This is the kind of toy that gets passed down through generations.

Nah it'll probably get thrown out before the kid has a chance to pass it down.

My mom had some plastic crackable eggs that came with a box, and normal and scrambled eggs. I LOVED them. I still have them. Crackable eggs are precious! Homemade or not, they're so cool

We have the Duktig kitchen from IKEA and it’s the perfect size! It’s not too big at all.

As someone who has worked in the early years, this is fantastic! Pretend play is so crucial for understanding of the world and toys that are natural or made with things like cloth are really great. Plastic toys are good up to a point but these give more sensory stimulation and can help kids learn about the world better.

I’m a couple months late, but I would have used a blanket stitch.
It can give it a cute, quaint appearance, but I also think it makes appliqué pieces like this look more finished.
If you can’t hide the stitches entirely, might as well use cute visible stitches.
I made a bunch of felt and amigurumi foods for my kid when he was little. He’s a teen now, and those toys have since gone through all of his younger cousins and then were passed on to my brother-in-law’s nieces and nephews.
I figure as long as they’re getting played with until they fall apart, they’ve served their purpose, lol.

Reminds me of the double-sided giant felt board that I made for my kids! It grew more and more felt pieces as my kids' imagination grew over the years! Always new felt board pieces to find! Homemade Christmas tree decorations, stocking stuffers, Easter baskets, and cheery, funny lunchbox surprises! Great memories! Thank you for reminding me ☺️🥰

Genuine question, if you're making a felt on felt toy, why not just felt them together instead of stitching them together?

You could have cut two white pieces. Sew the yolk to one, then sew the white pieces together so you dont see the yellow stitching.

Anne, eggs are chicken ovulation. They are usually taken from birds in terrible conditions. Please rethink your consumption of them.

I understand people's choice to avoid foods that are unethically obtained but...my chickens live their best life scavenging in my back yard all day and the eggs I gather are 10x better because of it. My uncle used to raise cattle and we would gather around the diner table, giving thanks as we ate. I research the foods I buy because I care about where my food comes from, but that doesn't mean all animal products are unethical. If anything, I would argue that incorporating foods in play, like this, provides us with the opportunity for teaching moments around topics such as this.
