- This is a Video Walkthrough, looking at all the details of a Stunning Black and Gold Cosy Home.
14.1m x 4.2m, 2 bedroom Cosy Home
Cosy Homes is a Canterbury, New Zealand based, family run business which started with the goal to rethink the construction of a home from the ground up. Through years of research and testing, we have questioned every aspect of home construction and created a home that is quick to build and affordable, while also being robust, comfortable and incredibly well insulated.
This design is very clever and I especially like the 2 entry doors for the bathroom design.
Thank you for your comment, we love the 'Jack and Jill' doors to provide accessibility into the bathroom. It creates the ensuite feel from the master bedroom. The Cosy Homes team.
My husband, myself and my dog could live nicely in this small but well designed home.
Thank you, we have lots of people with animals purchasing our homes. We can give the option of a small dog door or cat door also. Thank you, The Cosy Homes Team.
Love this tiny home, super clean and modern❤
Thank you, we love it too. The Cosy Homes Team.
Perfect retirement size. Wish I had it parked here in Florida. It's wonderful.
We totally agree. Less to clean and still wide enough to feel like a home. Thank you, The Cosy Homes Team.
This home is nice! Would be nice if you could set up an office in the US.
May I know the size of the tiny house? Thanks.
This particular style is 14m x 4.2m (60sqm). Thank you, The Cosy Homes Team.
Thank you for your comment. We are in New Zealand, so not any time soon unfortunately. Thank you, The Cosy Homes Team.
The best small home I've seen! U.S. soon please 🙏 😊
@@ruththomas4915 Thank you so much for the compliment. We love them too. Unfortunately, we are a New Zealand based company and not looking at going 'worldwide' yet. We hope you can find something similar close to home. Thank you, The Cosy Homes team.
Beautiful cozy home. I’d buy it!!
Thank you for your comment. The Cosy Homes team.
One of my favorite homes so far! Very nice!
Thank you, we loved this one too, the contrast of the black home and the wood windows and doors really looks lovely. The Cosy Homes Team.
Well done.
This is beautiful.
Great finishes.
Cheers
Doug 😎
Hi Doug, Thank you for your feedback. We love it too. The Cosy Homes team.
Your layout is great. Love the windows
Thank you, a lot of research has gone into building these. UPVC is a great option and it has a higher thermal resistance rating than aluminium, which means it's better at keeping the home warm in winter and cool in summer. The look is also an advantage. Thank you, The Cosy Homes Team.
Tiny homes that make sense!
Thank you for your comment. We love that our homes are all one level. The owner has done a lot of research into tiny homes, and since he has opened the business ideas have been organically evolving to make our Cosy Homes better as time goes by. Thank you, The Cosy Homes Team.
This is lovely!!!
Thank you, we love it too. The Cosy Homes, Team.
The point you make about the pvc window frames and condensation is really interesting. In winter, metal frames do suffer from condensation. Wish the use of pvc window frames was more well known here in Australia
We have been using UPVC from the start with our Cosy Homes, we wish more people know about it too. Thank you, the Cosy Homes Team.
Would wooden frames work out, too?
Although aesthetically the wood grain a lot of people love, we haven't used wooden frames for windows and doors due to they are higher maintenance compared to aluminum or UPVC, it's great to have a 'wood' look UPVC option. Thank you, the Cosy Homes team.
@@EffieG-ez9tf Sorry I'm not sure what you're asking??
I really like the size. There are a few changes to make. Its just the perfect size for a couple..
We have different sizing options, and things can be 'tweaked' around to make the Cosy Homes more suitable for specific customers. Thank you, the Cosy Homes team.
❤🥰😍 gorgeous
Thank you, we put a lot of research into these homes, we love them too. Thank you, the Cosy Homes Team.
Güzel
What is the square footage of the home? Also, can you tell us more about the condensation and mold problems that some tiny homes develop because of inadequate air circulation?
This Cosy Home is 60sqm or 645 sq foot. Our homes are mega-tiny homes, we don't have the same issues as 'tiny homes' so we cannot advise on these issues, sorry. I would recommend to anyone in any home to make sure you ventilate your home well. If you are worried, you can install an HRV system that works automatically and keeping your wardrobe aired would be essential, as doing some research this seems to be where there are most likely issues for tiny-home'ers.
