- In this video I show you how to tuck the harness running under the fender in an S13. This process is fairly easy and a must for lowered S-Chassis with larger wheels and tires.
Thanks for watching!

this was 5 years ago?! i feel so god damn old
Nice video, i would probaly also add some antirust primer where you've cut just to be on the safe side
2021 and i’m watching this after rubbing through mine 🤣
Same 😂😂
@@KolturboMotorsportsanother year later… same here
This is the guide I'll be using. Liked and subbed
great video, very helpful. Thank You
Nice work!
this is a super must my car harness is so fucked my car was mis firing and never started again
couldnt have rewired it threw the hole already there?
Why don’t you just relocate the harness and fues boxes to under the dash it is easy and cleaner looking?
I need to know the name of the wire harness in lh fender on 2003 Toyota avalon xls after my wife had a blow out the tire ate away the wire need to replace it n broke the mud n flood guard
what are these wires for though? i have chewed through 2 & just want to know what they are cause nothing seems to be wrong
Mine still rubs nd I have it exactly like this
Where it it rubbing at? Directly above the wheel, or where the harness comes out from the car?
Why not just unplug the big blue plug the little black and blue one next to it and the one off ignition barrel, pull them all through and run it in the bay?
What they do in japan and Australia
Because this is the most common type of tuck that I have seen, and also a lot of people would rather have this than more wires running through their engine bay. Although yes, the tuck you describe would be better.
do you have to remove the bumper to remove the fender?
I don't believe it's necessary but it might be a little more of a hassle trying to remove the fender, with the bumper on. It's not hard to remove the bumper either, so really which ever way you want to do it will be fine. Hope that helps :)
***** alright thanks! gonna do this pretty soon. cant wait to see more episodes of le whip!
***** My driver's side harness pushes my fender out. Any advise?
I have the same exact problem! I just did this yesterday and its like that. I kept the factory hard plastic covering though. I may try removing that and flattening the harness a bit and re-tping it to get it to fit.
Anyone know how to sort this problem? I've done mine 10 minutes ago and it's pushing my guard out too 😭
Wrap it tighter
What happened at .28? There was a sound, and I saw movement on the right side.
I think my sister or brother was playing with something and made that sound.
So if the wires touch causing a short the fix is to get new fuses or did I jus create something new to fix cause now my windows won't roll down but my sun roof will and locks work it's only the windows that will not work now
You should start by checking your fuses then. Hopefully that's all that blew but you're going to have to diagnose on your own to figure that out. Hope that helps,
So im guessing removing the wire loom is a must. Because I attempted this last night and didn't remove the loom and my gender would not match up correctly what so ever.
Yea the loom makes the harness much thicker and it pushes on the fender causing issues.
Thank for the reply. Went back and removed the loom and it fit great lol.
Lol niiice
hey man so Ive got the rubbing situation but you could say its already to late to be saved lol hood latch wires and the majority of the harness wires are destroyed and everything from headlights to the dash lights not working? is this fixable? and if so how? can I buy a big harness like that or something? new to cars and new to wiring
+Tristan Tran You can just redo the section that were run through by either soldering or cimpring new wires to make up the distance of the wires that were ground through. Either that or you can buy a new harness all together and swap it which isn't too hard and actually might be easier.
+OffBeat Garage well yeah the tire has eatin up almost a quarter of the wires running through the fender and see exposed wires and coils.. so youd recommend a new harness? if so whered could i but that? really appreciate the quick response man really needed the help
Tristan Tran You can search on eBay and your local FB group for 240's and craigslist and junkyards. You should be able to find one within a few days. At least where I live you can lol. No problem, hope you get it sorted :)
+OffBeat Garage thanks so much dude, was freaking out for these past few hours wonderinf what I was gonna do, Ill look into it, thanks again man!
Tristan Tran No problem dude!
+OffBeat Garage Did you tuck the harness of your newer 240 this way or another way? Thx.
+Jeff Hirata New 240 HS a custom harness so no it is not tucked this way
+OffBeat Garage *has
DO NOT NOTCH YOUR UNIBODY PLEASE !!!1
rerejinglefish Tons of people do it like this and have no adverse effects from it and it's only a minor section of the seam. So considering people completely cut out their wheel wells in the engine bay for wheel clearance also with no adverse effects this is not a big deal.
i just wouldn't to tuck your wires like that. just because people do it like that doesn't make it okay ! There's better ways without cutting all im saying this is a poor solution to a simple problem
I know it doesn't make it okay. I'm just saying that it has no adverse effects and the proof is from tons of people doing it with no adverse effects. The other option for tucking would be to go through the engine bay but that's up to the preference of the owner if he wants an extra bundle of wires running through the engine bay or not. This is how you would tuck it if you are keeping it under the fender.
well mine is tucked and my car is not "notched " XD
Lol what is this witchcraft you speak of?
