What song is that.... Bring back the old one ;)
5:51 there is an error in the graphic where the 16 inch and 14 inch numbers should be swapped.
Thank you.. ❤❤
Hello , no logic pro test this time?
yes - i mis it as well @@ardierr.2525
Just a heads up. Your chart on surface temps is backwards. Should be 43 degrees on 14 inch and 35 degrees on 16 inch. You said it correctly but the chart is reversed.
And what’s more interesting, his results are quite different from my own test on 14’ m3 max. I highly doubt his results. (Unplugged and high performance mode)I tested on my 14 m3 max unit. Cinebench 2024 is around at 1580, event hits at 1605. And 71 seconds Xcode compilation. Overall performance shows Merely no noticeable performance between 16inch and 14inch, but at cost of noise and battery life.
@@kenny7210so is the 14” with Max as powerful as the 16”? I purchased the M3 Max with 64 gb of ram for AI. I plan on mostly using this for video but also have a lot of browser business apps. Also plan on using bots but was hoping to download my own personal llm. Any help is appreciated!
I am SOOOOO happy I bought the 16 MBP M3 Max. If I want things throttled or slowed down, that is what the MBAir 13/15 is for! Great review.
I wanted to buy the 14'' M3 Max but than I watched your performance comparison on the exact models with the M2 Max and well, now I watch this on my 16'' M3 Max and this thing totally blows my mind! Thank you so much for your reviews! :)
Hi , How is your battery life on average ?
@@NNox_ Hi sry for the late response. it is very good. when you run normal multi-tasking-productivity applications the battery will easily last the whole day or even longer. I haven't done a lot of heavy duty workloads on battery yet but so far it would last for multiple hours too. but I also try to use the battery in the least corroding way which means I try to never keep in plugged in for too long and always stay between 20-80% of charge.
Your review of the M3 Max's heat issues was really helpful.
I always enjoy and find great value in your content because you deliver sharp and timely insights.
I had a similar impression with your review of the M2 Mac's SSD, and once again, your video is really good this time too.
yup going with the 14 and cooling pad
Please do this test with Base 14-core M3 Max on Macbook Pro 14" - I think that is the sweet spot to reduce overheating and noise while maintaining portability.
Would love to see this
Exactly. I bet the machine is plenty powerful too.
And cheaper
Agreed! @MaxTechOfficial please do this!
Agreed. Pricing is wild in the EU as well but at least the binned max rounds out at a "nice" 3999€" lol
Honestly I don’t trust the max chips in the 14” body. Too much fan noise too much heat. 14” is suited for the pro chip
Thanks guys! I have been waiting this comparison. Would love to see comparison bw 14" Base M3 Max and 14" 16/40 M3 Max.
Yes! Not one review of the 14-core Max 14" :(
I agree! And as the above commenter said, I haven’t seen that coverage anywhere which makes no sense cuz boy are they all sold out at Best Buy and my local store!
I am very happy with my 16 inch M1 Pro and I bought it for exactly the reasons mentioned in this Video. I do not need to move it around a lot and I really like the extra screen real estate as well as the extended battery life of the 16 inch.
Thank you for doing the timeline performance comparison!
Always go for the 16 - i outlined the many reasons to do it in a video: the 16-inch MacBook Pro provides a larger display and more efficient cooling system, ideal for enhanced visual workspace and sustained high performance. Additionally, its longer battery life makes it better suited for extended use without frequent charging.
Even with M3Pro?
@@skafwadie No. The M3 Pro is less powerful so it should be fine in the 14"
I used the 16" M3 pro for the last week and found the size to be uncomfortably big (via subjective criteria). Now on a binned M3 Max 14". My work comp has been a 14" M1 Max with 64 GB and I work on one of the biggest repos out there without any thermal or perf issues.
@@skafwadieI haven’t tested heating issues yet on the m3 pro, but the issue is still 14” chassis vs 16”. not only are there other reasons why 16 is better, but just for the cooling aspect of it alone, it will be more capable than the 14.
@@yuriyfromamerica3558it’s true that if you go from a 14 to a 16, initially, it will feel too big (subjectively as you said), but you will be used to it in a matter of a few days.
