At the Gates was a huge influence to me when I first picked up an ax back in the 90's. I remember hearing them for the first time and being blown away with that violin intro melting into those guitars from The Swarm. Good to see they are still evolving in sound.
@Dawn Razor you are not even making any sense. Have you even listened to from 4:11 on? That is straight up progressive rock. This album is most certainly not generic. i have been a fan since t.r.i.t.s.i.o. released. i love everything they have done. gardens of grief was a kickass ep groteque was badass too. this is far and away the most progressive and experimental they have ever been. i have a couple longtime a.t.g. fan friends that dont like this album, then again neither likes prog to begin with.

By far the best ATG since Slaughter. I can count on one hand the number of death metal bands that can evolve their music while retaining their original sound and style ... astounding album
LOVE when this legendary band tweak their sound. It’s what I loved about songs like “Death And The Labyrinth.” What an epic jam! 🤘🏽 Long Live The Mighty At The Gates!
Costin Chioreanu doing the artworks for At the Gates albums is always killer. And that intro is a different twist. Tomas' vocals comes in like it is a continuation of The Mirror Black. So as this song has some feel like Order From Chaos, The Night Eternal, The Chasm, etc but given with a schizophrenic twist. It feels like Franz Liszt rendered his Dante Symphony but there is electricity already and you are given less than 7 minutes. Man, the expectation on this album gets higher and higher.
This should shut up the idiots who say At the Gates is just trying to recreate Slaughter of the Soul. What a compelling track. I'm crazy excited for this album. Reminds me of Enslaved in some parts, and that is NEVER a bad thing.
Me outside: i'm loving this! Sounds refreshing, melodic and very musical. Me inside: ok can you please start drumming like always, i never said i was tired of it.
Finally something more experimental than the SOTS sound their two previous albums had. This reminds me more of their first three records which also were far more experimental and complex than SOTS.
Liking this direction - more experimental/thoughtful, yet still keeping a keen dark edge. SOTS is still my favourite - but this branching out from ATG will have its rewards.
With Dark Tranquility would be nice, the last good In Flames album was Clayman in 2000. Reroute To Remain in 2002 was mediocre and barely listenable, albums afterwards are awful.
Me hearing this after my morning cup of coffee thinking oh man I'm gonna write a masterpiece like this right now..... twenty minutes later and barely one note written, oh fuck I hit a wall I'm done.
Thomas singing it is very monotonous and in contrast to the rich variety of the other instruments. All musicians change the dynamics but vocalist is always at one point. Faster, slower, more and less but Thomas is frozen,100% "ARGH" for everything
I hope that At The Gates get a lot of recognition for their new album. I feel like if they don't, it will be a down hill slide from here, because they have clearly put everything into this album, and no matter what anyone says, there is no artist that can continue to put great effort into their craft, for very little reward. They might continue working at their craft, but eventually, it will result in diminished effort. But, who could blame them? This 'do the art because you love the art, not to gain anything.' Is simply a ridiculous idea. Of course artists love the art, but it's also a lot of work and effort to produce something, and it gets tiring after a while if there is no payoff.
i think once shows and festivals are back in our calendars on a regular basis they will be seen everywhere with this new record. Can´t wait for that to happen.
I never really got into at the gates (not sure why, probably cause i skipped their music in my twenties ) but i like this one. Can't help but think about dark tranquillity at times.
最高にかっこいいです😊また日本に来てくれる事を待っています🤗

I think those in The Swarm are the very best seconds of melodic death metal ever :)
@@BalashToth Definitely! I was in progressive metal band. After we heard that album we became a melodic death metal band.
TERMINAL SPIRIT DISEASE!!!!! 🦠
I can sign it exactly like that. along with the first two in flames albums. Nothing has influenced me more on the guitar
I remember them saying they were going a bit more progressive/experimental with this album, and now we're finally hearing it. This rules.
im sorry if you dont hear the prog sound in this song, you might want to get your ears checked. there is nothing generic about this song.
@Dawn Razor lmao.. generic??? You should get checked out bud.
Perhaps, the only generic here is your bad hearing my friend.

This is so good. Possibly my favorite song they've ever written. So different than their normal sound and really ambitious.
All the singles for this new album are masterpieces.

