I love the billboarding on the blade. Queen did put an etch on a lot of their blades so this is actually a nice call back to the old Queen. As to maker, it is only a guess but Cooper and Son are using the old Queen tooling to make their knives. It would be fitting to use them as an OEM.
Definitely a possibility RJ!
SMKW owns the Queen brand. Cooper sold it to help finance the machinery he bought from the Queen auction. These new USA Queens are probably made by Bear and Son, who made the first Queen knives for SMKW in order to secure the brand.
The red and brass liner/pin color combo looks great, pretty big knife though!
I can tell you it’s not Case because they didn’t do a horrible job. Thanks for the video, JB.
LOL...thanks ElCap!
The Trapper is my favorite design of traditional knives. I hope you're having a fantastic day, brother!
Thanks so much Bama! Have a good weekend!!
Yeah that red smooth bone dies have a nice look. Pretty cool. Thanks for sharing JB
Yes it is Tim!!
Traditional knafs get me to my childhood. This one is beautiful
Right on Daniel!
Nice looking slip joint from Queen, both blades and handle with enough girth to do some push cutting through tougher stuff. Thanks for the look JB.
Thanks for watching Sonny!
Great looking knife I love the red smooth bone thanks for sharing JB
You know I dig the red bone!
@@BigRedEDC Yes I am sure of that
Awesome traditional knife
Yes it is Kevin!
Good review JB , thanks for sharing YAH bless brother !
Happy Friday Michael!
That's bone? Looks like wood...neat that the bone takes the dye so well! Definitely a handsome knife and that tin is neat for sure! The jumbo would be the one I think I would go for...cool with the spade two-sum! Thanks so much for sharing this one Mr.JB! Hope you and Mrs.Nellie have an amazing weekend full of blessings! Cheers, Kimmers and Jerbs #BEUP #DSKFS #neverquitquitting #22ADay #22ADaynomore 👍🏻🇺🇸🔥🔪🔥🇨🇦👍🏻
Yes sir....smooth bone! Thanks so much my friend! Have a good weekend as well!!
Yeah, man that red bone looks really nice!
Thanks brother!
That is a beauty! I would pick one up if I found one.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Right on radar!
Those are some beautiful scales! I can picture someone reviewing this knife 40 years from now and loving the billboarding on this beast. Thanks for sharing JB.
I think that could happen Ken!
You’re really speaking my language with this one, buddy. What a great looking knife! I’d hunt with that one any day👍Thanks for the look at it, I think I’m gonna pick one of these up!
Glad to hear it David!
That's a good looking traditional with a locking blade. Really cool. I'm going to be on vacation for the entire month of December, so I won't be watching & commenting until next year. I hope that you and your family have a merry Christmas & a blessed new year. Thanks for all that you do brother. Take care.
Enjoy your time off Shamus! Hope you have a very Merry Christmas and happy New Year as well!
A great looking knife! I'm also glad to hear American made. Great video brother 👍
Thanks Jeremy! Have a good weekend!
That tin the knife came in is cool reminds me of something I'd keep my weed in if I still did that kind of thing 😆 great video man 👍
LOL....too funny David!
I see what you meant now. Vey nice JB
Yeah...there are some similarities!
Looks very nice
Thanks so much Mike!
It does look nice. I don't mind that billboarding because it's done well, like the old USA Queen knives. I have nothing but love for 1095 steel even though it does require more care.
Right on WIlliam! Thanks so much!
Oh yeah baby that’s a beauty!
I’ve got the burnt bone jumbo and I love it!
Good stuff as always, JB👊🏻
Awesome Tim!
I got the Stag Jumbo and I like it alot! The stag is thick and fits in the hand well and looks darn good! Thank you JB for sharing it!
Glad to hear it David!!
I got the stag version. Was pretty excited for these before they came out. Wasn’t disappointed but it didn’t wow me either . Looking forward to trying one of the other patterns when they come out.
Right on my friend!
I like the size of this one. Thank you for the video JB.
Thanks for watching Mat!
Nice big trapper, just don't know if I would like the lock like that. Could have shortened it to not be so abtrusive. Thanks for sharing BigRed be safe.
Thanks for watching James!
Nice mystery blade 😊thanks for sharing
Thanks CK!!
I have a standard size one (if you want to borrow for a comparison I'm happy to ship it). Small fit and finish QC issues and I had to clean a ton of dye and polishing compound out of the blade well, but it feels solid!
Awesome...thank you very much!
Taylor Brands, LLC owns Queen Cutlery and several other brands. That's a wide # of resources from which to choose. Thumbs up on this one. Like!
