Honestly they should just be labeled infected and thrown in with 28 days RAGE virus and other similar mutation outbreaks. Theyre not living dead like vampires and zombies. They have mostly just basic instincts unlike vampires except for a rare few. They still have bodily functions and can die to just regular body trauma. Unlike RAGE virus they still have other survival instincts and can still eat plants to survive if meat isn't available.
Fun fact: The game originally had a whole repuation system and choices. The main ones were with Boozer, where the choices you'd make would affect your reputation with him and it would lead to a compeletely different ending for Boozer. On PC, you can open up the debug menu and even see these option and some triggers for voicelines and such that show how this whole aspect was completely cut from the game. But it's clear this was done at a very late stage, because the lack of this reputation system and choices really hurts the pacing of the missions and that you have to do them in order.

This game was so good. The gameplay sometimes gets repetitive but the story was super engrossing. It does an amazing job of showing that every character is very complicated and has good and bad aspects to them. I also loved how they did a lot of explanation behind the science of the freakers, it makes it more believable
absolutely!! The story really shines with all the detailed characters and I love the zombie science stuff. They at least explained a whole lot instead of just "yeah there are zombies lmao, deal with it"

I've never played a game with such bizarrely realistic dialogue. The characters don't talk like they're reading from a movie script it sounds like natural conversation where people say uh and um and they stumble over their words sometimes and interrupt each other. It really goes so far into creating this believable immersive world with characters having lived in it for awhile before your journey begins.
@@GrimViridian I noticed that the dialogue is incredible and believable in some parts (e.g Iron Mike funeral) and then god awful and stupid in other parts (e.g Wedding). Its weird how much it fluctuates, guess the writers were just not having a good day when the dialogue is bad in some scenes lmfao
@@GrimViridian I know I'm a couple of months late but I'm always sad when people use that scene as an example of poor dialogue as in context she's saying it sarcastically to make fun of that stereotype, earlier in the game there's a scene where she makes him promise not to say ''I'll ride you as much as I ride my bike'', only to then say it herself as a joke. Hope you play it because it's the best zombie game out there imo.
Same i started playing on steam a few days ago at like 20 hours so far and only ran into one minor glitch. I dropped the gas can and it went flying 🤣🤣🤣
My experience was that I was bumping into whole sorts of glitches on the first 10 hours but then it calmed down afterwards, rarely bumped into a bug from there on.
When I first played Days Gone, I tried it on Survival difficulty and through it was the way it was suppose to be played, with some tweaks, it could be the State of Decay for Sony
Beat the game on hard in 75 mins. Full 100% completion. I was strapped up in a diaper anticipating a longer game and had most of the menu of Arby’s around My bed and feet as this is how you game. But still a Great challenge. 10 out of 10.
Okay, I played it over the course of three weekends on release and haven’t been able to play it since. What are the pacing issues? It seemed fine to me at the time.
This. The gameplay, setting and music is 11/10. Literally among the best I've ever played. But then the story and characters are bland, and the pacing is whack. Iron Mike being an eternal idiot, Skizzo being the most obvious traitor ever before the fakeout that he was actually cool before him actually being a traitor again (twice), Deacon not recognising that his wife has turned into a selfish controlling twat and neglecting poor Rikki, Boozer literally never mattering to the story despite him being the only one besides Rikki that had any chemistry with Deacon (including his wife LOL), there were too many flaws that were just too frustrating to make it a true gem. Imagine if they'd have written something actually humanly relatable ala The Last of Us and made Deacon turn from Sarah upon seeing her dedication to those nutjob militia after all the shit he went through to find her, or making idiot pacifist Iron Mike turn from those ways and splattering Skizzo's brains after he got Deacon tortured and nearly killed. What this game had in gameplay (realism and immersion), it ironically lacked in its story to bizarre levels. With a few subtle changes, this game could have been GOTY 2019. Once again, Sony's interference ruined a great thing.