Long Live The Mighty At The Gates!
New Carcass, Paradise Lost & ATG today! A great Friday night! 🤘
Also Carnifex, Fear Factory and BFMV
Y Helloween...
And new Darkthrone album next week
White Stones
And Pestilence
Best new single so far, classic ATG vibes, with some interesting experimentations. Can't wait to hear the whole album!
Sounds like a Prog Old At The Gates! Really good.
The Enslaved of Melodic Death Metal
@@Joshbfil0 Enslaved are the Opeth of black metal though 😂

Costin's art is fucking amazing. Rare that the art fits 100% with the mood and feel of the music. Can't wait to get this album!
Them Opeth vibes are soo good. Best new single so far.
Get the fuck outta here with your "Opeth vibes" 🤣🤣 they're fuckin' nothing like that shell of a band.
@@hallowedend1 Nahh, I'd rather stay.
@@wowla1 do what thou wilt but Opeth fucking blows now
Nevertheless good video.
Opeth vibes?? 🤷🤦🤦🤦
Always good news waking up to some new At The Gates
Tompa delivers with that raspy gritty voice yet again.
Man, "slaughter of the soul" disc, loop- pinned up on wall, back in the day - played so much..nice evolution from the Swedish Masters.
I think this is my favorite track since the reunion.
I hope there are more songs like this in the album. This is a proper progressive metal!
Watching the video clip for Cold on MTV headbangers is what brought me into metal, ATG will always have a very special place in my heart!
At the gates.... Keine Fragen, keine Worte.... Mehr als eine Band🇦🇹🙋♀️☠️
This should shut up the idiots who say At the Gates is just trying to recreate Slaughter of the Soul. What a compelling track. I'm crazy excited for this album.

Wow! ATG going prog’? Hey why not? Now I’m more and more anxious to hear the new LP! 🤘
whoo man this is definitely my favorite single they have released so far. so much prog sounding near the end, love to hear it!
Finally something more experimental than the SOTS sound their two previous albums had. This reminds me more of their first three records which also were far more experimental and complex than SOTS.
Well, the previous album was pretty much this direction already, with faster drums
Liking this direction - more experimental/thoughtful, yet still keeping a keen dark edge. SOTS is still my favourite - but this branching out from ATG will have its rewards.
4:09 that part is sick af! And the solo that comes later is astounding...
New Pain, new At The Gates, new Hypocrisy, new Mayhem... I feel like my body can't handle so much hype

New Carcass

Приятно удивлён новым релизом команды. Очень атмосферно и эпично. С первой до последней ноты сюжет захватывает и не оставляет равнодушным. Супер!
Brings back memories from the TSD album. Though I still miss the Svensson riffs. That would have been epic!
Indeed, I was actually going to pull up TSD when I saw this.
This reminds me of At The Gates when Alf was playing guitar
EXACTLY
Used to love this band on the strength of slaughter of the soul album , to me it's the best material they have ever done
I love the part startin 4:12, bass sounds so nice.
Kinda jazzy!
This is my early candidate for song of the fucking year
Love Costin art and ATG music...A perfect match!!!!
This band never disappoints.
Niklas Sundin do Great Art For This Video Is Masterpiece!!!
Epic. Prog. Death. ATG. Great song!
Yeah dude!! This track is a true experimental masterpiece, thanks *At The Gates* for an awesome song🤘💀🖤
ATG will never disappoint. Top band in my top five. Great music
This made me misty eyed. Thanks so much ATG.
At the Gates are Awesome. Great band. Can't wait for new CD to come out.
This album is shaping up to be their best since 1993.
Greatest Band To Ever Grace Us With Their Presence!!!!! 🤘😈🤘
Thanks for doing something new and still being you.
Sound awesome! 👍
Oooosh.... all the feels!
as always divine
This is amazing, I already pre-ordered the album but now I want to see this one live! Great animation as well!
Fun Fact : There is an AFL footy player who plays for the Brisbane Lions who shares your name. Look him up. 🤘
@@SuperRoo_22 haha that's cool, cheers 🍻
the entire album is out next month, no worries... I'll wait!! \m/
This is sick. Very proggy in a very good way.
amazing song!!!
I love these guys music. Imagine them doing a song with In Flames and Dark Tranquility something a bit oldschool.
Might have been good 15-20 years ago, In Flames haven't released anything worth listening to in a long time.
With Dark Tranquility would be nice, the last good In Flames album was Clayman in 2000. Reroute To Remain in 2002 was mediocre and barely listenable, albums afterwards are awful.
I like In Flames up until 2011
With DT will be Awesome🤘💯
@Arised Better than the last several ones, but still barely listenable.
Amazing. Progressive Vibes. I love the First and Second Album
YES! Another New ATG Track for the liking! HEAVY AF! Can’t wait for the new album to drop! 💯🤘🏻
Incredible! Thank you for your music ATG \m/

Any update on your track?
@MrNecryptic I uploaded a couple to my page but I'm pretty scatterbrainz
just love them!
This record will be some next level stuff.
Jag älskar att man hör Jonas Björler så tydligt i slutet. Det hör man väldigt sällan.
Una obra de arte!!!
Album definitely will be in my favorites of the year, so far so fuckin good !
Hell yea ATG keeping it fresh

Dream theatre of death metal
Siento que su voz ya no tiene la fuerza de antes, pero la música es excelente, bastante progresiva al menos en este tema.
That was great!
I Love it!

I can dig it. Far cry from Suicide Nation, but one has to discover new sounds as well.