14" should be better with 14c/30c chip. No point going for top chip only to get throttled down.
Can't wait for the 14/30c vs 14/40c test! I think the 14/40 is only fine for short bursts. Real Game Tests would be nice. Missed the Blender Render Test!
14" 11c 14c is better,
@@johnvan1756 It is not, I tested it (see my comparison)
I’ve got the point 14’’ 14c/30 it for 2 months now it works perfectly 💪🏾
And if you want mobility it’s perfect
In my case i have an imac 5k at home that’s why i went for a 14 inch
@@rubenduartepirescan you tell me how it handles heat and if the fans are often in action?
Great video! I’ve been waiting for that one! Thank you
Now we need the 14 inch max chip binned and unbinned one 😮
Muy buen análisis! En cada uno de sus videos revisan a detalle cada uno de los puntos importantes. Felicidades!
Thank you for tearing it down to show us the speakers, you sir have a loyal follower!
Always preferred larger laptops. Bigger screen, larger battery, and better cooling. Overall makes for a better experience for me personally. The extra weight and size feels like nothing to me. Plus the screen is big and I would want to experience that 16in MiniLED in it's full glory
A comparison between the top end m3pro vs the low end m3max on a 14“ would be nice. Battery life, thermal throttle plz
Would love to see this comparison as well!
Are the differences between the 14 and 16 M3 the same as the differences on the M1 and M2? I agree in that they are both great machines but I don't need an upgrade. I much prefer the 16 for the screen and just live with the lack of portability. Son has the 14 from work and that is really great for walking around.
I’d like to see a thermal/fan/noise test between a 16” M3 Max 14cpu/30GPU vs a 16” M3 Max 16cpu/40gpu. I’m hoping the 16” 14/30 runs quiet for complex audio production projects with Logic Pro. I’m looking for the fastest quiet MBP (with the least amount of GPU overkill 😊). A friend says he’s never heard the fan on his M1 Max used for audio production. I’m hoping the 16” 14/30 M3 Max can do the same, but with even more power. Thanks for your videos!
Now we need a 14" binned vs non binned test. Could the non-binned version run faster because it doesn't throttle as much ? edit: corrected binned
What about if you throttle deez nuts?
Wow this thread went downhill fast
@@Joe_Brig alas. I have been checkmated
I have a 14” m3 pro unbinned and saw notably ~15% higher multi core number on cinebench 2024 vs a review of a binned model I saw online. No overheating issues at all.
FYI the 16/40 is the binned version.
Binned = the better silicone, aka more cores.
You should test the package power throttling theory by super cooling the 14”. Get a large pan filled with ice and cover it with plastic. Set the 14” on that and let it get nice and cool. Then rerun the comparison and see if the 14” improves.
Dear @MaxTechOfficial, I appreciate your work, but I noticed a mix-up in the values on the graphs in a couple of your latest M3 videos, particularly in "surface temp over chip in cinebench..." and some of your previous videos. Please double-check. Thank you!
Hey max, could you make a video comparing the M3 Pro, the M2 pro and the M2 Max? I feel like the M3 Pro isn't talked about a lot since it's release
this. I'd love to see a test between 16 M1 max and 16 M3 pro in Xcode, etc., in terms of fan speed, temps, performance.
Same question, thanks!
I agree I’d love to see that especially with the super detailed tests these guys do
Thanks a lot for doing this test. It really helped me deciding which one to buy.
Another mess-up on your graphs. “Surface temp over chip in Cinebench 2024 Mulit-core” had the graphs swapped. It’s showing 35 degrees for the 14” and 43 for the 16”. Someone needs to slow down a bit and double check what they’re doing.
I think the surface temp over chip graph got the labels mixed up, 16” was running cooler
I think the M3 pro with upgraded unified memory is doing a much better job on the 14” chassis than the M3 max. Battery last longer and has less hiccups.. only a few seconds or a minute difference when performing heavy tasks.