I LOVE how Kev is compelled to immediately shoot any explosive he sees, despite him also disregarding his own safety every time. Just: >Sees a red barrel or something >Bang! >Blows himself up EVERY. TIME.
The zombie hordes were fantastic, you either had to plan a route to train zombies and trap them and blow them up, or just be fast enough to outrun them and keep shooting them. It was a good experience
Lmao the PC version must perform very differently. Sure I had a visual glitch or 2 while playing on PS5 but damn you seem to have had so many! This is one of those games I also went blind into and now when I hear people say they gave up at the beginning im actually sad they didnt continue on through the story. It was had such a heart-wrenching story at certain moments that stuck with me for some time after. Also Boozeman literally became my favorite character by the end
Because most of the people who shit on it genuinely didn't play it and never will. I literally saw someone write an article to complain about the game a while back where they admitted they hadn't played much of it and they were whining that Deacon was unnecessarily merciful. Specifically at the point where you mercy killed the woman that got tied up and left for the freakers. They said it was unnecessary and all of his mercy killings made him violent and psychotic. The alternative to his mercy was a much worse fate, so I don't get the point they were trying to make. It still makes me livid that we won't see a sequel because of people like this that didn't even play the game. If you don't like it, good for you, that doesn't mean going out of your way to shut it down for those that did enjoy it. It was a great game and the pacing is fine if you didn't try to bum rush through the whole game just to finish it.

Imagine being a somewhat famous gun-for-hire during the apocalypse, you did a lot of jobs for different settlements and were living a bigger life than just surviving, just to die from your bike tripping over a gate.

EX - Iron Mike = Herschel -- Both give the protagonist shelter when one of his people (Carl/Boozer) gets hurt. -- Both have a huge zombie horde that's a danger to all and is the explanation to why the zombies keep coming. -- The Colonel = The Governor
My dad hated Zombie games in general. Never really saw the appeal till he saw the trailer for this game on TV. He rented the game from Family Video and he genuinely loved it. But I think it was the idea of being a biker guy in a zombie apocalypse was his selling point. And this is coming from a guy, my dad, who hates zombie apocalypse games. He just wish they made a sequel to it.

Had a fun time when i got it day 1 only bad thing that happend was when I'd get clothslined by the tripwires every time going really fast I'd always die from collision instead of just getting knocked down.
I have beaten Days gone on Console and PC to 100%...and i have NEVER witnessed these bugs that you experienced, especially the corpse launching and those trying to act like the Predator jumping from tree to tree.
This was the LAST game my father and I played together before he died. We beat it and... I genuinely wish we played something better before he went haha it was fun making fun of boozer together.
This game is a good cross between The Walking Dead and Sons of Anarchy. Some of the missions were really lame but fighting the hordes was one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had.

I really love days gone. I'm not denying that it had a rough launch but I give bend studio props for jumping on it quickly and getting bugs fixed and all that and now the game is much much better. I wish more people would actually give it a fair chance now that it's all patched up. I've enjoyed seeing the UA-cam videos of people who gave it a really harsh review (even though they didn't play it long) but came back to it a year or do later and highly enjoyed it. It's good to see them admit they reviewed it harshy, didn't give it a fair shot and then give a review since it's been patched and played the game all the way through. I'm deeply saddened that we won't get a sequel. Sony really should listen to the fans. Though most people involved with production of days gone have left the company, the story isn't super complicated, wouldn't take much to continue the story, keep the mechanics from the first game and just improve on them and boom, u have a sequel.
Genuinely great game, I absolutely loved the story since it reminded me of The Last Of Us, which I completely loved for its story. I really hope they come out with a second game sometime soon.
Even though the gameplay is repetitive, it had a pretty solid story. It was fun getting bounties and hunting for animals and plants just so I can level up my trust level for the camps to unlock weapons and bike mods. I also liked the fact that you had to fuel your bike and fix it or your screwed in the open road. I also really liked how they had full on explanations for the origins for the zombies or “freaks” if you watch the cutscenes and pay attention to the conversations the scientists have.
The funny thing is that I think that there's mods to increase the amount of zombies. I don't play on pc but I think it's pretty hard on the hardware, since the game has to render more npcs, but as long as you have a pc that can handle it it should be fine.
The game never showed all the zombies in a horde. You saw maybe 75 max, and if the horde contained more than that it would spawn them as you kill them.
One of the first games I bought (I've only had my PS4 for about 3 years) and I absolutely LOVED it! It's the only game I've ever platinumed and I've finished it about 5 times, I come back to it again and again just to try new techniques or even just to ride around on my bike and take in the scenery. I genuinely love it and I'm absolutely gutted they aren't going to do a sequel.
Great game honestly, I waited for 2 years with the hope they will port this game to PC. At some point I did lose hope but luckily here it's. Spent a week playing and get 100%, the atmosphere is dark but it suit the apocalypse theme better than State of decay, just need some new city areas though. Now I just need to wait for Ghost of Tsushima PC version
Fun fact, I live in the town where they made this game and where it’s based. Also met the creators of the game, they are probably more buggy than the game itself.
Even though I didn't care much for the story or characters (besides Rikki and Deacon who were both painfully underutilized), this is to date one of the best games to just PLAY. Walking around, scavenging, taking down hordes with the MG-55 and the Chopper or going stealth to avoid one as you take out a bandit camp without anyone firing a shot so as to make sure they don't come running, it's truly an incredible experience. That terrifying escalating soundtrack as you near an alerted swarm is haunting. Best zombie game I've played alongside Dying Light and the Dead Island games.

