  • A few months ago I splurged on a high end ergonomic office desk chair, the HÅG Capisco. Here is my review after using it for more than 8 weeks.

I watched a video about a chair which further proves that this gentleman can post anything and I will watch it. Not to mention he also has a fantastic blacksmith channel that finally convinced me to get into the hobby.

Incredibly helpful video and beyond refreshing there wasn't an affiliate link attached. This is the video that made me seal the deal on purchasing one.

Greetings from Finland, John! I’m loving your videos and the eclectic mix of subjects. It always feels like I’m sitting there in the room listening to you wax lyrical about the little things that matter. Keep up the good work!

It’s also good that it doesn’t have arm rests that can cause cubical tunnel problems.

This isn't the review I expected, but feels like the most honest I've seen. I really appreciate it.

Hi John, that's an interesting chair design. I have several different kinds of chairs in the house and the shop, when it's nappy time, it's nappy time. Even setting on a bucket leaning up against a post in the shop. If I have to set back to plan my next step to late. 😴
I hope you new chair is better to get more productive work done.
I like your Flintlocks up on the wall, nice tuch. 👍🔥⚒

I'm sure the designer out a lot of thought into the features you point out. Lots of folks have to do desk time these days.

I bought my Henry S Miller chair 16 years ago when I was sitting at a desk 10-12 hours a day. It would be nice to have the foot ring.

I really like my HÅG chair because I’m smaller and most ergo chair armrests are too far away from my arms/elbows, even if I adjust them. The backrest on this chair allows me to rest my elbows on it, which helps my posture (opens the chest, as opposed to shoulders slumping forward). I like the firm cushion and that I can put my feet on the little rest areas on the chair legs. But it’s not a chair for everybody - my husband greatly prefers his Herman Miller ergo chair.

I’ve had one for many years. Despite its length of time on the market they seem to refuse innovation of its design. It really needs a forward tilt (or better a full rocking mechanism) and a smaller bump on the front to make its “saddle mode” more comfortable.

John, if you ever run out of topics to cover, ( seems unlikely, but...) how about some stories about those flinters, horn and stuff on the wall.? Lots of folks are interested in that, I'm thinkin'.

My old ex-mil desk had screw legs on bottom +1 inch (25.4mm) but a 2 inch lift made it much better.
COULD be a scrap bin blacksmith idea? Scroll work & heel rest with brass pin rivet hi-lights, like a mountain man rifle stock. Totally tasteless but it is going under a desk never to be seen again...

I am really considering this chair because I find shoulder support on most chairs completely incompatible for me! I have a slight curved spine, but its a little twisted with some rib humping from a spinal fusion. Hell I sat on some Herman Millar chairs where everything felt pretty good, except the shoulder and neck area. Also if there is a return policy i might bite the bullet and try it out.

    • @JohnSwitzer
      @JohnSwitzer  2 роки тому +1

The return policy from the dealer I found made it easier to spend that kind of money. It certainly isn't for everyone, but it has helped my neck and back.

Hey John - my desk also has a pretty narrow opening. Do you find your legs are able to fit under your desk, even though the saddle seat opens your hips?

Hi John! I watched a couple of your videos and really like the way you are doing them. However to have a nice idea and a story behind to make videos even more enjoyable will be a great improvement. I subscribed and will be happy to see how your videos will get better after Casey Neistat Film School! Cheers!

You can. But it does encourage you to get up and move or change positions. So it isn't so comfortable that you relax too much and not work.
