I have a small business and the toner cartridges last so, so, so much longer than ink. I got so tired of messing with the ink cartridges. Toners are a ton easier to refill on your own than ink also. So you ask yourself, "Why is she here at my video?" Well (eye roll) with all technology things get outdated and don't want to connect to a new PC. Liked my ink jet for high quality photos, especially shades of black, but it often had some lines on the page. But I only used it once a year and ink was $100 and would dry out by next year. That was crazy and I tossed it. Got a used Lazer printer and it's incredibly reliable. It's old but still works with every device. I like the idea of tank jets. When I bought my color laser, I thought about bought the Epsom, but after reading reviews about the head wiper failing and not being replaceable, I went with a higher end Brother color laser. Hi Faith, you are very welcome. I'm glad it helped! I have a bunch of printer recommendations in the description of the video with some features listed as well. Thanks again!
@faith brown inkjet printers have what they call a 'cleaning' process which uses ink to flush the print head so the ink doesn't dry. But if you think about that, you're not using the printer for months, the printer uses ink to stop the inks from drying i.e. inkjet printers slowly run out of ink even if you don't use it. So you if you're planning to use the printer as a paper weight until you need it once in a blue moon then get a laser printer, they last for years and you may not need to change toner like ever
@@faithbrown9316 That will depend on printer. HP printers use cartridge even in ink tank printers just the difference being that in ink tank printer the cartridge is connected to tanks using CISS tubes. But in Epson printer, the printhead is in the printer and won't get clogged. However the print head in Epson can wear out over few thousand prints and replacing them will be expensive
I used to have to buy a new printer every year or so because I hardly print things and inkjet printers clog after a few weeks of non-use. I bought a laser printer about 10 years ago and it still works great even though I only print a few times a year.
Now there are plenty A4 thermal printers on the market, and most of them are portable. They do include a battery, so you can use them without connecting them to the power. Now I am about to buy a thermal printer because the only consumable I want is the paper.
I have the Epson ET-8500 and I like it for art prints. But what I really dont like is the outcome of texts. It isnt sharp enough, it kinda looks like the ink spreads a lot. So I am thinking of getting a laser printer for the best results when printing text. Is that the right idea or is laser just the same?

I got myself a cheap laser printer for my small business and had been wondering whether I made a wrong choice. Because my family members have been using inkjet their whole lives and laser printer is weird to them, and they question the cost effectiveness of it. Thanks to you I got the answer I need. My laser printer is the best choice since I only use black and white to print coloring pages to sell. It's really hassle free and prints a ton of paper without problems. I just worry if the printer gonna overheat so I print in small batches to make it last
Thanks. Yes I have linked them in the description. The wireless ones will work with iPad or iphones via airprint once you get them on your home network.
I wasn't sure what kind of printer to buy for my new small home based mail-order business! And since I'm going to do alot of Black and white flyers I think I will go for a Lazer printer since they print more faster than a ink jet printer and the cost per print is cheaper!!! Thanks your video helped me decide!
Hello guys. I need some advices on which brand to buy. Its just for printing few b/w and colored documents and maybe some colored pics for my son. I was thinking of the brands like brother, epson, canon and hp. And maybe we could use some flatbed copier and fax. And some connectivity with wifi will be good too. Any suggestions based on my preference? Thanks. 😊

Great video! Thanks for all the information. I'm planning to get a Laser color printer. Do you know if the printer will use part of the color toners If I choose to print Black and White documents? I understand that it happens with some printers. Thanks a lot! :)
Great Video! Just a quick question, I saw Brother has a portable thermal printer PJ-883 and it can print up to paper size A4. Wanted to confirm if it would be possible to print shipping labels too? I want to purchase just 1 thermal printer that can print both A4 and A6 (shipping label size). And also wanted to save on not having to buy ink anymore.
Ok, I have a question 🙋🏻♀️ I’ve tried & tried connecting my Brother QL 1110NWB it worked fine when I purchased it and not long after I changed the print roll to the ones you recommended (I started with the roll in the purchase box) it worked for a while and as it got down to the end of the roll it stopped working or connecting to my Apple tablet. 🤯 It was so expensive that I don’t want to kick it to the curb. I’m just tired of printing my labels from my regular printer. S.O.S. My shipping ship in sinking 🥴
Hi it would depend on what kind of stickers you are making. None of these are really sticker printers, I would probably get something like this texaslabelprinters.com/products/label-printers/afinia-lt5c-color-white-label-printer/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwytOEBhD5ARIsANnRjVhlAX-8BaLOaq7zc9FhTAmNzUFQvpznl3l8aywSfaXW0rbJHHGQ_cwaAl1HEALw_wcB
Great video, thanks UA-cam algorithm 😂. What about third party toners? Which brand is more friendly in that matter? My inkjet HP is super annoying if I put a non hp cartridge
There are cheap, reliable plug-and-play wifi/Bluetooth USB dongles to create wireless connectivity to your existing model at the fraction of the cost of purchasing a more expensive one whose only difference is that one option. Most mobile phone have free, built in scanning apps which essentially converts image captures into documents. Even if missing, you can do screen captures of each page and use free online tools that merge them into a single document which can be edited, mailed or electronically faxed.
Question we are looking for a good price good lasting printer with toner and a scanner which one would you recommend? The use will be mainly for college and high school papers!! Thanks
I went for laser Brother HL-L2350DW and I'm wondering what paper do you use for this printer? I'm gonna be using so much paper for my studies and I found that ink paper is always cheaper, so the question is: is it ok to use ink paper for laser printers? Thank you for this amazing video❤
I was going to install the Brother Laser printer in a vehicle, the specs show to keep it stored under 104 degrees - do you think it getting hotter would destroy it? It would be air conditioned while being used just concerned about the heat while the car isn’t running