Look at the GPU performance of both chips. Huge difference between M3 Pro and M3 Max
I agree also, the M3 Max is only suitable on the 16 inch chasis, not only that, but it seems like once again apple is capping the Max chip on the 14 inch to only draw 40W, (meanwhile the 16 can go up to 62W) even with that, the 14 inch machine still throttles and fans spinning full speed.
But then asking for a smooth 8K preview on a small laptop is a bit much to ask for, overall the base m3 pro chip really goes well with a 14 inch, and for someone who needs extra performance, might as well go for the 16 inch with m3 max
That's a bummer. Unfortunately, the 16 inch is a hard no for me. I tried it when the retina display was only available in the larger size and hated it. Honestly 14 is pushing it. I wish they'd made the 14 inch a little thicker to accommodate cooling required to take advantage of the additional power.
Who the heck complained about the song during the sound test? That song is OG. Great review as always!
Considering the 14 m3max is being thermal throttled, how much better is it than the 14 m3pro? Would it still be worth the $400 if you were going you end up upgrading the m3pro to 36gig ram?
Thanks for helping me decide which macbook to purchase. Just ordered the16inch M-3 Max. But only the base max with 1tb
As much as I love what Apple accomplished with the "Apple Silicon," yeah, no matter what, at least for now, we ended at the same point... more power -> more heat -> a better cooling system. Just think about gaming, Apple is starting to explore, but this is so much different to render because a normal gamer expects the same performance for hours of gaming, and yeah, that's the reason why we have big graphic cards, big pc cases and better cooling systems 😢😢 but it's incredible what a laptop can do these days
I think the cooling tech and battery tech need to improve
@@rohittkrr yeah for sure
Great work as usual! Let's get that 14" vs 16" MAX Gaming Thermal Shootout :)
Nice! Max can you make a video comparing the binned M3 Max against the none binned 16 inch?
Max Tech is so awesome! Their performance testing is extremely helpful and has saved me from big mistakes in placing my next MacBook Pro order. 16" fully loaded on order!
This is the very important question to be asked! tnx for the video.
Good thing most people will go for the M3 Pro instead of max, or at least not the top of the line $6k one. Would love to see the same test on M3 Pro machines, considering its thousands of $ less.
awesome review! Thanks for all the work that went into this video
Omg, I love these comparison videos!!!
Did you make sure to turn on high-power mode on both? Curious if that makes a difference.
I'd love to see a fully spec'ed out 14" M3 Max vs the base M3 Max Mac Studio when it comes out. The best of thermals vs power!
Oh nuts! I was hoping I could go 14” this year… looks like nope I I want the most performance!
Thanks again guys, you’re doing so great work 👍
I really hope to see a binned vs full M3 Max comparison soon 🙏
Buy 14'' then, this guy keeps changing his ideas and two weeks later on he will tell why he switched to 14''
@@cguldogan well, I certainly get your points, I think that to be fair to them, they are coming from a certain perspective of pro users, who need every ounce of performance. They said that if you don’t need all the performance and portability is your main focus, go with the 14 inch. But go with the 16 inch performance is your main deciding factor.
@@Epicgamer_Mac Keep in mind that this comparison has high power mode enabled. If the power mode is set to auto, fan noise and performance may be near identical. Also, synthetic benchmarks that max out CPU and GPU only matter if your workflow has similar loads. I would buy the one you like, test it for a week, and decide if you need the extra thermal headroom.
@@yuriyfromamerica3558 That’s true, good point about high power mode. I do think the extra battery and screen size of the 16” might be worth it for me, all things considered, but I know some people (my Dad for example) who really should be going 14” this year.
I ordered the 14" binned M3 Max and can't wait to get it. Apple wasn't really promoting the 16 core M3 Max in the 14" as it was buried as an upgrade option choosing the binned Max. A better comparison would have been the binned M3 Max on both the 14 and 16.
This guy pumped up the 14" when he felt a need to dump on the 15" MBA. Don't sweat it.
I had a 16" M1P and after almost a year, replaced it with 14". All of a sudden, my MBP became more portable. But, I do miss the larger screen real estate and speakers I loved while watching movies when I am away from home. So, like he says, if portability isn't important for you, go for 16"
I just bought a maxed out 14inch MBP M3 Max; and while this video is very concerning, I will stick with 14inch. I bring it to travel and when home, my desktop machine connected to 32 inch Display.