Watchin Kev, beat a lil girl with a 2x4 was the highlight of my day so far! LOL. I love this game. I played the hell out of it. When you beat a horde in this game, you felt like you accomplished something because it was weapon and item management on the go that made you feel like you were one mistake from death. Plus I love dirt biking and the bike felt good in this. These bugs are hilarious, I've never seen any bugs like this. In fact, I think I saw one bug the entire time I played and that was a horde launching a deer up in the arm that they ran over while chasing me.
One of my favorite games ever. Great gameplay + great story + great setting/graphics = legend status. Beat it twice on PlayStation. Will end up getting it on PC too.

I never had more fun in a game than when I fought off swarms of freakers completely unprepared! I hated the story though, It was so weird. almost like 40% of the story was cut and the other 60% can't make complete sense without the missing 40%.
I played this on day one release. I had high hopes for it, but in the end I didn't like it because the zombies just keep respawning so it is pointless to kill any of them. With a force stealth game it just felt really slow and the radiant quests didn't help. One time, I had a zombie spawn right behind me before finding me 2 seconds of its new unlife to alert the horde trigger to my location.
I have been playing this game for years and the only bug issue i had was the last main story mission wouldnt load how is it this man practically broke the game with all these bugs 🤣🤣🤣🤣

lol I've been playing through this for the first time for the past week or so on PC and first off, beautiful game. The global illumination improvements thet added to the PC version are amazing. Besides that, I'm really enjoying it. The bike is such a fun way to traverse the world and besides some pretty shit voice direction from who ever coached Deacon's voice actor, the story is pretty good. Been playing on survival mode too which means no fast travel so I just get to soak in the world 😎

Iron Mike being an eternal idiot, Skizzo being the most obvious traitor ever before the fakeout that he was actually cool before him actually being a traitor again (twice), Deacon not recognising that his wife has turned into a selfish controlling twat and neglecting poor Rikki, Boozer literally never mattering to the story despite him being the only one besides Rikki that had any chemistry with Deacon (including his wife LOL), there were too many flaws that were just too frustrating to make it a true gem.
Imagine if they'd have written something actually humanly relatable ala The Last of Us and made Deacon turn from Sarah upon seeing her dedication to those nutjob militia after all the shit he went through to find her, or making idiot pacifist Iron Mike turn from those ways and splattering Skizzo's brains after he got Deacon tortured and nearly killed. What this game had in gameplay (realism and immersion), it ironically lacked in its story to bizarre levels. With a few subtle changes, this game could have been GOTY 2019. Once again, Sony's interference ruined a great thing.