That's cool. But keep in mind that most thermal prints will fade over time. I don't know if they've made thermal papers that will last long
Can I use Ink tank printer to print Stickers/Labels for products ?
I have the Epson ET-8500 and I like it for art prints. But what I really dont like is the outcome of texts. It isnt sharp enough, it kinda looks like the ink spreads a lot. So I am thinking of getting a laser printer for the best results when printing text. Is that the right idea or is laser just the same?
For most people, a laser is the best option. Until ink jet, tank printers fix the clogging issue and they won't it's not an option.
i still have my canon inket for 10 years still working.didnt used it much just home use and purchased refilable ink from ebay.
Thx, alot of very good info, I think you covered the subject very well in the time spent. It was worth my time to view this video!
You are welcome. Thank you for the thoughtful comment and watching the whole long video 😊
so far loving my canon mega tank have printed 2400 pages + 8-10 8x11 photos still on factory ink .. also picked up more ink for later off of amazon for 10 bucks caint beat it
PLEASE... I NEED TO BUY A PRINTER FOR MY BUSINESS. I HAVE TO MAKE LABELS FOR ARTISAN SOAPS. I HAVE BOUGHT TWO PRINTERS ON AMAZON AND THEY DO NOT WORK FOR COLOR LABELS...PLEASE HELP
My 4630 office jet HP printer is off and will not come back on . 7 years old. Checked all electrical connections...all good
Any ideas why it turned off and stayed off while i was gone for Christmas for 4 days? Worked fine before I left. Thx
Is there a specific brother laser you can think of that can print two sided and an app to print straight from your phone?
Thanks doe the information
Im starting a samall business and i will need product labels. Would a photo printer be netter or a color laser jet printer?
THANKS for the very informative video. Very plain speaking to understand. Looking forward to more of your videos.
What would you recommenced a printer for school/super small business like printing my own colored stickers, making my own business card and one that isn’t too big? It would be so helpful if you can answer back! Thank you
I have the same question!! Ive been researching for weeks which would be best for my small business. Did you decide yet? Let me knowww
Hello I am looking for printer which help me to print on Transparent paper not a regular paper? I want black and white. Which printer works best?
There is no such thing as transparent paper i belive. Not for normal inkjet or Laserprinters from what i know.
I just worry if the printer gonna overheat so I print in small batches to make it last
Yeah you did good, they don't know what they are talking about 🤣
You should do a review of the Phomemo thermal printers brand. Varying sizes, wireless, portable.
This is great. Can you recommend a printer for iPhone and iPad only? I don’t have a computer and I print lot of shipping labels.
Thanks. Yes I have linked them in the description. The wireless ones will work with iPad or iphones via airprint once you get them on your home network.
One thing i didn't see mentioned was about UV Inkjet printers.
Which claims to use less ink than regular inkjet printers and offer instant cure times.
I wasn't sure what kind of printer to buy for my new small home based mail-order business! And since I'm going to do alot of Black and white flyers I think I will go for a Lazer printer since they print more faster than a ink jet printer and the cost per print is cheaper!!! Thanks your video helped me decide!
You are very welcome. You will love your new laser printer! 👍
Does brother printer (that you holding on) print colors?
Thanks. 😊
Hi can a laser printer print on thermal labels?
Why didnt you go into a4 portable thermal printers?
What are your thoughts on bixolon srp-770III
I bought both a color and B&W printer based 1st on toner cartridge replacement costs and then buyer ratings!
Which model did you get?
haha.. bro, you're like the printer king of UA-cam!
🖨️🤴 somebody had to do it. 🤣🤷♂️
@@thecollegepicker brother I really appreciate your content because of you i bought the Brother QL-1110NWB, i almost had bought the dyno 4xl
That dymo 4xl is a rip off. How do you like the brother?
@@thecollegepicker the brother is actually amazing, I use it for selling on a platform similar to amazon in the Netherlands, i print about 300 labels per month and every time i hear it printing i enjoy the sound because i know i will have a crisp professional looking label. Thank you again brother you should open a patereon you definitely deserve a few bucks from for your advice :)
@@khaledaziz6804 Glad you are liking it, thumbs up on videos are better than any patreon and its free! I appreciate the thought =)
Would black and white art do well with laser printers
If I want to print my own art, it's preferable an inkjet printer?
I am in search of a printer and was thinking of getting the 2350 but then i noticed there is another..
so i what is the difference between
HL-L2325DW and the HL-L2350DW?
I see the same wireless capability but they are both $100 difference
Thank you very much!
this is exactly the explaination that was in need for me .
You are welcome. Happy to help 😊
brother hll2395dw vs brother HL-2270DW, which do you think is better?
Great content. I really appreciate the pro/con approach you took to this.
You are very welcome 🙂
Great video! Fantastic. I had a quick question, will the instructions for the L2350 work with the L2370 which is what I have? Many thanks!
Thanks for explaining about printers appreciated
You are very welcome.
I have the brother he-l2305w how do you make a copy on this thing
Great video, man. Tip from a video editor. Remember to turn off your auto-focus after it focuses in the spot you'll be for most of your monologue.
Appreciate it man, 🙏🙏 tips always appreciated.
Appreciate this ❤ I left with a lot more knowledge than I came with 😂
Glad I could help!
Hi if you starting a Sticker business which printer is good and Which print paper to use?
Thanks
Does it need to be able to print color?
@@thecollegepicker if possible yes pretty much if everything in one !
I didn't quite catch the main question I have. Does the laser jet printer print color and black on 1 page?
Color Laser can print black and color yes.
I went for laser Brother HL-L2350DW and I'm wondering what paper do you use for this printer?
I'm gonna be using so much paper for my studies and I found that ink paper is always cheaper, so the question is: is it ok to use ink paper for laser printers? Thank you for this amazing video❤
Dog paper
Thank you great information!
You are welcome =)
I was going to install the Brother Laser printer in a vehicle, the specs show to keep it stored under 104 degrees - do you think it getting hotter would destroy it? It would be air conditioned while being used just concerned about the heat while the car isn’t running
It will damage any component for laser printer especially and its not portable. Like a dvd laser suddenly melted.
If need a colored laser printer that has scanner and fax. Which would you recommend.
Hi, we have a ton of recommendations in the description of the video, thanks for watcing.
Would these printers work for comics? I want to do my comics with in-house printing but I’m very stuck on which printer to use.
I'd say just draw them all, yourselve
Yes very helpful videos cheers! Reminded me I need to get ink.$
Get that ink! 🤣 Thanks for watching 🙏

