When will Roland push out a plug-in fix for Apple Silicon Macs? Logic plug-in only works if you put Logic Pro in Rosetta 2 mode which defeats purpose/value of using Apple Silicon over Intel based systems. It was really frustrating to only discover this AFTER spending $3600.
Bumping this comment - It's October 2024, and Roland has added support for new DAWs which is great, but still no patch for Logic. MainStage works fine natively. This makes no sense. I will pay for the upgrade if you insist but just please fix it already Roland! I shouldn't have to choose between whether I want to use certain features of my DAW or control it with my $3600 "evolving, future-proof platform" workstation.
I've done all the steps. Downloaded the driver. Set my fantom to vendor. downloaded the plugins for logic and MainStage. Fantom says connect to pc. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hey, but if i press the button "DAW" and than "Logic" the screen shows the fantom synthesizer and say: Pleas connect to the computer. But this is connect and all is working well with midi, recording, and play the audio out of fantom. I also install this roland driver for logic pro. What i did wrong? How i can use DAW control?

Hello Ed! Please help me. When I press "DAW CTRL" on my Fantom 8 (v. 3.00) connected to my Mac mini M1 (v. 12.2) it gives me option for "MAINSTAGE/LOGIC" or "ABLETON LIVE". Now, I don't have Ableton, but I have both MainStage (v.3.5.3) and Logic (v. 10.7.2), so I always choose "MAINSTAGE/LOGIC". However, it doesn't matter if I am running MainStage or Logic, the Fantom screen always reads "CONTROL: Main Stage". So, my Fantom works fine with Main Stage, showing "Sets and Patch Lists", "Smart Controls", ... everything. But when running Logic, the Fantom screen does not show anything you presented in this video but the wrong title "CONTROL: Main Stage" (not "CONTROL: Logic"). 😢 Of course, if neither one is running, the screens reads "Control: Not Connected", and a picture of the Fantom with the legend "Please Connect to the PC." ¿What can I do? Descargue de la pagina de soporte de Roland un plugin para Logic y Main Stage, también un driver de usb (en Mac también es necesario), en el menú del fandom cambiar el driver usb de general a vendor, y es recomendable tenerlo actualizado a la ultima versión que ahora creo que es la 3.01. Definitely need FL studio support. That’s arguably one of the most popular DAW’s. Obviously everyone wants their DAW of choice integrated but that’s not realistically possible with how many there are but I feel like the big ones should be integrated if the interest is there
Fantom works with FL. It maps to a scene. First off. Go into the System settings on the fantom the select Sound and turn Local Switch to off. Press the Write button to save. Download and install the drivers from the roland website on your computer. Connect a usb through gate out 1 on the fantom to the computer usb port. Go to the midi settings in FL. Fantom -6 7 8 should show up. Double click it and also make sure to enable and master sync input and output. Next go to your fl plugins and select the midi out plugin. Set the port number to the midi in and out port you just chose in the midi settings. Now set the channel to any zoned instrument you want to play within the scene. The instrument should play in FL as long as you're using the correct scene or else you won't hear anything to begin with. The only issue is knowing what scene your mapped to beforehand. You might have to scroll through the scenes and hit a key on the fantom initially to see which one FL is mapped to. The channel/sound should play in FL if your on the correct scene. But once your done with all the steps anything you do in the fantom should record into FL.
Always the issue with these things is software updates to Logic and macOS break things unless Roland stay on top of this. My Fantom 8 hasn't worked with Logic DAW control for some time now, works with Mainstage but not Logic
@@skinmech4851 Yep, M1 Pro. I mean the Fantom DAW control wasn't recognizing when I opened up Logic (though it was for MainStage). But if you go to the Logic app in finder, click "get info," and check the "Open in Rosetta" box, the Fantom will recognize it when you open Logic again. It's a good temporary patch until Roland updates the Fantom system.

I just bought a Fantom 8 and trying to decide which editing DAW software I will use Logic Pro or Ableton Live. I read where it is easier to transport my tracks to Pro Tools if I have Logic Pro. Im use to PC world. I used to use Mac's many years ago and they do cost more. I wonder which Mac would be good for me that doesn't cost alot for running Logic Pro.

I never figured it out. I just use it as a midi keyboard and not a DAW controller. If the actual keyboard wasn’t so high quality I would sell it. Lots of weird issues like this and not many expansions. But for my purposes it works so I’ll keep it until something better comes around

My Roland Fantom-06 doesn't even work as a MIDI controller, either, as no inputs are being recognized in the DAW. (My Roland Fantom-06 is running the version 1.04, the Mac is on OS 10.15 and runs the Logic Pro X 10.6.3. It's never to late to finish a product that has been released years before its OS was anything but "production ready". Sadly that has become the norm with companies. In the times of EPROMS less bug ridden and featureless products were sold. ZENcore also sounds nothing like ACB technology. You will hear it the moment you use cross-modulation between oscillators. And what about my System-8 and its minimal number of four patches per plug-out? Roland already droped AIRA products. What do you people think will soon happen with Zencore?
I plugged my 08 into my computer yesterday to try to use it as a midi controller. Usually MIDI just "works." Not the case with fantom. Going to call them today. All drivers installed. DAW recognizes fantom as Interface. Does anyone know how to set up fantom to also play VST? There isn't a single example of someone doing this on the internet. Also I am using Studio One and I have one USB cable going from the fantom to the computer.
Press the DAW CTRL button. Then press CTRL and ASSIGN at the same time. This will give you control of 8 macros automatically on a device in Ableton. Not sure if that is what you are looking for or not.
This feature is currently useless because it doesn't work on Apple Silicon Macs. The current version of the Logic Control Surface driver only supports the Intel platform. Please Roland provide a version that supports Apple Silicon!
Where are the videos to help troubleshoot WHY nothing is working even with downloading all necessary items from your website! This keyboard is causing me a headache ROLAND ... it's not easy right out of the box ...I downloaded the software needed (Driver, etc) ... NOTHING WORKS. Where are the troubleshoot videos? This is a $5K paperweight.
I agree so frustrating ! there is not an official Roland video showing how to set up fantom with an audio interface , after lots of research I found a work around but its causing zones not to show up in scenes ? ! change one zone in a scene and two zones change ! plus its 2023 and logic DAW ctrl still does not work without rosetta and my other plugins won't work if I use rosetta ... why is this not fixed after all this time ?

Don’t work with Logic anymore , that’s the problem with updates , and the big question is if and when it will work again and if it’s important then stop future updates from Logic …..

UPDATE! I found out from a forum post somewhere that if you open Logic in Rosetta the DAW control will work!

I really dont get it why I should navigate on the keyboard to access DAW tracks if I just can make on click with the mouse.
Umm maybe if the computer is on the other side of the room. You never know what kind of set up someone has so the more tools the better

Did you get a reply? Mine does not work either.