I used to have 16 inch intel MBP, but it's just too heavy and too big to travel. I then upgraded to 14inc M1 Max. I think i'll stick with 14inch. I edit 8k video Prores 4444 and they play smoothly. Canon R5 8K is notoriously hard to edit.
@@tinot5093 what are you made of? I mean, 2 extra inches and you drop down? If I can carry a 14, let me tell you now that I can carry a 16 without any inconvenience. Most backpack are made for 14,15,16,17. Don't understand where the portability comes from removing 2 inches, but in the process, you give away, larger screen, better battery, better speakers, and a superior cooling system, yes for those full 2 inch.
@@user-mr3ok2iw3lTry using a 16 inch laptop on an airplane in coach class seats or on a city transit system. It is incredibly awkward.
Will the 14/30 m3 max also overheat in the 14”?
I travel a lot via train, and a 14inch is just so much more comfortable to work with if you have limited environment space.
I’m still waiting for m3 16gb vs m3 pro 18gb. Thanks maxtech for all the good works.
Very good video, great tests. Despite the performance difference I think that the 14’’ is a very good value . In many tests it is close to the 16’’. You have great power combined with great portability. One thing i find odd though is the result at 11:12. Shouldn’t this work be done by the hardware encoders? If yes there shouldn’t be such difference.
Can you please test the top m3pro 12/18 cores and base m3max 14/30 cores on 14 inch display as well ?
It would be nice to know if this happens on these models too
Intel cpus in macs: *overheating*

can you please compare m3 max vs m3 max binned vs m3 pro vs m3 16gb(24gb)? would be good to see the difference in fan noise and temperature results along with battery life. Thanks
Hi Max, could you compare the M3 Pro and M3 Max in the same form factor? particularly interested in the impact in battery life.
Me too. I want to see the thermal performance differences between high end m3 pro vs base m3 max (14/30 cores) in the same 14 inch chassis. Once I get the confirmation, I will go ahead and order the damn laptop for I don’t have any computer right now.
I'd like the same comparison but for the 16 inch if it's possible
Thanks for this phenomenal test! One question though would be very helpfull in my case: Does the 14 inch perform the same in Logic as the 16 inch one? Thank you very much! Greetings, Bernd
Great video as usual thank you so much!
Quick question: is the cooling system on the 16" M3 Pro the exact same as in the 16" M3 Max? That would be super helpful thank you!
@MaxTechOfficial
After three weeks of using a new 14" 16/40 M3 Max, I must admit that this is the best notebook I have ever used, and your review is misleading. I have a direct comparison to 14" 14/30, and the thermal management is almost the same to each other.
In real life, all fans are off during the vast time of your work because the chip is so powerful that your work is done sooner than it hits its limit to start cooling.
Even while gaming the AA title or under heavy load, I've never got more than 5200rpms.
I would definitely recommend a smaller factor of 14" and 16/40 after my experience as a perfect choice for traveling.
The performance is stunning!
I feel like in a stress test I would expect the smaller one, to get hotter and throttle more, surely thats a "given" though?
Same reason desktops -> laptops. Be interesting to see a comparison with a real world task, rather than something designed to blow it up.
Personally I've always preferred the 14, just find it more flexible and... it is a fair bit cheaper - the bigger screen, fans etc aren't free, worth mentioning that those things come with a $$ attached to them.
It's also worth considering that the 14 with a cooling pad (which are very cheap), may be able to produce exactly the same performance as the 16.
👍Very informative, a huge thank you 👍 for this comparison using M3-max (top tier 16/40)! It follows the same pattern you identified for the M2-max (top-tier) 14" & 16" models. If you happen to have access to this laptop... I'd be very interested to see an addendum to add the ***14" M3-max (lower-tier 14/30)*** to the comparison to see if the lower CPU/GPU count would fit more neatly into the smaller thermal envelope and resolve the thermal 'bottleneck', as there is also a considerable cost difference between the 14" M3-max (14/30) and 16" M3-max (16/40). If the lower tier M3-max 14" 'fits' more neatly into it's smaller thermal envelope to enable it to fully utilise its CPU & GPU cores; then don't you think it would offer a very good value option for those who want portability (pehaps also use an external screen), don't need quite as much processing power but still need a computer for intensive tasks. 0.5kg difference in physical weight aside, the thing that I find heavier is the idea of carrying the larger 16" fully specified laptop about worth more than £4K in my bicycle pannier between meetings! 😧 Your review of the 16" M3-max (14/30) was really helpful in that respect.
