Spent an hour with a metronome, got from your original 40bpm(80 half speed) up to 200! By 140 my technique got good with the thumb and ring finger tap. Thanks for a great lesson. Going to go right through the playlist
I've searched many videos in a quest to demystify Flamenco right hand patterns. Some are good but you have really nailed it. Really good explanation and use of video to make things clear
Really like your explanation of golpe. This elusive, intriguing technique is benefited by your realistic example of what it sounds like at first. Your message to persevere and know it can smooth out through practice is very encouraging. Thank you.
You’re so right! It is exactly like that at first!…Elusive But you’ve just got to trust that after enough times, those two fingers will eventually work together on time. He or she who persists wins!🎸

That’s awesome “PissingRazors” LOL! Hey how about this exercise for paradiddiles: taco + taco + taco + taco + burrito + burrito + burrito + burrito + enchilada + enchilada + enchilada + enchilada. …I remember that from my days in High School marching band. Hey man, hit me up when you need help on flamenco guitar. ¡Paz!
Wait…I stand corrected: I forgot that I actually had a set of carbon strings on this particular guitar. I completely forgot! I usually don’t use those.
They are made from fluorocarbon/nylon. Have a brighter sound with quicker response. Nylon strings to me feel smoother and the tone is more even and traditional.
Hi Ruth! Thanks for stoppin’ by! After playing your A string, rest your thumb on the D string briefly. This will be a rest stroke. Secondly, make sure the edge of your thumbnail is filed nicely-otherwise you won’t be able to produce a quality tone.
¡Gracias por las amables palabras! Me alegra que lo preguntes. Cuando enseño en inglés distingo entre “slap” y golpe, pero cuando enseño en español no distingo.
Wow ! am I out of touch with technology !__thankyou Ben --I thought you meant stainless carbon steel wire or nickel plated brass !--- Fluorocarbon /nylon- strings !--a leap in technology !
A Rumba tutorial shouldn’t be more than a 2 minute video. There are plenty YT shorts teaching Rumba and those are much easier to follow. I’m not sure what’s up with all of you channel owners giving. 10 min to 20 min tutorial on Rumba. Sorry for being so straightforward
Hi Ravis. Perhaps you have a point, but my channel is for students with a longer attention span. The UA-cam algorithm has favored this video head and shoulders over others…so go figure.

@@CarlWinter-oy8uf oh, yeah, 100% nylon top to bottom

Just missing some nice remate as you always do !
Nice lesson --looks like your top thin strings are not nylon --must be wire?
Wait…I stand corrected: I forgot that I actually had a set of carbon strings on this particular guitar. I completely forgot! I usually don’t use those.
Great Video !
Beautiful! Thank you
Hi Ben --sorry --what are carbon strings ? never heard of carbon fibre strings ?-are they better than nylon ?
They are made from fluorocarbon/nylon. Have a brighter sound with quicker response. Nylon strings to me feel smoother and the tone is more even and traditional.
The A string on my guitar not sure how to make that sound. Are pressing other strings for it?
Hi Ruth! Thanks for stoppin’ by! After playing your A string, rest your thumb on the D string briefly. This will be a rest stroke. Secondly, make sure the edge of your thumbnail is filed nicely-otherwise you won’t be able to produce a quality tone.

Sayang sekali. Maaf tanganmu tidak terlihat. Bagian spesifik apa dari video tersebut (yaitu, @ jam berapa)?
You talk to much!
