What I’ve learned from watching this video is that DPadGamer actually hates these games
Everyone loves Dark Souls now but nobody appreciates Rusty Bucket Bay :(
I think mad monster mansion is my favourite personally, it kinda nails the aesthetic, the challenges are pretty fun and the exploration is neat as well. personally i do like getting the jiggy while the ghost is sleeping but i see why people dont like it. it also freaked me out as a kid but its grown on me.
That's close to favorite for me but my favorite is tick tock wood
Your placement for Hailfire Peaks is proof that there is still some good in the world.
Personally Jolly Roger’s Lagoon is my favorite Banjo level. But I do see your point. I’m not really a fan of platforming in Banjo games. I like the exploring aspect a lot more, so I think that explains it.
Fair enough :)
I just got Banjo-Kazooie as my third game for my N64 two days ago (as of me writing this comment) and I absolutely LOVE it! More than SM64 in fact
Banjo kazooie just is downright better than SM64.
Actually that is one of the reasons rare made the game sm 64 was rushed into production just like Majora's mask and rare basically told Nintendo that they can do better so basically they made a much better platformer and yes I totally agree bk is way better
@@monkeyanimationsofficial
BK does a lot of things better, more interesting NPC interactions, more interesting worlds, more interesting powerups.
But M64 has the parkour movement that just flows so well. I would never dismiss it as worse.
@@Broockle
Yes, they do focus on rather different things, BK a lot more puzzles and SM64 a lot more platforming.
It's quite clear Banjo's controls weren't designed for intense platforming, so the game gets a bit frustrating in say, the engine room.
I bet the engine room would be a lot of fun in SM64.
@@monkeyanimationsofficial
o i mean... dun think the engine room would be that fun in Mario64 either 😅
They went a bit overboard with that thing.
Loved hailfire peaks, loved the concept, reminds of the fire and ice poem, and the glide ability is just so fun
The glide ability is great. So much so that I wish it was used way more.
Love Banjo kazooie so much, thank You for this video
I had no idea you could kill the shark with eggs. Wow. And I've played this game a dozen times.
Not counting the Spiral Mountain stages, hub worlds, and final boss areas, my ranking of each BK and BT level would probably be something like this below…
*Note:* I am basing BK’s level rankings on the Xbox ports, which conveniently save all the notes and Jinjos one picks up, making certain levels like Rusty Bucket Bay and Click Clock Wood easier.
*A-Tier*
Mayahem Temple
Treasure Trove Cove
Hailfire Peaks
Freezeezy Peak
Witchy World
*B-Tier*
Jolly Roger’s Lagoon
Mad Monster Mansion
Gobi’s Valley
Cloud Cuckooland (if not aiming for 100%)
Click Clock Wood
Mumbo’s Mountain
Bubblegloop Swamp
Glitter Gulch Mine
Rusty Bucket Bay
*C-Tier*
Terrydactyland
Grunty Industries
Clanker’s Cavern
*D-Tier*
_Blank_
*F-Tier*
Cloud Cuckooland (if one aims for 100%, which means eventually taking on Canary Mary’s infamous rematches)
Tip: Canary Marys rematch is way easier if you stay right behind her until the end. Her ai has a rubberband effect on her speed if you get ahead of her she gets faster and will pass you.
@@zackc5973
That did not work for me at all, at least on the Rare Replay port I was using. So the only way I was able to beat Canary Mary’s rematches was to brute force it, by constantly pausing the game and tapping the buttons at “Ludicrous Speed”, in order to stay ahead even with her rubber-banding. By the time I finished both of them, I genuinely had a sore arm.
In my experience, it seemed like you still have to hit the buttons insanely fast just to trail behind her. It was therefore hard to gauge how fast is too fast. And I do not recall seeing any in-game hints to suggest Canary Mary even behaves in that rubber-banding way. So it seems unfair for them to expect the player to know and utilize that strategy.
@@markcobuzzi826 Dont get me wrong its still an aweful jiggy that gives no hints. I just always heard about the rubberband thing though
I would swap Treasure Trove Cove and Terrydactyland, bump Mad Monster Mansion to A tier, swap Mumbo's Mountain and Jolly Roger's Lagoon, then put Grunty Industries somewhere in C. Oh yeah then throw Cloud Cuckooland back down below F (I spent my entire allowance on a turbo controller just for that)
I had to find a better button mashing technique and it has helped me tons. You could also use a spoon to help.
How would I rank the worlds...?
(Not ranked within tiers.)
