Beautiful job. Can I also use stain instead of the oil? Is there any special procedure for using stain, I guess the merbau comes pre oil so is it okay to stain straight on it?

Yes, they are. Steel post 50 x 50 and rails screwed to the Steel post by Self derailing screw.