Whenever I think of "What are the greatest games I've ever played", Days gone is always on that list. It was actually a masterpiece that wasn't noticed till much later

Idk why, but I liked the way Deacon delivers his lines especially when it’s just rambling and thinking out loud. I feel it’s pretty close to how real people talk when stressed out or confused lol

Days gone probably had the best open world zombie system and that’s saying a lot. It was just so fun to run or fight the hordes

The zombie hordes were fantastic, you either had to plan a route to train zombies and trap them and blow them up, or just be fast enough to outrun them and keep shooting them. It was a good experience

Lmao the PC version must perform very differently. Sure I had a visual glitch or 2 while playing on PS5 but damn you seem to have had so many! This is one of those games I also went blind into and now when I hear people say they gave up at the beginning im actually sad they didnt continue on through the story. It was had such a heart-wrenching story at certain moments that stuck with me for some time after. Also Boozeman literally became my favorite character by the end

I've played it on ps4pro, ps5 and pc. It honestly seems roughly the same in terms of bugs/glitches now.
I had gotten in day one and played it until the freaker horde mission up north and then restarted because I wasn't prepared for it.

I absolutely loved playing through this game and I don't understand why so many people didn't. Really would have loved to see the sequel.

I literally saw someone write an article to complain about the game a while back where they admitted they hadn't played much of it and they were whining that Deacon was unnecessarily merciful. Specifically at the point where you mercy killed the woman that got tied up and left for the freakers. They said it was unnecessary and all of his mercy killings made him violent and psychotic. The alternative to his mercy was a much worse fate, so I don't get the point they were trying to make.
It still makes me livid that we won't see a sequel because of people like this that didn't even play the game. If you don't like it, good for you, that doesn't mean going out of your way to shut it down for those that did enjoy it.
It was a great game and the pacing is fine if you didn't try to bum rush through the whole game just to finish it.

Imagine being a somewhat famous gun-for-hire during the apocalypse, you did a lot of jobs for different settlements and were living a bigger life than just surviving, just to die from your bike tripping over a gate.
The only offencive part I remember was that some weirdos were very greatly offended by the fact that the main character was a white man, but of course people with a normally functioning brain didn't really care. XD
I got the platinum trophy on this game all the time while is survival 2. It was super difficult but an incredibly imersive and rewarding experience

-- Both give the protagonist shelter when one of his people (Carl/Boozer) gets hurt.

State of decay was more TWD-ish but days gone is more " I Am Legend" ish kinda for me.

My dad hated Zombie games in general. Never really saw the appeal till he saw the trailer for this game on TV.
He rented the game from Family Video and he genuinely loved it. But I think it was the idea of being a biker guy in a zombie apocalypse was his selling point. And this is coming from a guy, my dad, who hates zombie apocalypse games. He just wish they made a sequel to it.

Had a fun time when i got it day 1 only bad thing that happend was when I'd get clothslined by the tripwires every time going really fast I'd always die from collision instead of just getting knocked down.
I have beaten Days gone on Console and PC to 100%...and i have NEVER witnessed these bugs that you experienced, especially the corpse launching and those trying to act like the Predator jumping from tree to tree.

This game is a good cross between The Walking Dead and Sons of Anarchy. Some of the missions were really lame but fighting the hordes was one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had.

I got to 856 days and im still playing cuz i didnt do any side missions(Marauder Camp hunter, Horde hunter etc.), the game is very good

I really love days gone. I'm not denying that it had a rough launch but I give bend studio props for jumping on it quickly and getting bugs fixed and all that and now the game is much much better. I wish more people would actually give it a fair chance now that it's all patched up. I've enjoyed seeing the UA-cam videos of people who gave it a really harsh review (even though they didn't play it long) but came back to it a year or do later and highly enjoyed it. It's good to see them admit they reviewed it harshy, didn't give it a fair shot and then give a review since it's been patched and played the game all the way through. I'm deeply saddened that we won't get a sequel. Sony really should listen to the fans. Though most people involved with production of days gone have left the company, the story isn't super complicated, wouldn't take much to continue the story, keep the mechanics from the first game and just improve on them and boom, u have a sequel.
Genuinely great game, I absolutely loved the story since it reminded me of The Last Of Us, which I completely loved for its story. I really hope they come out with a second game sometime soon.