S: Mumbo's Mountain, Treasure Trove Cove, Bubblegloop Swamp, Gobi's Valley, Rusty Bucket Bay, Click Clock Wood, Mayahem Temple, Witchyworld, Grunty Industries
A++: Clanker's Cavern, Freezeezy Peak, Mad Monster Mansion, Glitter Gulch Mine, Jolly Roger's Lagoon, Terrydactyland, Hailfire Peaks, Cloud Cuckooland
I don't actively even mildly dislike any worlds in B-K & B-T.
While I may rank some slightly lower than S-tier if they have poorly optimized areas, have sections/enemies or minigames that are kind of annoyingly tricky, or are a bit unintuitively laid-out, they're all great regardless.
me who has never played a banjo game and all my knowledge comes from dpad: “ah yes, true.”
honestly really like grunty industries and rusty bucket bay lol...no hate though, enjoyed watching your video. great franchise overall!
Click Clock is my favorite, followed by Freezeezy Peak. No love for Grunty's Revenge though lol those worlds are super short but fun.
Would be interesting to see how they'd look remade in 3d... 😊
Best world in tooie is Grunty's factory.
Hated it as a kid
It was my favorite when I replayed tho.
Surprised many people didn't like it. I loved it as a kid. The music slaps too!
@@CrazyMetroid As a kid I was too stupid to figure it out lol but replaying it , it was much better. (Except for the first person part, that is still terrible)
Terrydactyl is S tier!! But love this otherwise❤
Showdown town- A
Nutty acres- C
Logbox 720- C
Banjoland- B
Jiggoseum- D
Terrarium of terror- F
This used to be my favorite game
Still is mine
I love this I've only played tooie and N&B so...
P.S. I just bought rare replay kazooie
I have been playing Banjo Kazooie every year for as long as the game has been out and I never knew you could kill the shark with eggs.
Grunty Industries and Terrydactyland were always my favs. Mayahem and Gulch were my least favorites in Tooie.
Click Clock Wood blew my mind when I first played it. That one’s top for me.
Is it just me or does the difficulty from Banjo-Kazooie to Banjo-Tooie go from 6/10 to 9/10 ?!?!
Not just you. Banjo-Tooie worlds are generally bigger and there is a lot more interconnected puzzles, and I think a lot of the platforming is less basic so it makes sense that it's more difficult in general
I actual pretty much agree with these !! Im glad i found someone else who struggled a lot with witchyworld😭 but that level still has a special place in my heart for how awesome it is🎉
And my favourite levels are bubblegloop swamp, mayaham temple, and hailfire peaks!!! Both for design and good memories :) 🤟
Amazing video btw! Always love your bk content!!💓
Grunty Industries is my favorite world ever and you put it onto F...
I feel ya man...
Same. This level blew my fantasy on a whole new level as a kid. Everything was so big and creepy, it felt so unnatural and that was super interesting
My opinion of Mad Monster Mansion is biased by the fact that the music absolutely slaps.
Tooie might have been divisive (for being *TOO* long? not much criticism of that these days...) but I still believe that if people were given the chance to play Kazooie levels with the entire Tooie moveset and movement they'd take it.
Everybody hates Rusty Bucket Bay-- though the music, like all of Banjo-Kazooie is amazing. I love Clanker, he was my favourite npc in Banjo-Kazooie, I was horrified and crushed in Nuts and Bolts at what happened. Terrydactyl Land was the best level to me, I love dinosaurs, the theme and running around as spilt up Kazooie was so fun, and being turned into a daddy or baby twrex made me laugh.
When I am older I swear I will become a super fan, when I get money that is…
In my opinion, the best world is Click Clock Wood. It's perfect.
I love both Rusty Bucket Bay and Grunty Industries and would put both in A-tier. My two least favorite levels are Cloud Cuckooland because of how disjointed it is, and Terrydactyland because of how ugly it is.
I think glitter should be up one, I love the idea that there’s a underground mine just chilling under a mountain
People dislike as levels as soon as it gets a little challenging! When we played it on the n64 the best part was designing a strategy to get all the notes without dying! The challenge of click clock wood and rusty bucket bay made them iconic they were the “hard levels” without them the game would be to easy, our parents didn’t buy us a game every week like it is today, the adventure needed to be long.
While my rankings may have given "i dislike this because its challenging" that was not what I was going for.
I disagree, Click Clock Wood & Rusty Bucket Bay are iconic as "hard levels" but they don't earn that badge based on fair challenge. I don't think Banjo Kazooie's design of resetting all notes on death is fair or fun. Sure it makes sense in most early levels where your only chance of dying is due to running out of health, because then your failure is a result of repeated mistakes. It doesn't make sense when you can die due to a single mistake. Instead, it should respawn you at the start of the level, and deal damage, killing you if applicable; like how it works in most 3D zelda games.
