Very cute flips! Tips for future sewing: * if you replace sleeves you can use the original sleeves as a pattern * for puff sleeves there are a lot of tutorials how to make a puff sleeve pattern, works especially if you have the original sleeves as a pattern. Sleeves are one of the most difficult parts of sewing and you learn as you go. Have fun 😊

For real, this is the most creative and interesting thrift flip/upcycle fashion video I've seen in AGES! Usually people who do thrift flip videos just make the tops cropped and the skirts into mini skirts and call that thrift flipping - those videos are so boring! But your ideas were all super creative and inventive. LOVE!!!
Hi, Annika! I love watching the video's you made! They give me such inspiration because your showed your mistakes and problem-solving; it makes me remember that it's okay if something doesn't come out perfectly. Sometimes, I get too worried that I will mess up to actually sew anything, so Thank you!
I don't know how you have the absolute TALENT to eat up every single thrift flip in this video but you certainly do!! i loved all the projects and am def inspired to go diy the shit out of my clothes rn!!

YK what I think you're right!!! I had to reference back to that tiktok and the magazine is called Kera Maniax - apparently it's a spin-off on the Gothic and Lolita Bible. It's for sure full of a ton more inspo so I might have to just check out both!
First time viewer. Y'all are cute as a button! I'm 59 and totally a maximalist. I think it used to weird my husband out but now he hears people compliment my style so he is on board. I think, for the shoulder issue, i would have run thread through along the top seem, from neckline to sleeve, then pull it to ruffle it up to where you want it to hit on the top of your shoulder, then tie it off. It's lovely and you make good calls. I enjoy hearing you talk it through. God bless!
The tie is soooo awesome 100% going to try!!!!! These are truely adorable even tho your situation is unfortunate at least your creativity isn't trapped!!
If you want to make gathered puff sleeves, try keeping the short parts on the sides the size of your regular sleeve, but make the curvy bell part wider and taller. That way, you are adding more volume to the tops and sides of the sleeve instead of under your arm. ;) Love that you aren't too scared to cut into a garment if altering it would make you more likely to where it. Very historical mindset! And it shows the value you put into your clothes
I have to let you know, because I recently had the same problem with making eyelets! ~~Use the regular hammer and not the rubber mallet~~ I know its way noisier 🥲 but the rubber one is designed to absorb some of the force so it isnt going to be as reliable for cutting the fabric and installing the eyelets. It was SO much easier when I switched tools!
I knooowwwww! It's been a minute since I posted a sewing video but finally had some time to whip out the sewing machine! Thanks for watching and commenting🩷
i like your creativity, and just to help i wanted to suggest a few things which i hope will be useful. When you were using the eyelet maker, it went through me, when i saw you using a hammer on a tiled floor! You could have damaged them. A chopping board would have added some protection. One the last item, when you turned up the hem on the sleeves, you produce what is called a, 'channel' , if you had done this slightly wider and left it open one end on the inside, you could have used a safety pin to thread elastic through, to thread ribbon through, turn the opposite way and leave the opening on the outside, and thread ribbon. Hope this helps. Wishing you all the best for future projects.
Don’t know how I missed this video when you put it out! You did such a great job-on all the flips!! So cute! Your tie flip gave me an idea for another project! I thought I would make a belt by taking 2 ties (2 of the same width ties, but different patterns!) and put grommets at the tips of both ties (Just like you did!). Then, using a jump ring on each tie, I thought I would join the two ties with a larger center ring between the two. The ties will come around my waist and tie in the back (Tying the thinner ends into a bow!). What do you think?
YUUUUUSSSSS! Those two are the easiest of the video for sure so totally do-able! Next time Im out thrifting, Imma pick up so many ties to transform them! Seems like there's always so many that are neglected at the thrift!
obsessed with these, i havent found any thrift flips doing this style ive been searching for yay!! FOLLOWED SO FAST also on ur unicorn dress u mentioned not liking the sleeve placements, an idea could be to rouge a mini "corset" lacing on the top of the shoulders with ribbon and tie lil bows on the top, and almost similar idea to use ribbon to do a mock corset tie on the back to sinch it in on ur sides and add a pretty bow on the back 💕
YUUUUUSSSSSSS!!! Girllll and it was literally the easiest of the bunch! The fabric was scraps from previous projects but would totally invest in spikes and grommets💫
I had the idea of doing a bunch of sewing and crocheting when I had covid since I was stuck at home for a week and I got absolutely nothing done because I would get light headed after standing or sitting up for too long. I don't know how you managed! But you killed it! these are so creative and cute!! Hope you're feeling better!
loved this! for the unicorn dress you could try gathering the fabric along the top of each shoulder! it would pull the sleeves up higher on your shoulder and also add nice detail to the top of the shirt
Im watching this while hand gathering tulle and sewing it onto shorts I crocheted... safe to say this is jusy the diy energy I need while doing my own projects :D
If you want an easier method for making that puff effect on sleeves or ruffles i recommend using the longest stitch length on your machine then pulling the bobbin thread (bottom thread) to gather it up
I believe they wore flouncy skirts like that in the 80s like that on a daily basis. It wasnt only for prom you know. Prom had the fancy materials. But they had daily skirts + dresses with similar cuts. And I love the unicorn dress! Sometimes if a shirt is too wide for you, you need to narrow the shoulder width by cutting the fabric up there too. But then you have to be careful not to cut too much fabric!! If I like a pic on a Tshirt I will turn an XL into an XS! 😂😂😂 it takes a bit of practice too. But its not so hard. You get used to cutting on stuff. 😊 But I love the unicorn dress + the black top! 😊

