I agree with what you said about the band’s current vibe ... which is positivity and love. Floor was able to heal a lot of the scars that were there in a way that Annette couldn’t ( nothing against Annette). But Floor was down on life when the band asked her to join them.. They needed her and she needs them. You can tell a big difference in the way the band acts around Floor (on and off stage) compared to Tarjia and Annette.

Looks like this is your first listening to Dark Chest of Wonders, now you should privately check the Wacken version too, it's legendary as everything from that concert :) When it comes to old Nightwish you have to see and react to a TV show live performance from 1999 in Helsinki where they performed Gethsemane and Sacrament Of Wilderness from their then new and second album Oceanborn (for many their best). It's incredible how young they are, almost unrecognizable, all at the beginning of their 20's, but killing it, crazy good performance and Tarja sounds mighty and epic. It is like going back to the source of Nightwish. First 3mins is interview with Tuomas and Tarja, also interesting to see for you privately (turn on subtitles) but you can skip it for the reaction video. Emppu is very accomplished guitarist, but focuses more on the song than his ego, It is very hard to tell that Jukka was struggling with insomnia and I think also migraine troubles. It would be very interesting to hear Jukka speak about the situation. Loved it my friend. We all miss the man. He brings such an energy and style to their music. They do have a lot of fun on tour. 🎶🎶🎶🤘🤘🤘
Aw Jukka. ❤ He's also one of those incredibly naturally charming people who can make you feel at ease and important even if you talk to him for 10 seconds. Kai is awesome but I'll always miss Jukka's presence on stage. And yeah, Nightwish is a true family these days. Not that there were never good times, laughs and camaraderie before but it's on completely new level now.
Every Nightwish video I see that has Jukka on drums I sadness, almost like a lost friend. Another reactor compared Jukka to Animal from the Muppets, I laugh now every time I see him play. Cheers
I saw one reactor compare the drummers to Star Wars: Kai is the calm and cool Jedi Master, whereas Jukka is the Sith Lord who just beats the shit out of everything

About Tarja ( i was a fan of Tarja), The whole band was against that Tarja would stay, even Marko said if she stays , i'm going. But they ALL said that Tarja was Fired, so it's easy to say that it was Tuomas his fault, and now i'm a Floor-fan , i think it's the best for Nightwish that Floor is the singer. And Tuomas said that too.
Glad to see you feeling better...stay healthy...BTW are you going to the Virtual Concert in March 18/19, You said you couldn't see him feeling bad...re-check High Hopes....you see Toumas telling Empuu to check on Jukka...he seems to be holding his head...might have been a Migraine. But this band is so much of a family that they have each others back.

To be honest the whole Wacken should be watched from start to finish without the distraction of anything, like not even in camera. But of course he probably wants to react to most of the individual songs first.
I understand what you're saying that perhaps Tuomas had a change of approach to managing the band, but what makes you assume that Tuomas was the problem in the first place? At least from what you said, it appears that you hold him responsible. I don't know what all went down because I wasn't a fan at the time. Now, I only have historical records to go on but, from what I can see, there was a whole band's worth of problems... not just one person. After all, Tuomas did not make the decision alone.
It's become my Gold Standard when comparing to other concerts by ANY band. Wacken 2013 was SO SPECIAL. I can't see anyone ever beating this concert....💖

I can't imagine trying to get through a day without them now....not sure how I survived for 63 years without them, actually. Jukka is the best. Always loved how he appeared to be beating the living Hell out of his kit, a combination of showmanship and savagery... On a different note the video showed a couple of the pre-show hug huddles. I have always been curious, nosey would be a better word, about what is said during those times. Because I was kind of astounded in the 'Learn the Set List...' film that the words said by Tuomas were almost an exact quote of the Empire and Victory passage in Prometheus Unbound. For some reason, that impressed the heck out of me. It has me constantly searching for literary easter eggs in Nightwish lyrics... I babble. Thank you. The reaction was epic.

Emppu can shred a solo when it is time for it. I think his real super-power is his rhythm playing. His palm muting, syncopation, pinch harmonics are so precise and consistent.
I wonder if playing his drums was Jukka's best therapy at the time. I started listening to Nightwish with this Wacken 2013 concert. I fell in love with all of them during my time watching this concert. When I finally listened to later concerts, it seemed really "jarring" to my senses to not have Jukka behind the drum set. I've grown to truly appreciate Kai, and I know Jukka chose him to take his place, so he must have known Kai would do a wonderful job. But I still miss Jukka. Thank heavens, we can always go back in time and listen to him whenever we want. A day without Nightwish is like a day without Sunshine or Moonlight. Wishes to Everyone for a Happier New Year ahead than the one we're leaving behind tonight, Dec. 31, 2020.💖 EDIT: In my humble opinion, Tuomas has always treated all of the band members with love and respect. His only mistake was making the band's letter to Tarja an "open" letter to the public. From everything I can gather, things had become unbearable for ALL of the band members when Tarja told them she would be leaving the band after the next album. Her new husband was apparently exerted untoward pressure on his wife AND the band. This story has way more than just two sides....just imagine what Marco and Empuu were going through during all of this. I believe the positions they take next to Tuomas at the end of Poet and the Pendulum says it all. They are a band that has stuck together through good times and bad times. I pray that Nightwish will be Blessed with many more Good Times in 2021 and beyond....💛🤘💖🎇