These are so much nicer than those Chinese container houses. Are they available in the Philippines??
Thank you, unfortunately no, we are located in New Zealand. Thank you, The Cosy Homes Team.
Washer dryer?
Fridge?
@@MaeWilliams-vq5wfThere’s space for a fridge in the kitchen, pay attention.
There is a space behind the sink for a microwave and a fridge. Thank you, the Cosy Homes team.
Is the “heat recovery system” 8:12 the same thing as the standard heat pump system some people put in their homes?
Heat pumps can both warm and cool. HRV systems are for ventilation, not heating. The ability to raise or lower the temperature of the incoming air is only a secondary benefit. Thank you, the Cosy Homes team.
What is the average price?
Thank you for your question, please see our website, this is in NZ$.

Thank you, the Cosy Homes team.
What is the cost of that black plastic wall compared to the other wall material in this house, and who is the manufacturer of the black plastic? Is it sourced in the U.S.?
Thank for your questions. This is a product called 'Save Board'. it is "Low Carbon Building Materials made from Upcycled packaging", it is available in the US, and worth looking into. We charge the same for any feature wall, whether wooden or plastic. They make ours in New Zealand but the idea originally came out of the US. Thank you, the Cosy Homes team.
Its nice, but black??? I hope its somewhere where the temps doesn't get above 85. In phoeinx you would roast in there!
We are in New Zealand, and this has an air conditioning unit in it that can cool the temperature inside during the Summer months that is very effective very quickly due to its size. We would also recommend blackout curtains for the sun to help keep the temperature down. Thank you, the Cosy Homes team.
What size is it?. What state.
Hi there, these are being built in New Zealand, not USA sorry. This is 60sqm (645.835 sq feet). Thank you, the Cosy Homes Team.
I like the way the worktop corners are at eye level just for small children to run past and rip the eye out, bad design.
Thank you for your comment. In this particular Cosy Home it has an 'L' style bench top. If you had small children and were worried about this, we can leave it as a straight bench, there are options and happy to work with individual customers. Thank you, The Cosy Homes Team.
Where’s the laundry space?
We have a space available in the bathroom, beside the vanity. Alternatively we can put a space within the cabinetry in the kitchen for a front loader. Thank you, the Cosy Homes Team.
How much is this home and do you sell in the U.S.A.?
Hi there, we only sell in New Zealand, sorry. Thank you, The Cosy Homes team. www.cosyhomes.co.nz
How much would it be in American dollars?
Hi there, with today's exchange rate you are looking at around USD $101,500.00. NZ$164,610.00 Thank you, the Cosy Homes team.
@@CosyHomesNZ thanks
Laundry?
He already said it’s in the bathroom. PAY ATTENTION
Thank you for your comment. There is space in the bathroom for the washing machine (top loader or front loader), and this is plumbed through under the hand basin. You can put a front loader washing machine in the kitchen as an alternative. Thank you, The Cosy Homes Team.
Love that there are two, main floor bedrooms, & I understand that the mirror doors would make the room feel bigger, but they are largely antiquated and very 80's! There's also a lot of storage in the kitchen, maybe too much where a large refrigerator and stackable washer and dryer could feasibly go. Nice home, but no frills and very basic, & I'm sure the price tag is hefty! Some of these tours are way too long, and I feel like it's done deliberately, in a case, where there isn't much to the home, so they must hyper focus on any features of the home, like the black feature wall which is dreadful, cheap looking, and breaks up the room too much, and the living area would seem a lot larger, if not for the tacky, cheap looking feature wall! This house definitely needs more pizzazz, and I forgot those dreadful, massive handles, in the bathroom, and maybe throughout, are way too big and menacing looking, detracting from the room. Somebody get these people a proper designer and stager, please.
JUST STOP 🛑 it’s fine if YOU don’t like it just stop 🛑
Thank you for your comments, we appreciate that you took the time to watch our videos. It's always nice to have feedback and where we can we work with the individual customer to change things around if they want. We keep the price down by standardising certain things in our build, but we also have a range of designs to choose from. Thank you, the Cosy Homes Team.
Never happen in USA...Too Practicle and inexpensive.
We are based in New Zealand , so we are not sure on the regulations in the USA. We love helping people into affordable accommodation. Thank you, The Cosy Homes Team.