@@twinelle well I grew up in the 80s so it is easy for me! 😄 and yes you have a 51 year old horse crazy equestrian watching your channel. But then I have a way better body now then I did back then - my mother + grandmother were feeding me ALL THE WRONG FOODS back then so I was fat! To bring in the waist on the dress, I'd add pink lacing ribbons criss-crossed in the back. Maybe sew fabric loops at the sides, made from leftover cutoffs from the shirt, to thread the laces through.
this is awesome!! Im definitely trying the cutout idea, i get tired of my clothes but never want to throw them away i usually do a clothing swap since i get most of my clothes free anyway but this is such good inspiration for doing thrift flips and making my wardrobe fun without spending much more money!
I love your upbeat energy anyways, but in these thriftlips it's on a whole other level! I love your flow to just go with it! Love to see the excitement! You are a jem ❤
Oh dang. Didn’t know that! Okay, how should I open them without making them weaker? Yuuussss the only lighter I have is out so need to refill it before the fraying gets worse🫣
I have a sewing machine because I specifically want to use it for thrift flips, but I have yet to use it for that. I’ve messed around with it but I suck at making my lines straight so it can be discouraging. Your video gave me so much inspiration to try and just have fun! Also your excitement for all your projects in the video was so adorable and very contagious! 😊
To pull the shoulders up a bit on the dress so they're not a drop-shoulder style, I'd either run a gathering stitch down the seam to ruche it up, or I'd cut a tiny hole at either end of that seam to insert a ribbon lace. Just tie the lace into a bow as tight as you like to gather it a little or a lot, and then you have the bow detail as well! It would look very sweet with long dangly ends, maybe even with charms sewn to the ends of the ribbon.
Here's a little jewelry-making trick, but with any split ring piece to get them apart instead of pulling them apart with the needlenose pliers you should twist them. Push one side away from you and pull the other side towards you from the middle That way they go together back into their original position by just twisting them back again and you don't have to use the pliers to squeeze the ends together hoping they will match up. Just a little FYI
Ya know, its very heartwarming to see that you like what you make and it makes you happy. Personally, I really dont like any of the outfits you flipped, but they arent for me so it does not matter in the slightest ^u^ you keep doing you girl
When opening the rings for jewelry use two pairs of pliers and kind of twist them one side to the front and one to the back rather then pulling them apart. It’ll be easier and less likely to distort. It’ll also make the ends meet back up better when you close it
Ayo I Shazam'd that cool sounding music at 21:37 and guess I was the first person to do so :O Looks like it's a smaller artist named gumpshroom, their stuff sounds great I'ma start listening 👌👌

I don't sew, but for the final dress flip I wonder if sewing a strip of elastic with a bit of tension to the shoulder seem would help to pull the sleeves up and maybe add to the puffed sleeve effect?
I love the way the last piece fits! Honestly if it was fitted it would be cute too but I love the charm of the slightly oversized look on you! Amazing thrift flip!!!👏🏽🩷🩷🩷

