Absolutely fabulous performance...such talent! One of Pet's outstanding pop hits and a breathtaking, autobiographical songs, Two Rivers. Just beautiful!
Cannot say enough wonderful things about Petula. Heck of a writer too. But the fashions and wowza sets are so fab too! Imagine a vocalist singing LIVE without pyrotechnics and 20 dancers behind her to distract from her singing. Oh no, not her, not then. True talent. Bravo Petula!

I haven't heard or seen this in a very long time but it just bolsters my love for her talents which I have never wavered in. The fact that she is still performing, recording new material and still finding new challenges like her appearance last month at the Copredy festival in England shows the artist she is. And the fact that she admits trying and failing to be superwoman, tops in her career and completed devoted to her children proves her humility and honesty, not traits all our celebrities display. Yet I don't know what choices she might have made differently given her values. She essentially turned away from emphasizing her American career due to the wishes of her children. Even without being able to be superwoman she certainly has had an amazing career from dancing with Fred Astaire, being directed by Francis Ford Coppola to recording Chaplin's last great song and playing piano for him in his home in Switzerland while he danced and pantomimed. Perhaps she could have made different career choices if she wasn't who she is and what she values.

Such a polished performer and puts her heart and soul into her performances. She lives each song she sings. Loved these recent clips from the fabulous variety show The Danny Kaye Show and he was very excited with her as a guest. They also came together in Europe during some of the Unicef concerts around Europe.
Magical to see a live version of Two Rivers. It's such a personal song that I always thought that it would be much better sung live than on disc. Merci beaucoup!
Thank you Alan. I believe this was from the Danny Kate show. The clarity of her voice and her gorgeous eyes are both extremely apparent in this clip. I wish she had made better career choices and had been taken more seriously as a singer and actress. Of course she is still with us and is about to embark on a U.S. tour in November,in time for her 85th birthday.
