  • Teenage Cady Heron was educated in Africa by her scientist parents. When her family moves to the suburbs of Illinois, Cady finally gets to experience public school and gets a quick primer on the cruel, tacit laws of popularity that divide her fellow students into tightly-knit cliques. She unwittingly finds herself in the good graces of an elite group of cool students dubbed "the Plastics," but Cady soon realizes how her shallow group of new friends earned this nickname.

3:19 she was speaking an African dialect because being raised in Africa with black people, she wrongly assumed they spoke the same language, as well as English and was trying to find a way to bond. We TOTALLY had jocks, nerds, drama people and band people that all grouped together.

Yeah. She assumed they were African like her. Those students were African Americans born and raised in America. They wouldn't know about African dialects. Many African Americans for OBVIOUS reasons are not familiar with African dialects.

This is just a fan interpretation. Regina says why she thought Janice was a lesbian, it was because she was being a “clingy” friend when regina got a new boyfriend. Just a random thought, but from what I've seen, in most high school films it's the Juniors and they "own the school", while the Seniors get ignored because Seniors don't have to worry about being at school next year and they're bigger than this petty stuff. I think those films are a bit sadder though and harder to write and so there's much less of them. But there's this thing the writers do to make the Juniors top dog while never showing the Seniors or just never bringing up the fact those Seniors will never return or will be yesterday's news.
Anyway, high school is a trip. I remember for a couple years, maybe 10 years after being out I was getting random high school dreams where I was new or it was the first day and I'd be lost in a GIANT school or couldn't find or open my locker OR I'd be on the bus for my THIRD attempt at graduating high school as a Senior, day one. Nightmares. Haha.

Edit pt1: guys I went to high school in India, moved in like 9th grade to a major private school full of like rich kids and let me tell you: this is pretty fkn accurate. The "Regina George" of my school was a TOTAL bitch and everyone wanted to either be with her or be her. And everyone knew everyone's business and everyone gossiped about everything. I heard things about me I didn't even know I did! I'd be there like "ooooh really I did that??? Tell me more"
Edit pt2: tell me why I knew Mair was going to let out THAT laugh when Cady goes to meet Janis and Damien in her Halloween fit 😂
Edit pt3: Mair of course no one is stealing purses like that in high school, it's literally to highlight how dumb Aaron Samuels can be and how dumb Cady feels she has to be to "get" him.
Edit pt4: y'all know the main difference between Regina and Janis? It's that you always knew where you stood with Janis, whereas that's not the case with our manipulative queen Regina. She would be nice to your face and stab you in the back. Janis will flip you off to your face and stab you in your chest. No ambiguity.

Just admit it: you two don’t like Janice. You two strike me as the prep and jock of your glorious time. I like Janice. She was real since the beginning. And she’s talented.

  • @AshLee92490

Good on bringing up how Janice is NOT the good guy. Most people side with Janice, but she was manipulative and used Caty frok the beginning. Most people cheer for Janice, but she was very wrong in her actions as well. Was she actually a good friend to Caty? Hell, she never even had the decency to pronounce Caty name correctly, purposely choosing to call a different name instead, even after Cath corrected her. Yes, Regina is the main antagonist and tends to do the most damage, especially on a grander scale than others, but Janice was an asshole as well. Janice was just the one who was "brave" enough to take out the main asshole, by manipulating a naive girl to do her dirty work. And yes, in the end, it's the realization that they're all means girls to some extent, but they can all be queens as well.

but thats kinda the whole plot of the story.. Janice is even aware of it when she gives her monologue after the party in the car. she admits that both her and regina are b*tches.. but that atleast they don't act like they aren't.. whereas Cady is trying to wear a mask as being 'the nice girl'.
Also, considering her history with Regina from their "sandbox" days back when they were friends.. do you realize how traumatising it must have been for Janice considering how off the handle she went in the bathroom in the beginning? she even left the school for a while.. I'm not excusing her behaviour b/c even she's aware of her bad behaviour. But i'd also argue the root of their "Meanness" comes from completely different places. Janice isn't being passive aggressive towards everyone to feed her ego like Regina does. Janice just needs some therapy to deal with the resulting short fuse she now has due to what Regina did to her as children..

@@HaraQuinn I understand the point of the movie. I'm speaking on how fans and audiences a lot of times miss it. The only reason Cady even got involved was because Janice wanted to use Csdy for HER revenge. Janice can't speak of Cady as if that's her real friend when she never respected Cady in the first place. l but people over. She used Cady and never bothered to apologize. Just because Janice's vindictiveness was only truly directed at Regina, while Regina was directed at everyone else, still makes Janice an asshole. They BOTH liked Cady because Cady was naive and moldable, and they BOTH used her for their own reasons. Neither one of them ever apologized. Cady did. But it's Janice that everyone cheers on in the story, so what does that make the audience that do? (Read: Movie Title)...
