People need to accept that the Shelly is not 100%. There is a real possibility that Shelly might not medal at the Olympics. She is a true legend. Leave the woman alone.
I think Shelly pulling out is a sign she’s not ready and taking the time to get in a little more training to peak later, since she’s obviously much slower now given the realities of age and injury. She is such a seasoned veteran she doesn’t really need to worry about racing right now. She can easily use the rounds of Paris for training.