yea it gets really fun when you have a crappy PC and a horde with 300+ ragdoll hitboxes at the same time
Even though the gameplay is repetitive, it had a pretty solid story. It was fun getting bounties and hunting for animals and plants just so I can level up my trust level for the camps to unlock weapons and bike mods. I also liked the fact that you had to fuel your bike and fix it or your screwed in the open road. I also really liked how they had full on explanations for the origins for the zombies or “freaks” if you watch the cutscenes and pay attention to the conversations the scientists have.
The funny thing is that I think that there's mods to increase the amount of zombies. I don't play on pc but I think it's pretty hard on the hardware, since the game has to render more npcs, but as long as you have a pc that can handle it it should be fine.
The game never showed all the zombies in a horde. You saw maybe 75 max, and if the horde contained more than that it would spawn them as you kill them.

One of the first games I bought (I've only had my PS4 for about 3 years) and I absolutely LOVED it!
It's the only game I've ever platinumed and I've finished it about 5 times, I come back to it again and again just to try new techniques or even just to ride around on my bike and take in the scenery. I genuinely love it and I'm absolutely gutted they aren't going to do a sequel.
Great game honestly, I waited for 2 years with the hope they will port this game to PC. At some point I did lose hope but luckily here it's. Spent a week playing and get 100%, the atmosphere is dark but it suit the apocalypse theme better than State of decay, just need some new city areas though. Now I just need to wait for Ghost of Tsushima PC version
Fun fact, I live in the town where they made this game and where it’s based. Also met the creators of the game, they are probably more buggy than the game itself.

Played on PC and the only bug I encountered was a zombie running up the air, as if he's thinking, "I believe I can fly!".
Even though I didn't care much for the story or characters (besides Rikki and Deacon who were both painfully underutilized), this is to date one of the best games to just PLAY. Walking around, scavenging, taking down hordes with the MG-55 and the Chopper or going stealth to avoid one as you take out a bandit camp without anyone firing a shot so as to make sure they don't come running, it's truly an incredible experience. That terrifying escalating soundtrack as you near an alerted swarm is haunting. Best zombie game I've played alongside Dying Light and the Dead Island games.
I actually liked the game. I guess I'm a sucker for open world games though since I also liked death stranding.

Watchin Kev, beat a lil girl with a 2x4 was the highlight of my day so far! LOL. I love this game. I played the hell out of it. When you beat a horde in this game, you felt like you accomplished something because it was weapon and item management on the go that made you feel like you were one mistake from death. Plus I love dirt biking and the bike felt good in this. These bugs are hilarious, I've never seen any bugs like this. In fact, I think I saw one bug the entire time I played and that was a horde launching a deer up in the arm that they ran over while chasing me.
Played it on pc recently. one of the best games i've played. Totally enjoyable from start to finish. Damn shame it was a buggy launch.

This game pulled me out of a dark time in my life, it gave me a reason to want to wake up each day. Man I just really appreciate how funny you made this 😂😂 cause In my mind it's about never being able to escape life's ultimate fate, and whether even in times of hars ship you push on cause there are days that are worth it :)
I finally tried it myself. Found it ok for a bit but the combat and stealth aspects were too severely lacking to hold my interest.

I played this on day one release. I had high hopes for it, but in the end I didn't like it because the zombies just keep respawning so it is pointless to kill any of them. With a force stealth game it just felt really slow and the radiant quests didn't help.
One time, I had a zombie spawn right behind me before finding me 2 seconds of its new unlife to alert the horde trigger to my location.
I finished the game around March. 10/10 game.

lol I've been playing through this for the first time for the past week or so on PC and first off, beautiful game. The global illumination improvements thet added to the PC version are amazing. Besides that, I'm really enjoying it. The bike is such a fun way to traverse the world and besides some pretty shit voice direction from who ever coached Deacon's voice actor, the story is pretty good. Been playing on survival mode too which means no fast travel so I just get to soak in the world 😎
Days Gone is an underrated game it's a lot of fun and it's open world i just wish the developers gave it more attention.
Bend Studio gave it over 2 years of attention while reviving that attention to the pc version
