Kent Hughes discussed the possibility of exploring "other options" if Demidov was forced to play another season in the MHL, rather than the KHL.. let's discuss these options. and more ..

It's ok - let Demidov play against men for a year - let Hutson, Mailloux and Reinbacher gain some experience wherever they play - also against men.... then the year after with some contracts expiring and some lineup spots opening up, that's when we set out sights on the cup ... so 25-26 they should make the second round of the playoffs and 26-27 compete for the cup.

I think Millioux and Xhakej are going to be a great top 4 pair in the future, i think Savard and Hutson make the most sense as a pair due to how both generally play and Ghule and Matheson make the most sense as the top pair to start the season

Sounds like management is familiar with the team as bibrovs dad I believe is a scout for them. I think habs let him play the year and get a year if khl under his belt then bring him over

Generally well liked. He's done a good job in developing the offense of young players, but the powerplay is still meh and they haven't been good defensively
I am still in shock, even when i knew Demidov was still there at 5, i was STILL worried, and Celine stretched that shit out foreverrrrrrrr... lol. Then she said Ivan, and i lost my shit!!! So happy, and now im hearing rumors Reinbacher might be traded, can shit get any better in Habs land, and the McGroarty rumors?? He'd be a great addition, fitting right in with what we r doing, i can see them pulling the trigger on that! he captained US to their gold last year. He'd be a perfect fit.

Im curious about ehy they puller the triggervon Demidov, but not Michkov.
I believe thetrcwas a sense that Demidov loves this type of environment, but Michkov didnt, OR Michkov did not want to play in Montreal.
I never bought the whole "Russian factor".
Michkov's character is why he most likely wasn't seen as a guy who could hande the MTL market
Dont forget to thank Columbus, not only for being more interested in a power forward archetype at pick #4, but for being Columbus. Reports seem to indicate a potential trade of Martin Necas that would have included pick #4 got scuttled; likely because he didn't want to go to Columbus.

I think it’s good that he has one more year in the KHL he’ll get some development over there then hopefully he’ll come over and play in the AHL then finally the NHL

I think the K will do him some good. A chance to play against seasoned pros but without dropping him straight in the deep end

Hmmmm ...I would of course love to see Demidov play with the Habs, sooner rather than later, but the kid needs time to adjust to the canadian way of playing, not a lot of hitting in the leagues he's played in. Slaf took some hard hits when he started, and many speculated wether he could handle the rough game style, but he did persevere, and is getting better. I think Demidov would benefit with some time playing with the big boys first before playing for the habs. I hate to see a guy rushed in, only to see him get into trouble.

If they are planning on playing him in the MHL again, just pay them off. He doesn't generate a dime playing in empty arenas in the MHL. They have no reason not let him go besides "why would we?". Give them a reason to let him go and they might. I don't see why they wouldn't take the money. He serves no purpose whatsoever to SKA playing in the MHL.

They could have made the playoffs this season by signing a couple UFAs if that was the goal, but the goal is not to be the Laffs and go out in the first round every year, it's to contend. Keep building...

We waited *two years* for Cole Caufield lol, so i really dont understand all the impatience right now lol
Because this kid has the potential to be the best player on the team. Cole is good but he's already been passed by Slaf in overall value IMO. By the time Juraj is Caufield's age he'll be far superior as a complete player. It's possible that Cole will be our 4th best forward in a few years; maybe lower if we sign a big UFA.
I'm excited but he hasn't even played at a pro level yet. Definitely don't want to inflate the balloon too much, and have it pop...

Doubt he doesn't make the khl this year he should of if we go one season back but with what he did in mhl plus khl need 2 players undr the age of 20 so he will be in the khl this year unless done unperpous for him to come to habs now
It would be good for you guys if he comes next season so that he plays sometime in VHL (2nd tier in russia) or KHL. Than it would be easier for him to adjust to NHL.
It also gives him a little time to mentally prepare for his next chapter in life as well.

Problem is I've heard that the KHL is not a league to develop players, so he might see less ice time there.
Once again, cause I always say so, no need to "rush" but the sooner he gets to North America the better. One year in the MHL might not be a bad thing. We'll trust the management to make the best out of this situation.

Yes there is. We rushed Slaf and it's working out fine. Players of a certain caliber get elevated earlier as they have nothing to gain staying at a lower level. One year in the K is fine since it's a step up from the M. After that, get him over here and get him used to showtime.
@@donnaw7 Slaf was disappointing in his first season and he probably would’ve turned out better by spending another year in Europe. Kotkaniemi was rushed and didn’t pan out, Puljujarvi was rushed and didn’t pan out. Rushing players is dumb.
I want him in the league by October, but he's playing for SKA St-Petersburg, so buying him out is not an option.
SKA is owned by Gazprom, and ran by Gennady Nikolayevich Timchenko. Gazprom is under international sanctions for being Russia's main source of funding, and Timchenko is under international sanctions for operating a mercenary group tied to war crimes in Ukraine.
I like Molson, I don't want to see him going to federal prison for violating sanctions. We don't need him that quickly. The only real option is him fleeing undercover to North America like Malkin and Mogilny did, cause I doubt SKA will terminate his contract on compassionate grounds like Michkov's contract was.

Junkie missed out on an Xhekaj (Florian) 'Welcome To The NHL' exhibition , if he didn't check out this Friday's Montreal Canadiens Development Camp Blanc v Rouge scrimmage games on UA-cam . Yeah the 'usuals' (like Beck & Hage) disappointed , but what can you expect from a bunch of Canadian CHL players when they meet up with some real hockey players. Sam Harris looked 'interesting', but still a year (or two) away from being AHL ready.
Please don't get my hopes up like this...
