I was there in this concert man! This was the best music that I heard live in all my life. Also Primus was the best band I heard live. I've never seen any bass player playing like Les Claypool. It is totally nostalgic to appreciate this lesson! Thank you! Lord bless you man!
@@victoonix2802 oh ok, it seemed easier than his other basslines(besides the fact that its harder to slap higher up on the fretboard), and its my fav song from him
@@victoonix2802 I have always thought the album has either absolute bangers, or songs that are kinda Doo Doo stank imo, but still being admirable. The brown album doesn't tickle my brain in the right spots like the other albums do. Unless it's hats off. Shit slaps.
You always do great work. I appreciate all the videos you've put out. As a les Claypool inspired newbie you break down everything in ways I can follow with. Although I'm a beginner(ish), I am still determined to slowly be able to accomplish these awesome songs. You certainly got a PhD in claypoolology lol.
@@ShaakTisElectricKoolAid You're welcome, man! And since I grabbed your attention, I had a question about this song and what I hear in both live and studio versions. In their performances, I hear the pluck after the hammer ons start with the A12 string, and then to the ten, instead of starting with the 10th and next being higher with 12. Am I hearing this right? I can't seem to find the live versions that you're referencing, I've been listening to the version from Sydney. Maybe he flips it in some performances idk.
@@ViliTheFox I am referencing this performance ua-cam.com/video/qgm-j71QBRU/v-deo.html . If you're referring to the first riff of the song, in the Sydney performance, I am hearing it as A10, A12, A10, then down to the E5h7 slapping. The studio version of this is played on an upright bass, which I do not know how to play, and most likely is different from the live resonator bass version. If you wanted to figure out the studio version, he does play this song on an upright bass in Rockpalast 1997, if you wanted to study that performance. Hope this helps
@Shaak Ti's Electric Kool-Aid Ok I'm just a tad tone deaf at times lol. Now I actually focused on Les' playing visually and can see he is doing exactly as you were describing. Your reference is so much better to hear what's being played I hear it now. Thank you once again.

Love these videos! I'd love to see a "One better" lesson in the future too!
I asked for it a lot of time ago, I think he said it's very complicated but he could try

@@devlintaylor9520 I always thought one better sounded like one of his hardest songs, but ok
@@devlintaylor9520 He made a lesson for it eventually.
@@BeezerGutlr Yep i know. My comment was even featured!

@@ShaakTisElectricKoolAid I have always seen it as a bland album, but recently I had a good listen to it and I honestly think it's one of their best
