Jon, I'm so thankful to have come across your channel a few months ago. I usually click on your videos first now when finding reviews like this one for equipment that I'm interested in. Blessings to you, brother!
I love the silk drive, it really does has a warm tone that really stands out. Both seem to hang on to clarity nicely when you rev them up. You seemed to really enjoy the silk drive Jon. Wonderful playing. Now I want two of them 😀😂👍👍👍
I own a Silk Drive pedal, which I primarily use as a clean amp substitute when I play at places with only a PA, and secondarily as an overdrive pedal when there is an amp, and the Silk Drive sounds phenomenal in both applications. I actually like the oscilloscope, it's fun to watch! The display isn't educational but I enjoy seeing it react to the different pedals I put before it. This pedal excels at what it's aimed to do, but I wish Vox did a better job of defining it's purpose and marketed it better. Thanks for this video, hope this helps more people buy them and experience these wonderful pedals so that Vox doesn't discontinue them like so many of their innovations...
Another great review; I’m looking for a tube overdrive to stack other drives into and this is a serious contender! Thanks for putting this together Jon, kind regards from New Zealand.
Will keep the Copperhead & the Silk in mind, Jon, thanks for going through them all. Glad the new Enya is working out for the live show, it should be a good one with the New Year & some brighter prospects ahead.
Korg have done a great job with these new Vox pedals. I don't own any pedals, but these are very tempting, if only they could combine them all into a new Vox multi-effects unit with a large display. Your clean playing is superb as always. Have a great New Year Jonathan.
Would be better to review the pedals direct in the audio interface using third party IR to demonstrate the amp sim capabilities but as always great review
Hi Jonathan. I love your reviews. I know it's not a equal comparison, but what is your impression of the tone quality you get from the Nux Pedals Solid Studio compared to the Vox pedals? That silk pedal sounds really nice, but can you get that tone in the Nux pedal as well? I just ordered the Nux, but now I am wondering if the vox pedals are better.
Hey Jonathan, which would you say would be best going into the front of an amp? Revv G3, or the Vox Cutting Edge. I haven't found anyone's opinion comparing those yet.
Silk drive sounds nice! We're still in deep bad stuff here in the states with covid. Our president hasn't really cared much and hasn't allowed our government to help us. All we can do is hope the new president will step in and do something.
Great tones & as always you make pedals sound greater! I just got the mystic edge & was well worth it.Also got the Octanaut Hyperdrive & was disappointed as it lacked in drive or sustain & feel.

Thank you for that sharing Aaron!!
I'm think of buying the silk drive too use as a clean preamp but can't find demos of it to see how low can the gain goes

Glad it was helpful!

It really was my pleasure✌️❤️

Yes.. but I was reviewing it as effects pedals back then ✌️❤️
I have perfected my Jonathan Koh impersonation. It is all in the "High, my name is Jonathan"....
lol
Hello Jonathan, I like the cutting edge more, best regards !
cool! ✌🤓
I saw these in City music the other day and was intrigued. I wish Vox had ditched the little display and reduced the price a tad bit.
hahah✌🤓
Excellent Player!
Thank you ✌️❤️
New peddles are a good thing, but where do all the old peddles go?
lol...
Yes please!
✌🤓

Very different usage...yu can still use the vox pedals with the SoildStudio ✌♥
Cutting edge sounds more like Silk Drive with some extra gain.
✌♥

Cant help you there..havent played on a Revv yet✌❤
Is the Silk drive a dumble amp mod?
dont think so
A lot of people are saying that it is based upon a Dumble, but other people are saying it is a Fender emulation.
Hi Jon, have you tried any of these as front end boost?
I just use this as a drive unit.. ✌️❤️
Vox or flyrig for you?
None… I use line 6 Helix
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Sorry, I wanted to ask you which of the 2 you prefer as a preamp, the silk drive or the fly rig 5 ?
Woow woow 😍💋 💝💖❤️
✌🤓
