Genius! After watching this channel and Jody over at weldingtipsandtricks, I just ordered my first tig stick plasma unit. I have never welded in my 55 years on Earth. Ive been bitten by the bug hard!
Simply elegant execution. Really love the practical use of the third hand and fist. I laugh every time the pop up. I try and I try, but I’ll never be as clever as you. 👍👍😎👍👍
It's hypnotising and fascinating to watch someone like you. A person who have somthing in mind, can plan every step to make, have the skill for every step to build and finally has one piece of art, that is outstanding. The only thing that is disturbing is in fact your quantity. The qualitiy is beyond but i need every friday such a vid for a good start in the weekend :-D
Very good build Dirk, achieves a consistent grind angle, provides a dedicated grinder wheel and collects the tungsten dust for safer disposal. Well done. Excellent video, very good workmanship.
brilliant, I would drop in steel thread inserts for the adjustment screw as aluminium thread will wear away after a few hundred turns, but most of the time you stick to one angle for the grind so not that big of a issue. Love that you designed it for sealed sharpening function and not tired to add a cut off and point grind off features which would complicate it unnecessarily. pure simple brilliant can be used for years in the shop
The build, the art, the video recording^montage, ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ 🎖. Its a pleasure to watch you create. In other diy i just skip to last part to see what is being built. Here i enjoy the trip. Thanks
I think this is awesome. You can wear a mask but the dust goes everywhere. Then when you clean or blow stuff it stirs up that dust again, and no mask. Really a great design.
Let me know when you start selling these, so I can save a ton of time and just buy the finished product! Excellent job, once again. Thank you for taking time to film and post this video.
You did a great job making that attachment. I was wonder how you would solve the problem off grinding in the same spot. But a simple washer was the answer. Simple but effective. Nice build!
@@gnarlock3927 Could you post the code you're referencing? I certainly haven't done it all but it would be something I'd like to be able to reference so I can research the intent. I started as a 56 coded (US Navy nuclear) welder in '93 and have worked in quite a few different roles, on probably a hundred different types of projects as a welder, and have never seen the tungsten angle specified in any weld procedure.
You should add one more hole to make a blunt tip for thev60 deg . I personally use a diamond wheel for a bench grinder and a drill to turn the tungsten it gives me a near polished finish.
That was awesome! First video I’ve seen of yours. Loved the helper hands too. Only negative that jumped at me was that I reckon a thumb screw for the angle setter would make sense, I’m a big fan of not needing tools to adjust tools. You’ve gained a subbed though! 👍🏻

How do you NOT have a million people following you? Another insane build! Awesome!

my tungsten grinder throws dust and bits right into my face. this is great

The Metalist range of quality tools coming to your nearest hardware store . Great job as usual.
This dude's skills are mind blowing 😳
Took me a moment for the hammer.
And went to the top of the "need" list.
NICE !

@@TheMetalist you are welcome!
For an awesome welder you make a great machinist.👍
thank you 😁😅
Excellent. We featured this video in our homemade tools forum this week :)
I'd weld one up too, if only I had something to grind a tungsten. Seriously, super nice work dude.
Thank you 😁
Fantastic what a great tool and it catches the dust 👍👨🏻🏭🇬🇧
Dude...you make this look so easy! I like watching your vids!
I will probably never need one of these, but what a fascinating build. 👍
Would be an ideal project for a metal 3D printer.
Thank you 😁
Oh yes a metal 3d printer 😍
only few can be an artists and a craftsman 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Das hast Du sehr schön gelöst! 😃🤙🏻
Dankeschön 😁👋

This guy obviously has the skills that enable him to pay the bills
😁
This is excellent, like all your work. Very enjoyable to watch.
Thank you 🙂
I'm glad you have a helping hand.😆
This is excellent work. I'm always worried about breathing in tungsten dust. This is perfect.
thank you 😁
A true craftsman! Nice job.
You are an artist. Thanks for sharing.
I thought tthat hammer head was epic, Until i saw that helping Hand. LOL. Nice build by the way
Gran trabajo.
Excellent! I do like that smooth finnish, good job dude

Thank you 😁
Another awesome project!!!
Thank you 🙂
Absolutely outstanding. Perfection.
Thank you 😁
Endlich staubfrei 👌🏻top!
nice piece of equipment, makes it more safe!
cordless drill and dedicated grinding wheel, that's all you need
You can get 150 grit diamond wheel for around 45dollars
You are boring. Of course it can be done the way you describe however it is way more fun the way The Metalist has gone.
Pff, i use an angle grinder with whatever wheel i'm using at the moment and turn the tungsten by hand. #prowelderskills :p
On some code work the tungsten angle is specified so it’s nice to have an easy and accurate way to replicate
@@gnarlock3927 Could you post the code you're referencing? I certainly haven't done it all but it would be something I'd like to be able to reference so I can research the intent. Thank you 😁 they are available!
@@TheMetalist Great!! Where may I find them?
@@PauliesProjects i put them in the Video descripion
Very clever mate 👍
Thank you 😁
Amazing work as always, The only downfall with this style is when you dip and it doesn't fit thru the hole anymore :(
Thank you 🙂
Yes thats right🙄
What I usually do (and its way tooooo often), break off the fouled end and start fresh. Put the shit end of the electrode in the vice and snap it off.
The Metalist have you tried different grits? What grit did you use?
@@TheMetalist that tends to be the proper way too. Much quicker sharpening a fresh blank end rather than grinding away a blob
Amazing creation hats off
You are a true sorcerer!
Really cool my dude. I'm 100% pirating your idea
Awesome 💪

Nice work really well executed.
Maybe one point, one hole is missing on the split in order to avoid having Cracks.
Wow amazing idea !

Hallo Dirk, super Video.
That literal helping hand is the coolest fucking thing
Thank you 😁
your hand so strong!!!!
