IIT/IIMs have such a limited amount of seats that it doesn't really make a difference in a population as large as ours. What students need to do is learn vocational skills from an early age. Especially after 10th, if kids want to become computer engineers, why are they wasting time studying physical chemistry, organic chemistry, 3 dimensional geometry and quantum mechanics. They will be better off learning programming. With the right skills, you will end up with a good job/establish something of your own (eventually). An elite college's degree gives you a great headstart but for most people, preparing for those exams is a waste of time. What's the point of spending years preparing for an exam which rejects 99% of the applicants? (This is for the general public and not the gifted students who usually crack these exams). Use that time to learn work skills and then go manage these IIT/IIM graduates or hire them.

Even if engineering subjects in different engineering disciplines being taught by IIT professors at a subscription price. It will be win win situation for both of them. Educationally and technically the student is benefited and financially the institute of our country. One such example is NPTEL.

Very true. I'm a group B officer at central govt,and left my private software engineering job for this at the age of 24. I regret my decision because there is no growth in govt job and you can not deny your job and are obliged to your toxic seniors all your life. At times it is very very frustrating.
I am a Govt Medical Doctor and getting embarrassed every time doing duties as being a specialist in a certain domain I am not authorised to to do my job , doing only things only what entry level officers are doing. Please comment upon reservations in educational institutions. It’s not only about Sarkari Jobs. Take for example Medical exams. I personally will never get myself treated with any doctor of reserved catagory.

Yes you are absolutely right, currently a govt. job has almost become like a private job, where now you've got to justify your salary, and you can't say no to any work given to you. My election duty was at the Nepal-China Border where no mobile signals, no shop nothing was there and around 15-20 houses were there at the steep slope of a Hill, where we did trekking at 10 PM in the night because the election point was a govt. Primary school located at the slope of the hill where we had to stay for three days and there was no other facility for the election team to reside. It was damn risky to do the trekking so late at night, that too on a very steep slope of the hill. But we had to any how reach the location within time.
It's not good general category should not get any reservations...but should work hard on merit as they have got generational caste privilege since birth. Social capital is not available to anyone else except upper caste

Reservation of Sc/st is not because of being lower caste. They dont get reservation just because of lower caste status or voilence . Neither the any caste discrimination or any physical violence. Sc st get reservation because 1. Lack of opportunity in past= not allowed to study, do jobs of choice, bussiness. 2.Maximum of sc st are poor. 3. 99% of sc st are landless 4. Lack of represention - sc st has25% of population but only 1% are in gov posts. 5. Lack of education and employment which is important for their financial and social upliftment.
It's true, I also have availed reservation for appointment with merit. But i oppose reservation in Promotion that too specially best among failed candidates to Gr.B posts. In Railway a person not fulfilling the minimum standsrds is selected. Ex. The standards set for reserved candidates is 60%, & General is 90% in Promotion exams. But when no reserved candidates qualified than the Rule " Best among failed candidates " applied and a person with 20 marks, 18 marks is promoted. Such system should be removed & Group B posts should be recruited directly and not as promotes. This country needs to stop Group B promotions departmentally but should take from Staff selection process OR UPSC, Railway Services etc but not within department. Reservation should come with creamy layer as only the knowledgeable families continue to avail the reservation facilities. When will this happen. Remove the coloum of mentioning Religion and caste wherever not required. Many such ills needs a strong political will. Expected
General candidates from lower middle class bring 98% marks and get no good education and job seats whereas candidates of rich businessmen and officer fathers of so-called 'backward castes' living in posh bungalows bring 65% marks and get the best education and jobs. The general candidate remains poor and backward just like his father. Most of the unreserved seats are already taken by the 'backward classes' and the remaining seats are exclusively kept reserved for them to ensure 'equality'. This just a reservation which has vengeance in its mind against the general castes instead of a genuine concern for progress. Only removing all reservations and keeping it only for genuinely poor candidates as its sole criteria can be more promotive of social equality, unity and progress of Indian society. Reservation in today's society is a curse to India. It is just like Jinnah who kept crying and using victim card for extra benefits for his particular minority group untill he cut away half of our country. Reservation is just extension of colonisation tactic of devide and rule extension by Congress. Simple solution is all systems endorsements that only Indian national instead of cast, race, religious criteria columns .we need quality not quantity. We have seen more than 90 person marks candidate don't get admission in medical, our, or other specialized courses and reservations class gets easily with 33 percentages. While talking reservation they start shouting we are underprivileged and weak other side saying we all are equal. Is this not dual nature. How children's /wards of officers and ministers of reservation class is underprivileged fellow. Upeasement tactic can't benefits nation.

1. Lack of opportunity in past= not allowed to study, do jobs of choice, bussiness.
2.Maximum of sc st are poor.
3. 99% of sc st are landless

It's true, I also have availed reservation for appointment with merit. But i oppose reservation in Promotion that too specially best among failed candidates to Gr.B posts. In Railway a person not fulfilling the minimum standsrds is selected. Ex. The standards set for reserved candidates is 60%, & General is 90% in Promotion exams. But when no reserved candidates qualified than the Rule " Best among failed candidates " applied and a person with 20 marks, 18 marks is promoted. Such system should be removed & Group B posts should be recruited directly and not as promotes. This country needs to stop Group B promotions departmentally but should take from Staff selection process OR UPSC, Railway Services etc but not within department. Reservation should come with creamy layer as only the knowledgeable families continue to avail the reservation facilities. When will this happen. Remove the coloum of mentioning Religion and caste wherever not required. Many such ills needs a strong political will. Expected

General candidates from lower middle class bring 98% marks and get no good education and job seats whereas candidates of rich businessmen and officer fathers of so-called 'backward castes' living in posh bungalows bring 65% marks and get the best education and jobs. The general candidate remains poor and backward just like his father. Most of the unreserved seats are already taken by the 'backward classes' and the remaining seats are exclusively kept reserved for them to ensure 'equality'. This just a reservation which has vengeance in its mind against the general castes instead of a genuine concern for progress. Only removing all reservations and keeping it only for genuinely poor candidates as its sole criteria can be more promotive of social equality, unity and progress of Indian society. Reservation in today's society is a curse to India. It is just like Jinnah who kept crying and using victim card for extra benefits for his particular minority group untill he cut away half of our country. The reservation agenda on caste today is no different than that.

India mein sab reservation khatam karna chahte hai tark ye diya jata hai ab casteism nahi hota, I was in FCI delhi, my parents were in govt job and wanted me to be in govt job, cleared FCI exam after my postgraduation and one year contractual job, I hated my job at FCI, govt job mein itna jyada casteism tha apki posting SC ST dekhkar karte hai, work load SC ST ko jyada do, rewards to hai hi nahi APAR kharab karte hai officers, agar apke office mein Ladkiya jyada aa jaye to officers sexual politics karne lagte hai jo ladkiya kharab character ki hai wo mahol bahut kharab karwa deti hai office me shareef logo ke liye, apke attendance mein cross lagege unke nahi this hurts a lot after so many years of service you feel miserable, I suffered a lot of jaatiwaad in FCI so much so that after 11 yrs of service when I was transferred out of delhi it didn't seem worth going out and I resigned, I am currently trying to build my small business