The 16” is very portable .. ppl truly overdo it when they say it’s “too big” it’s super #thin even in the padded case I got for it, and it easily fits in my various backpacks
True
+
Depends on what your needs are with regards to portability. Carrying it in a backpack to/from work? Totally portable. Frequently needing to do work on a plane? Not so portable.
The problem isn't the 16" alone, the problem is people who carry multiple laptops. That's me. I have no problem with the MBP 16" as my solo driver, but for work we use a 17" inch ultralight, and to stay relevant in my spare time I carry around a 14" windows laptop (my work laptop has 16gb and can barely manage 2 VS instances + several chrome tabs). I would love to develop on a mac for work long term, so that's 3 laptops not including any other accessories. I travel for work weekly.
It’s heavy and much larger than the 14”. Those that use it on a plane or a local coffee shop will notice the huge difference. Even putting on your lap while in campus is harder with the 16” mbp. It’s great if it mostly to be home or taking it to commute to another desk..
Can you please compare the 12/18 core pro to the 14/18 core max? I haven’t seen anybody else comparing the two?
Could you make a flow chart or a quiz to help to decide which model to get? Great stuff anyhow!
Bro normally I like your tests. But these are like extremes. Just buy whichever fits your lifestyle. 16 in isn’t the most portable. And you shouldn’t decide your entire decision on a stress test. Unless you actually would ever stress test the machine. 95% off users will never need type of performance. Go in a store and go mess with them and see which size fits you better. Don’t make decision on a 5-10% difference that you will never encounter (battery life aside)
@@WorksOnMyComputer I completely disagree with you. I bought the m3 max 14in. I'm a software engineer, I do virtualization and have multiple ide's open at once, while pushing to external monitor, with other things going on in the background... And the computer isn't breaking a sweat. "getting your monies worth" for the 16 is maybe saving 20-40 seconds... and that's only if you are actually doing anything that would push it to its limits. Which once again 95% of users will not do. So don't waste the extra $300, unless you like the size of the 16. because you will not throttle it.
@@Origon09 I like your reply a lot! Since I’m not an engineer, and looking to waste money on the maxed out version M3 Max 14 inch (I want to game, and I just love buying the best for my feeling), could you please tell me, if I were to max out the performance (which I doubt is likely) to the point where it’s throttling, would putting a cooling pad underneath help it? Since in the video mentions it’s the “chassis” that’s overheating, and not the chip. I trust in your reply, since you’re an engineer who’s looking for portability like me.
Thank you!
@@shukailin8233 I don't think a thermal pad will help the situation. From what I've heard they don't work that well. But you should be fine. Depending on what game you are playing. Just kick the settings down a bit and I don't believe anything you play will overheat it. There is a couple videos of people playing Baldurs Gate 3 and Lies of P on these new M3 Macs and they don't seem like it overly taxes the system. Just do your research.
@@Origon09 Understood. Thanks for your reply man!
Quick Question: Do you guys think that the 16 inch can perform even better if they allow higher fan speeds than 3800-4400 RPM? Are there apps to allow this speed boost?
Good material. One thing, you're recommending 16" over 14", but you didn't mention about their price.
i’m wondering how much the gap in performance has changed between the 14 and 16 inch from the M1 max to the M3 max
I am typing this on m3 base model with 16GB ram and 14 inch. I have had this for almost a week and so far not a single time a fan has kicked in.
this thing is solid as a tank.
I am debating weather to keep this or upgrade to m3pro base model. so far this thing is literally incredible. just wow. it will be my laptop for next 5 years minimum.
battery life is amazing on 14inch for me. I love the portability. 16 inch is too big for me. (I upgraded from iPad m1)
In your case, I would jumped to the M3 Pro model. The price difference isn't that great and what you get in return is worth it.