Can you get away with printing a shipping label on regular printer/copy paper, cut it out and taping it to the parcel?
Yes that is fine ☺️
Thanks for educating us bro
Great analysis pros and cons well explained🙌
How about Portable Printer or Mobile Printer as HP OfficeJet 250 All-in-One Portable Printer ?
Thank you, I was seconds away from buying the wrong printer.
Oh good. Smart 🤓 to do your research.
Great video thank you , what causes ink leakage in ink tank printer?
You are welcome. It could be an issue with tubing, tank, tubing connections, or something else even.
Which printer would you recommend for a photo calendar business?
What kind of media are you printing on?
Thanks so much! Super helpful video, helped me understand better and cut some costs!

I have an hp printer that’s saying there’s a paper jam. But there’s no paper in it. I really don’t want to buy a new printer if I can fix it. Any tips?
Is it possible that there is paper jammed up where you cant see?
Miss my deskjet 540 used it for a very long time without issue other than printer connector not used in current computers.
There may be a parallel port to USB converter? I've always wondered if the older stuff can be modernized.
@@thecollegepicker dunno then you have a problem of drivers since that printer last worked on win98 or winxp.
Hi mate,
I hope you are well!
I while back, I bought a brother ql-700 for my eBay labels, but now I would like to sell it on as I have upgraded to a zebra gk420d.
However, on the ptouch editor software, it says it's licensed in my name.
How can I get rid of this as I don't want my name appearing when the person why buys it from me next uses the printer.
I hope this makes sense.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Well done, well explained
Thankyou very much just subbed bc you are detailed less fluff! 💜💛💜
You are very welcome. Glad you got some good value out of it 🙏 thanks for watching.

Hi. Could you give an update on how much you like your canon printer. I’m shopping for another printer now. It takes no time for my canon mx490 to run out of ink. The cartridges cost $20+
The canon is great! You'll love an inktank, canon or Epson. Such a great technology.
@@thecollegepicker Ok thank you so much for responding.
You are welcome.
Can you fill only one of the colors if the other two still have ink in them?
Yes
so, buy a laserjet printer. got it
So helpful. Thank you.