I love the style you have. I also like that you just move forward with the ideas. If I may be so bold as to make a suggestion, you may want to consider a mask when working with that E6000 glue (if you aren't). That stuff is toxic. Hope you are feeling better from COVID. For the unicorn shirt sleeves, have you considered synching them to bring them in?
awesome!!! you're one of the few who submitted a "normal" name lolol girlllll some ppl said Clamantha, Erminguard, Mannequinelle (was a fav too) but some how still landed on a granny name ETHEL💗
The black t shirt looks so much cuter with the mesh sleeves. Every time I see that tie I only see that white bow. To me it distracts from the tie itself.
The dress is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen…. I don’t rly like pink and don’t wear dresses or even like unicorns but I also kinda wanna make myself something like it
The jump rings (you called them spring rings by mistake) should be opened by twisting them apart, not spreading them apart. That way it's much easier, you retain more strength in the ring, and it doesn't misshape the ring. A spring ring is like a keychain ring, in that it has a double loop and it doesn't spread or twist open at all.
If you do the star insert again - sew the mesh onto the shirt and then cut the t-shirt from under it. You won't be fighting with the wide opening.
Yes! I came here to say this. It's called reverse applique, and it keeps the shape stable so it's a lot easier to manipulate.
Omg tyy

93 degrees in Phoenix this morning! Highs today 116
hey David! I literally cannot even imagine how hot 116 is! That triple digit weather is WILD! Im super fortunate that LA has a low of 68 and high of 94 today. Hope you're keeping cool and hydrated!
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THE TIE! I WISH I HAD A TIE TO ALTER
i instantly followed, you are everything i have ever looked for in a youtuber! and all these pieces were so cute are you kidding
Twinelle you are so so sooooooo inspiring for me and I really really can't wait to watch this video💫💗🤗
hi hiiii! Thanks for tuning in so early! Grabs some snacks cause esssss a long one!🩷
Love the shirt and the dress! I love all the creativity! ❤️
If you haven't taken in the unicorn top more, you could add rings or eyelets to the back and make a corset/lace up feature!
i like the red bow with the tie!💕
When will you DIY the carousel?
I actually decided to leave it as is! I just don't wanna ruin it BUT I cut off part of the pole so it's chilling on top of my armoire now lol it looks supa cuuute!🩷
each flip is CRAZY good like omg
i looove the tie i kinda wish i wore em so i could make smth as good
You are SUPER talented girl! You gave me so much inspiration xx
Oooh girl you could add a grommit corset back with ribbon to tighten the unicorn dress around your waist.
You should weave the red ribbon through the black piece
OH MY GOD! I LOVE LOVE THE DRESS TOO! AWESOME JOB ON ALL THE THRIFT FLIPS!
Omg you can see my name request for the mannequin lol I put Matilda!
awesome!!! you're one of the few who submitted a "normal" name lolol girlllll some ppl said Clamantha, Erminguard, Mannequinelle (was a fav too) but some how still landed on a granny name ETHEL💗
@@twinelle we love Ethel 🙏❤️
The black t shirt looks so much cuter with the mesh sleeves. Every time I see that tie I only see that white bow. To me it distracts from the tie itself.
OKAY THE FIRST SHIRT IS MY FAVORITE WOW
Put the bears on the back of the Nikes I think it’s an adorable detail!
Is there a video of how you made the t-shirt dress?
Yuuuusss here’s the link for it!🖤✨

Obsessed with everything that you made! Great job girl! You are incredibly talented. ❤
You're so creative and I love your personality! They turned out so great. I'm definitely subscribing 😍💗💖
I LOVE YOUR THRIFT FLIPS!!!
Best “beginner” I ever found on YT ❤
For the unicorn dress I was totally thinking asymmetrical handkerchief hem- fairycore vibes.
Those embellished sneakers remind me of the same kinds of things that used to decorate ankle socks in the 80’s.
19:03 you should do them on the back, they are super cute!!!
You should lace up the back of the unicorn dress like a corset to take it in
The dress is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen…. I don’t rly like pink and don’t wear dresses or even like unicorns but I also kinda wanna make myself something like it
with the last one, try adding another ribbon/ raber bend from the neck to the shoulder to pull it higher (the shoulders)
I LOVE the t-shirt dress!!! It looks amazing!!! 😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️!
You have such a talent w that sewing machine. I wish I knew how or had someone to offer me lessons lol
I think the fact some of it is asymmetrical gives it more personality as its handmade :)
Only thing i can think of to cinch in the waist more is a corset styled back
The jump rings (you called them spring rings by mistake) should be opened by twisting them apart, not spreading them apart. That way it's much easier, you retain more strength in the ring, and it doesn't misshape the ring.
A spring ring is like a keychain ring, in that it has a double loop and it doesn't spread or twist open at all.
I hope you feel better, get well soon
Man I love your style it’s so inspiring to me
THE FLIPS WERE SO GOOD OMG
IM FEELING SO INSPIRED RN
I have the same machine! How do you take care of it wid it? My threads always bunch up when I’m sewing and i have to redo it
Super Cute! you are a unicorn Queen!