And I just dont agree with your last sentiment but to each their own.
Mayahem temple in A…..
Really…?
Its just a lame level and the theming is just…. bad.
I mean there is a cow with flies cause…. Mayans..? Plus the terrible first person stuff.
Its just not a fun start.
Regardless of how we personally rank mad monster, everyone can agree the loggo jiggie is SSS tier, all time iconic gaming
This is strange. Wonder wing doesn't work in areas that crush you in Banjo Tooie for me... yet, I just saw footage of someone cheesing the stomping plains with it. Did they patch it in the XBLA version?
probably, a lot of things were changed in the XBLA version, like klungo's boss cycle was changed so it wasn't random.
Oh, hmm. Not sure, maybe it was changed.
Cauldron keep?
Also, mr patch is my least favorite boss of anything I’ve ever played
Oh, I suppose that is unlocked like any other world. I don't really think it counts tho, but if it were on the list, it'd be like a B or C. Serves its purpose.
@@DPadGamer I guess your right, because you unlock another gate within cauldron keep
Big time disagree on Rusty Bucket Bay; but I love the tier list! (Witchy World is my favorite, followed by Treasure Trove Cove, then Jolly Roger Lagoon, and then Mayahem Temple. Those would be my A-tier. Rusty Bucket Bay, at least for me, would be either a very high D, or even mid-C tier.)
Damn you ranked them so fast.
I just made a rank video too which took me much longer. Prbly cause I didn't rehearse 😅. Also I added the DK64 maps in my list lol.
Great video 😀
I watched a few of these lists and the results are so diverse.
I'm pretty sure I cut out a lot of rambling, I didn't rehearse anything either.
@@DPadGamer
I'll keep that in mind for next time 😅
I would rank mayahem temple very fucking highly. It’s the perfect introductory world to Banjo Tooie.
I love your great videos
I’m gonna have to disagree on Rusty Bucket Bay. I think its challenging nature is part of the fun.
Also, mentioning the changes with the notes as a Rare Replay thing is incorrect. Banjo-Kazooie and Tooie were on Xbox 360 before Rare Replay was a thing.
In my opinion, just because I have diarrhea in my underwear does not mean that I shit my pants.
This list made me realize how tooie starts you off with one of the best levels in the game followed by a lot of mid 😂 the level designs are cool but most of those middle levels can be rough
How dare you disrespect Bubblegloop Swamp.
C for csand let's goo
hey dpad, how was your day?
Pretty good, how about you?
@@DPadGamer happy to know you have a good day! Your videos are appreciated as always and very happy to have you as an original creator that is not following the stream, rather independent. Keep going and you do you!
@@DPadGamer good :)
I'm okay with my favorite Click Clock Wood being a B.
Freezeezy needs it own category. It's absolutely amazing. The music and the setting is magical. Treasure Trove sucks ass. It's a step up from Mumbo's but A? Nah, not even close to me. Interesting list though!
I feel you did the fake out with mad monster mansion to mess with me personally and I felt called out
To be fair, it was edited like that before you brought up MMM. Soooorry.
Sounds like you dont like Banjo Kazooie or Tooie based off your rankings
What
Grunty Industries at the bottom? Skill Issue my friend 😂
I honestly think Jolly Roger should be D tier
I totally love the 9 worlds in Banjo-Kazooie and I totally love the 8 worlds in Banjo-Tooie. That makes 17 worlds.
Mayahem Temple is the most mid starter level ever. This list is a joke
Well it seems the last third of each game is packed with awful levels......no wonder I can't beat these games.....rip
I hate rusty bucket bay but I love grunty industries. What am i?
Valid
Rusty bucket bay is A tier !
clankers cavern is the worst map in Banjo Kazooie because it is a pain to play
So Mayahem temple is best level? lol what
100% isn't lol more B- tier well for me
Another Rusty bucket BAE hater because they got skill gapped. Also hated on Click Clock Woods which is arguably the best level because it was “difficult” 🙄
WTF!?! YOU CAN KILL SNACKER???
Condivido questa classifica
I wish my xbox would nit be broken :(
Anything
Did I do good
You are just afraid of industrialisation (?)
Clankers Cavern is the best world!
Please never make lists again
How does the only Tooie level with zero backtracking get an F tier?
the fuck?
You really don't like these games
You know it's possible to dislike parts of a game you really love... right?
I accidentally disliked 😭😭😭
Please try to use the word iconic a little more often🤢
First
Yeah, we do not agree at all on Mayahem Temple and Click Clock Wood LOL! Also, Bubblegloop is the WORST
Thats fair
Is there a link to make this list?
Oh righto, I'll add it to the description.
I came back to the video because youtube recomended it again.