Thanks for this comparison video :)
YES!!!!! Thank you for using a new song! So refreshing!
Need to test the BINNED 14 inch M3 Max to see if it matches that smaller cooler any better
Anybody else think you are going to have issues trying to get on a flight with that power bank? LOL
*Can you please do a TEST with the 14" Apple M3 Max chip with 14‑core CPU, 30‑core GPU - 36GB - 1TB. Thank you kindly.*
Now I am not going to get the m3 max maxed out for my 14 inch. Should I go with top end m3 pro or base m3 max with 14/30 core counts for my 14 inch? Aah but I will miss out on RAM 😢
Hey, in the graph of temps.. you have it inverted. I’d recommend you use the sky-blue color for better scores… I know… it could be time-consuming.
The 16 inch machine should also have a longer operational lifespan too, because li-ion batteries hate excessive heat and they hate deep-discharges. The bigger machine's better heat rejection should preserve your battery capacity for longer, and the bigger capacity to start with should mean less need to deep-discharge/recharge the battery pack, also contributing to a longer lifespan.
Would these results be any different if the laptops had been connected to power supply? I wonder if the 14 inch is throttling partly because its smaller battery is unable to provide sustained high power.
@MaxTechOfficial Hi there.... I love the wallpapers you are using. Where can I download these for my beloved MacBookj M2 Pro 16"...... I wonder if there would be any goodies for me as a off-line designer in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign and often (lite) work in Photoshop to switch from the M2 Pro 16" to the M3 Pro 16"? And do you think the M4 will be arround summer/authum 2024? or even M5 spring 2025?
I think you accidentally mixed up the temps on the screen… unless you referred to them incorrectly in the video? Thank you so much for the comparison!
Excellent video. Thank you!
I don’t know if there are any mistakes you made. I tested on my 14 m3 max unit. Cinebench 2024 is around at 1580, event hits at 1605. And 71 seconds Xcode compilation. Merely no noticeable performance between 16inch, but at cost of noise and battery life
Which config do you have? How was the fan noise been?
@@bladerealm124 when performing heavy duty load on high power mode, fan spins at 6500rpm。My unit is M3 max + 48 +1T
I see this completely the opposite way, where the 14 inch makes the most sense and you save 500 bucks for roughly the same performance.
It's only a $200 price difference if you spec it out the same way.
Would you guys compare the new Snapdragon X Elite chips to the new m3 chips. How will both these chips compare to the upcoming Intel and IBM chips and if everyone abandons the X86 what will happen to gaming.
Wish there was a Lightroom test and exporting on photos put on this test. Good job anyhow
Does the M3 Pro has the same issues? 14" or 16". Thank you!
Could you do a test with the m3 max and an intel i9 with a 6800xt egpu ? I’m looking to upgrade but would like to know how much of a difference it will actually be. I use my MacBook Pro for video edit in davinci and like to use heavy color correction/grading and smart caching
At 5:51 it seems like the chart is flipped. The 16'' should have the lower temperature.
I mean… It’s a laptop, portability absolutely should come to priority.
Still rocking a early 2011 15"
MacBook Pro and still hasn't died!
Thinking of upgrading to a M3 16"
MacBook Pro but not sure what to get but really want to future proof it. Should I get the Max 48 or 64 core
Get 128. Lol
Oh no! I'm a dev and just got notification my 14" M3 max with 128GB RAM 8TB storage shipped. I should return it immediately, right?
Kidding.. benchmarks not particularly real world for me. Went with the M3 max for extra memory, and 14" for portability. I have a 16" M2 Pro for work and it's great but a bit unwieldy for me unless it's on a stand plugged into an external monitor.
I'll be coding, bunch of IDEs, running containers and VMs for dev and pen testing. Extra RAM will be useful and hoping the M3 max will be good for short bursts without throttling. Can't see myself really pegging the CPU a whole lot.
You’re ok with the 14” size ? I’m dev too, and don’t know which size should be better.