Yes it is Shane!
The liner lock killed it for me. Other than that it looks amazing.
I kinda prefer it without as well! Thanks so much Rusty!
Huge traditional there, JB! Nice red bone, and always good to see American-made. Curious about the manufacturer too.
Thanks so much for watching Dave!
Very cool slip joint!
Pretty decent overall! Thanks Rory!
It'd be nice to know who make JWK's, too, but I don't think we're gonna get that info any time soon, either 😁
That's a big fella alright, and sweet looking to boot! Cool stuff, glad that SMKW resurrected them! Cheers JB! 😎👍
Whoever makes JWK needs to take credit for that work!!
Ver nice! I wanted to check out the new USA Queen as well so I got the genuine stag regular trapper. I wasn’t happy with it at all. It had a loose blade, big gap in the spring, blades were way off center. I sent it back and to smkw credit they replaced it, the second was much better. Blades were centered, no loose blades or gaps, the only thing was the blades weren’t very sharp. But it’s pretty well made.
Glad to hear the second one was a much better sample!
Look at that blade 😍
Yes sir!
Very interesting blade! I'm slowly getting into the traditional knives. Not that I need another place to spend money lol.
LOL....just another rabbit hole!!!
Nice red bone on that one. That knife is a big boy, it would be nice to see it compared to the regular size trapper. Thanks JB. 👍🔪
That is in the works!
@@BigRedEDC very cool. I will be looking forward to it JB.
thats a gorgeous knife...take care
Thank so much for checking it out!
Beautiful blade - personally do away w the lock n boom solid
Right on Chad Thanks so much!
Looking at the catalog, I thought Bear and Sons. Watching the video, I am not sure. It actually looks like Rosecraft but of course it can’t be.
I see some similarities with Bear and Son....especially the shield!
Thats a big boy for sure!! I think it is Bear and Son. They also make exclusives for SMKW who now owns queen. The fit and finish does seem better than your typical bear tho. Maybe they just upped there game and charge alittle more. ive thought about getting the standard trapper by them, but my trapper budget is usually under $50. I may get one because it is 1095 Carbon steel. That bone is incredible. Thanks for sharing JB!!
That's who I think it is but I could be wrong! Thanks brother!
@@BigRedEDC Its is a big mystery! And they will probably keep it that way for awhile im sure. Good to have another american brand being made in the states!! Though i did also like the quality of the made in China queens!! But i have plenty of them!
When I hear secret US manufacturer I think overseas. Lol knife is nice, whoever made it.
I hear you there but I'm thinking that's not the situation here! I hope!
That's a pretty sweet knife, despite the issues. Any idea who makes it? Excellent video JB!!!
Not for sure!!
Very traditional. Enjoy but don't trap yourself.
LOL...thanks for watching Jay!
Dang it , took UA-cam two days to pop up this video even though I’m a subscriber !
UA-cam is screwy sometimes!
This is my style ❤❤
Awesome Jim!
I just got a Queen City Big Boy Burnt Bone trapper and it has no country of manufacture on it but I love the size and look of my knife, which I think looks even better than this red bone version.
Right on! Thanks for watching!
Nice
Thanks Jeff!
@@BigRedEDC you’re welcome
It's a beauty. Very nice work overall. But I'll mildly disagree with you about it being a pocket dropper. At that size I'm thinking belt carry.
Will work that way a well Grom!
How does the liner lock affect your grip ?
Does protrude a bit
SWEEEEETTTTTT
Thanks Greg!!
These are not made by Cooper. Cooper sold the Queen brand to SMKW. I believe these are made by Bear and Son.
I heard the Bear and Son rumor as well
grampaesque knife
For sure Tee!
I wish I could afford more knives-
I think that's a common issue Kathleen...lol!
Killer Queen
Yes indeed!
billboard ! 😐
Throw back to the older queen knives
SORRY, BUT THIS IS IN NO WAY MADE BY GEC!!!!! DON'T BUY THIS KNIFE THINKING IT'S MADE BY GREAT EASTERN CUTLERY, IT'S NOT! I have a few GEC#23 (large trapper) they don't pin there knives like that, not to mention it would cost more if it was made by GEC. I also have one of the new S&M mountain man (large trapper) made by Cooper, it was 200.00, I don't think that they would be selling a knife under half that cost.... I am glad they are no longer making Queen branded knives in china.
I don't believe they are made by GEC! Threw it up as a US manufacturing option. I believe they are made by Bear and Son but that's just a guess at this point.
Thanks Greg!!
I’m a fan! Sign me up! 👊🏻💯👍🏻
