I'm just a tester and I don't know what I'm gonna do with this channel in the future. Making these videos while also testing the mod was quite exhausting, especially since this was my first time making videos. I hope that the future of the mod and the channel won't disappoint.
There was a great disturbance in the force... it was as if a million voices cried out in ecstasy... and were suddenly trying to find a download link... I think something awesome has happened. ^_^

Imagine if someone took all this and somehow managed to put it into Unreal Engine 5. And it all functions work with improved graphics, framerate, performance etc. It would break the RTS community in hours, and Star Wars fans would freak out. Take it a step further, and add direct control over units, with ground to space combat. It would be the best Star Wars game of all time. Shame those big companies would never do something like that. It would shake the industry, though that's for sure. It would be the next level of gaming. They could sell it like Stellaris meets Battlefront or something like that. I know it would blow off the shelves though that's a certainly.

Very curious to see just what's been done to sort the ground combat, I know the camera has been rolled back, but that in of itself would not be enough to fix things imho.
Not that not fixing the ground combat would ruin the mod for me or anything, this game has always been about space since day one.
Big thanks to everyone who helped to test and all aspects of development, you are the reason why PC gaming is the best, big respect to you all!

Can't wait to mess around with all the clone wars stuff that's built into it like fighting droids or corrupt clones as the empire love to see if you can play as a pirate faction now and mybe have access to hondo onaka and maul or maybe even the bad batch if they won't be on the rebels side

well, the clones and droids are not in the base mod as playable units (haha yes clone wars sub-mod go brrr)
sadly ground heroes are kinda impractical for this mod because they just don't work well in that setting (luke might be able to slice through 20 storm troopers but i doubt he'll be able to do so against 200 and an AT-AT)

wow, getting my new PC in 10 days I hope, I get to play Remake with better Frames I hope.
The less cores it has the better it is for EAW, but mine has 16 and I still have somewhat decent performance, as you can see in the trailers I made. There are only some battles there it goes to 10fps.

It's all about that singal core poformance and make sure you get the most recent Steam patch it forces the game to use a whopping 4gb. Also if you go in to tasks manager when the game is running you can set it to use a spacific core (more helpful if you have an Intel cup)
I love these mods, but damn the engine is showing its age…. Hopefully one day we can get EaW moved over to a modern engine, so we can have all these wonderful mods without the stuttering and low framerates.

These mods are getting to a point now I am curious when Disney puts the hammer down.
Really good, though one critique:
Those AT-ATs are too quick in this Mod. Slowing their walking speed down really makes for them to be the terrifying juggernaut they are supposed to be.
That probably won't change because of how large most of the maps are, it would take way to long for them to get to the frontlines.
Slowing them down makes them literally useless, I love the AT-AT but never use it because why do that when I can spam Repulsor tanks and be done in 40 seconds.
Actually, on level ground the AT-AT can move fairly quickly, faster than shown in Empire. One of the reasons for it's slow movement in Empire probably because of Hoth being an icy and snowy hell or because of the defense by the Rebellion. I don't know why you'd want a ground transport literally slower than the troops it carries. I agree it looks much more imposing as it lumbers through the battlefield, but having it move more quickly makes the Empire more balanced for ground combat.
@@ConorChaos another reason for slowing down, other than terrain, is the fact there were troops on the ground. You never extend your armour past your infantry.

I'm just wondering if ground combat are going to get the same love and attention that space combat has gotten in this mod?
Its amazing how space-combat, that was kind of wonky-looking and dated in vanilla, has realistic physics and nearly modern-looking graphics in this mod.
If ground-combat was to receive the same treatment, I'm imagining an almost Company of Heroes-looking ground combat, with individual soldiers in the squads moving independently (while still remaining in their squads, if you've played Company of Heroes you'll know what I mean) , and polished, shiny-looking vehicles and weapons. And hopefully the Juggernaut and other vehicles with wheels/tracks, will get wheels that actually spin while driving..?
Too much to hope for? ^_^ Regardless, its an amazing mod that no doubt has had a lot of hard work put into it.
I'm an alpha tester. The focus for ground in 4.0 is to lay a solid foundation, visuals like spinning wheels have very low priority right now. Having independently moving soldiers while still being in a squad is probably not possible in EAW and the ground overhaul made by Kasderan (Remake dev that works on ground battles) was mainly inspired by Men of War Assault Squad, if I remember correctly.

That is the Torpedo Sphere, a siege weapon that deals massive damage, but has a long reload time.

Playable factions no, but non playable factions that go around the galaxy and take over planets are getting added.

Hi a question. When you play the empire how big do you start in this mod ? Already big or is it possible to start with 1 settlement ? Thx
The Empire starts with the most planets, around 10-15 or so, but they are surrounded on all fronts. And no there are no 1 or 3 planet starts anymore, each faction has a unique start now.
This is cool and all, and I'm glad we finally get to play with the Eclipse, but I'm not seeing a huge difference in graphics. If anything, it looks like they just threw a shader on it and maybe spruced up some of the sparkle effects.
Did they do anything with some of the mechanics? How about boarding parties so you can take possession of space stations rather than blow them up? Maybe make a fourth faction, like the Ssi'ruk from "Truce at Bakura?" Did they fix that one bug where stormtroopers would see Master Yoda and immediately run in terror?

Are clone troopers and the Clone wars ground vehicles unlocks by capturing certain planets? If so can’t wait to rebuild the grand army of the republic as the rebellion.

5:16 you can see the eclipse 2. which is a slightly smaller but better version of the eclipse 1
I'm not sure if that's a joke or not, but that ship is the Arc Hammer.
The Lancer, the Arc Hammer got re added and the Modular TaskForce Cruiser that every major faction has access to. The Empire didn't get a lot of new ships, because they already have a very solid unit roster and other factions are much more in need of new units.

At 2:20, I saw clone troopers!!! What does this mean!?!? Are they a planet specific resource like capturing certain planets lets you build old republic ships in space? Would capturing Kamino grant you the ability to train clone troopers?
In 4.0 clones are units used only by the Republic minor faction (not playable). They are planned to be buildable for major factions in a later version.

This is a mod for Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption. The 4.0 version of the mod is only available on the steamworkshop, because only the steam version of the game has the newest updates.

considering Petro wants to make a sequel maybe not. this will jsut prove fans want this
gj- maybe u r now smarter after 2years, maybe u look again at v2.35+ who was de facto best- only need rebuilds (GCs and little difenences between planets+ bugfixes) not castrate half of game and useless years in space... but i see things from ThrawnR remaked and de facto again useless+ ground what is integral half game and only good changer (maybe on/off ground button is better?). use brains and dont touch good things (this game isnt good bc is beatyfull but playable and 1st time has 2 interesting and different modes) u r like netfix- have good material but u know better and cut all- later notes 1/10 and 0 help... after v2.35+ u destroy all- v3+ r garbages- what isnt even EaW but variation- castration.