@@cellocamara 14 has worked great for me.. but im considering going to the 16. trust me the 14 inch is amazing. I need to stop watching these videos
@@smokesmoke1576 I’m pretending to get the 14” m3 max with 36gb ram 1tb. I think this videos tells us that 16” is better but I don’t think it’s a big difference
since the 14 inch throttles would you be better of buying the 14 m3 max base model? 14 cpu 30 gpu instead of 16 and 40.
Im still getting the 14 inch 😅
I have a 16" M1 Pro MBP. Not upgrading this cycle. But, for portability I am truly thinking about adding an M2 MacBook Air to my collection. My 2nd choice would probably be a used 14" M2 Pro MBP. One thing is obvious from your video though--and I realized this from Day 1--the 16" M3 Max MBP is the ideal machine this year...if money is not an issue though.
16GB RAM & 512 GB SSD 15" MacBook Air here. It's pretty stellar. Nothing really stresses it. I exchanged it from my initial purchase of the 8GB/256GB 13" because squinting, some swap at lower ram, and the slow SSD was annoying. Lots of sales make the spec upgrade more reasonable ($250-300 off at Best Buy and Amazon).
@@MikeR33D I ordered the 13” with those same specs over the weekend.
@@arlencarlson Nice! Enjoy! It'll be a good machine for quite a while.
Besides the fact that you keep the two laptops close to one another while running these benchmarks, do you power through one after another or do you wait for the laptops to cool down before going to the next benchmark test?
I actually want to know this too 😳, since on theory it would for sure make a difference
How would the M3 airs go with no fans!? 😮 and the 14” M3 MacBook ( with the 1 fan)…. Have seen some demos but perhaps they aren’t experiencing it yet??
With hours of research, I’ve come to realize the 16 Inch is the most logical choice with the M3 Max chip. The assistants at the Apple Store were very adamant about pitching the M3 Max 14 inch to me. I even ordered the M3 Max 14 inch online and my payment was put on hold because I forgot to give my bank a heads up that I was going to be spending a lot more than usual that day. While I could have just returned the 14 inch if I didn’t like it; I’m grateful that I continued doing further research on these MacBook variations even after I ordered it because it’s possibly saved me a lot of time, money and energy. Even though I appreciate the size and feel of the 14 inch, I realized that not going with the 16 inch would be an atrocity considering the price I’m already paying and the performance I seek to achieve with this machine. I’d be playing myself! I’m used to experiencing a hot dry climate, so I can’t imagine having to possibly deal with annoying fan noise from the 14 inch over working itself, struggling to keep the MacBook cool and operating at a max capacity, which limits the boundaries in which the M3 Max chip was designed to perform. I will be getting the MacBook M3 Max 16 inch instead. Besides, I’m looking for a durable machine that can optimize my tech experience with plenty of screen space to not feel limited on the go. With a longer lasting battery and a cooler running system; I don’t mind dealing with the extra weight and space of the 16 inch. For me, that’s a sacrifice worth the confidence of optimum efficiency. My goal is to feel empowered enough to ditch my desktop should I feel obliged to do so and to have a machine that provides the freedom to explore other technological abilities should new endeavors spark my interest.
Best!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you!! Was waiting for this
I purchuased a 14 inch m3 max 16/40. Will i regret it? Is the m3 pro way better for the 14 inch?
How is your experience with the 14 inch?
Well looks like I’m getting the 16” one.
Running the 15.6” 2018 Intel MBP
Thank you it so clearly for decision for buy one.
Please help me, I am confused between Legion 9i and M3 Pro Max 36 GB 1TB varaint. I have no problem regarding the price, and both the OS are ok for me.
I use a few VM for ethical hacking apart from these I program and also do video edits.
Please recommend which one will be worth.
The PowerBank looks like a bomb and will get you in trouble at the airport 😂
I'm wondering if the m3 pro 12-core is also throttling. Or if 16" m3 pro with 12-core is a good choice.
Is the 16" model really bad dealing with portability ? Thank you.
it sure is.
Test and compare all in low power mode. The M3 Pro is the only model with 6 efficiency cores!
