Hey Matt, just watched a TED talk from 5 years ago titled “Why sitting down destroys you” and it spoke a lot about the things you preach here on this channel on why sitting down has ruined our natural squatting ability. Do you think it would be reasonable to live in a house without any chairs?

Well, it's what people traditionally do in Japan.

      Not really.
imo, it's not sitting that's bad, but rather a lack of squatting. The issue is due to a number of imbalances that can some from chronicle spending time in one position, or in a small ROM which actually extends to some forms of exercise. Many forms of cardio in particular can create a similar problematic situation since you're doing thousands of reps in a small repetitive motion.
So no, avoiding sitting in a chair isn't going to be the solution, but doing things to bring balance to the body, squats, bridges, hanging etc. will.

How well do you think this could work with suspension trainers, bands and isometric straps?

For sure. I actually took a bunch of footage of me using them on my NOSSK trainer, but it never made it into the edited version. That gives them even more versatility.

What do you think about training your grip by using gymnastics rings like parallettes?
