keep the material cleaned up.

Can you have the original pads relined someplace.
Maybe so. I’ve had a couple folks comment mentioning the possibility of getting them relined. I’m going to check into it…

I know that hill is way steeper in person lol
Yup, definitely hard on an old man to walk up it as many times as I did! 🤣
JCB is notorious for having an awful parts and service department, especially in the US. Everything's expensive and hard to get and it's hard to get up with anyone. Good Works Tractors has a video or two about it. I hope it works out long term, but I wouldn't have bought one.
That is the same experience I’m having so far. Simple parts I’ve looked for so far have been expensive and hard to find. But I do enjoy the truck.
